Week 22 here. Have had 20 week scan with consultant. Our first had to have surgery at 3 months, so they wanted to check to make sure our second didn’t have the same issue. Very detailed scan checking the particular area from every angle-and all ok. Phew! We spent so long on that issue though we forgot to ask about what flavour we’re having. So, another surprise awaits us. Being quite contrary though, I’m quite enjoying frustrating the family who keep urging us to find out. Having had a brush with SCBU and then surgery on a newborn, it really brings home to you how health is the only thing that matters: I really couldn’t care less whether we’re having a boy or girl.

That said, I understand everyone’s excitement at finding out. As with everything in life: do what feels right for you.

(Anyone still being sick occasionally?)

MissYeti · 29/11/2017 19:34

@Testar glad everything is okay with your little bean!
If I eat breakfast and brush my teeth too close together I end up vomiting :/ the other thing is I've had a cold with a gloriously chesty cough...which also induces vomiting!

Will add to the spreadsheet soon, can't do it on my phone!

Feeling nugget on a daily basis now Which is heavenly for reassurance he's okay I'm there. Mum hand her hand on my belly yesterday while he was kicking and she didn't feel it So it's our little secret for a while longer ❤

sidesplittinglol · 30/11/2017 10:13

Thanks MrsDneedsaB and Sunshine 😊

For those who have their scans today... I'm so excited for you guys and hope all is well.

No sickness here!

My placenta is covering my cervix so they've said they'd scan me again at 34 weeks. Has anyone experienced this before and if so, did it move back?

FairfaxAikman · 30/11/2017 11:55

I am experiencing burning pain in my hips while sleeping. I switch sides and it starts there instead.
Means I'm having to turn onto my back which is not ideal and I hate sleeping on anyway.
Pregnancy pillow not helping.

Hello ladies, can I join please?

Surrey now but originally Wales
It's a girl
After missed miscarriage discovered at 11 weeks and 2 lots of surgery in Jan I've been pretty anxious so far. Not helped now by anterior placenta so not feeling much at the moment - in fact don't feel pregnant at all (apart from rubbish sleep as miss sleeping on my back). Healthy pregnancies to us all xx

Jeds55 · 30/11/2017 13:40

Sickness went at about 11 weeks but randomly was sick a week ago in the morning! Not sure where that came from!

MrsDneedsaB · 30/11/2017 14:34

Hi @Jeds55 👋🏼 welcome. You're not the only one here with a history of mc's so we relate to your anxiety all too well. Congrats on this sticky bean though! 😁

I was sick last week due to my cough - not had one bit of morning sickness induced vomiting but a bloody cough makes me puke. Typical.

Baby currently has the hiccups!! It's the weirdest sensation!! I can only assume it's hiccups cos it's far too rhythmic and constant to be kicking ❤️

MissYeti · 30/11/2017 16:25

Ive updated and cleaned up the spreadsheet somewhat...anyone with only one bit of info on their list has been removed but I'm happy to put people back when they come back to the thread :)

crispydumpling · 30/11/2017 16:32

@sidesplittinglol congratulations on team pink!

My second had a low placenta and I had a repeat scan at 34 weeks which showed it had moved up. They told me 99% do - I was told it’s like a balloon - if you draw a dot at the neck when it’s not inflated it seems low down but once it’s blown up the dot moves up the balloon as it stretches.

22 weeks here, getting more regular movement and I’m back at work after maternity leave so I’m completely knackered. Going to London for a course tomorrow so I’m preparing to spend the entire weekend in bed to compensate!

Sunshinesaz86 · 30/11/2017 17:45

Welcome jeds I also had MMC back in Feb so understand how you feel. Also from N.wales! 😬

fairfax could it be the start of SPD? Mines started in the last week (I had it with DS1) but that didn't start till about 26/28 weeks so not looking forward to how I'll be at the end 😩.

Had my first hypnobirthing/yoga class last night, I nearly wet myself when we were rocking on all 4's and she was repeating 'rotate to dilate' 🙈!

crispy poor you going back to work at 22 weeks! I hope you enjoy your weekend chilling!

testar I understand how you feel about a healthy baby. My son is currently poorly and undergoing treatment and will be for the next 2 years it's horrible when your little ones are poorly.

Thanks for sorting spreadsheet missyeti x

twiddlerthefidget · 30/11/2017 21:48

I'm 34 in South Wales. Due 7th. Team blue.

Parney · 01/12/2017 10:35

@missyeti Spreadsheet looks great! I’m team pink! Will be interesting to see the amount of each in April! I was on a much smaller group with DS and all the ladies were team blue except for one who had a little girl.

ClaireBear1986 · 01/12/2017 16:31

Congrats on everyone's scans and finding out the genders. Such an exciting time!!

I had my 20w scan today and all went really well, so feeling sooo happy. Im 20w 1d now and have recently started to feel a lot of movement, as well as some quite strong kicks. My DP can even feel him kicking in the evening, and it's such a lovely moment for us all.

Really hoping this 2nd part of pregnancy goes quicker, as can't wait to meet him and have a cuddle now!!!

Jeds55 · 01/12/2017 17:09

Thanks for the welcomes ladies Grin seems there's an even mix of boys and girls so far. I wasn't sure I wanted to find out but partner did and he's rubbish at keeping secrets so thought it'd be easier if I knew at same time.
Anyone else got anterior placenta? Are you feeling anything? Think I've felt the odd movement but is so fleeting. Nearly 23 weeks so really hoping it picks up soon!
Starting to get bouts of heartburn the last couple days so hopefully that's a sign that all is well too

Sunshinesaz86 · 01/12/2017 21:34

I have jeds found out at my 20 week scan. I've been feeling movement for about 3 weeks or so but this is my second. Also had one with DS but didn't feel him properly until 22/23 weeks!

Glad your scan went well clairbear I'm hoping the last part will go quickly too x x

DaisyLand · 01/12/2017 21:39

Hello! Didn’t realise about this new thread.

Doctor told me I’ve got anterior placenta and it’s driving me nuts :( can’t wait for my 25w appointment with mw, not sure I’ll make it without visiting a gp before for heartbeat checking, I’m a constant worrier.

Started antenatal yoga and swimming this week. It’s Nothing like the normal ones ! So chill and relaxed !Smile

Jeds55 · 02/12/2017 06:49

Thanks Sunshine and Daisy nice to hear from others in same position. I know Daisy we are considering a private scan for reassurance! Trying to see if can hold off until mw appt on 12th Dec though...
Can't sleep, left hip and ribs hurting and partnet heavy breathing or snoring as I like to call it! Wink

olicat · 02/12/2017 07:52

20 weeks today! halfway klaxon (unless I go overdue haha)

jeds sunshine daisy I also have anterior placenta - am def feeling some movement but I get days where I don't feel anything which is obviously disconcerting. Hopefully things will be a bit more pronounced over the next few weeks! Think there are some more ladies on here who have ap.

Sunshinesaz86 · 02/12/2017 10:00

Apparently about 50% have AP but it's only usually a problem if it's low lying or your having a c section. And the frustration of late movements of course. Hopefully we'll all be feeling them regularly soon. Can't believe we're edging towards the end of the 2nd trimester 😬😬

bondbaby · 02/12/2017 11:23

Anyone else have pregnancy rhinitis?! It's making me so miserable. Stuffed up nose and constant catarrh since the start of the 2nd trimester. Went to bed last night and almost had a panic attack because I couldn't breathe! Can't sleep, eating is a nightmare and constantly feel like I can't get enough aid into my lungs. Any suggestions welcome (I've tried all the obvious)!

bondbaby · 02/12/2017 11:24

Air!

DaisyLand · 02/12/2017 11:44

@olicat I’m having that. Last time I felt the baby was Thursday. Nothing yesterday and not much I believe today (I’ve had few bubbles but not sure whether they’re air or baby). I’m dealing with anxiety and visiting a doctor about it. But .. cuz of it I can’t stop worrying to the point I want to call 111 to get an appointment today. I paid for a private scan 3 weeks ago for this same reason. I never thought pregnancy would bring me so emotionally up and down.

Jeds55 · 02/12/2017 12:50

bondbaby I was worse in first trimester - my right nostril was really blocked whole way through. Still have it a bit bit not as bad. Is there anything you can take for it? Such a random pregnancy symptom isn't it?!
Daisy Olicat I have exactly that - days where I can feel something thwn a couple of days with nothing. Acvording to NHS am 23 weeks tomorrow so hoping baby stsrts kicking me harder soon!

Jeds55 · 02/12/2017 12:51

Sunshine never realised it was that common. They said mine was quite high so hoping it stays that way

olicat · 03/12/2017 09:17

My placenta was really low at the 12 week scan, then had a private one at 16 weeks where it had moved a whopping 2.5 inches away from my cervix! Apparently they tend to move up so I hope it keeps doing so, we'll see next week.

Almost as if baby had been listening to this conversation, yesterday evening I got the strongest kicks I've had, enough to make me jump! I totally haven't got used to it, I always make an 'argh/ooh' noise which is quite embarrassing as it's so involuntary 🙈
