Hi all, please can I join? NHS website estimates 4th August as my due date.

I've got a toddler already and am not feeling sick like I was with her... yet. Am trying to reassure myself that all babies and all pregnancies are different. I'm also in the senior mum category - will be 37 on my due date.

somersetsinger · 04/12/2017 11:43

And sending supportive hugs to AJ89 - that must have been quite a shock.

AJ89 · 04/12/2017 12:05

@somersetsinger thank you, yes I just got so worked up over it but the doctor has reassured me that it would be highly unlikely for anything to be wrong

Peoniesandcats · 04/12/2017 12:54

Hi All,

Thanks for your reassurance – I’m glad that it’s not just me who has these thoughts and worries. You’re right, there’s always something to worry about – before worrying about mc I was worrying about conception!

I might have an early scan as well :)

Sorry to hear about you’re accident AJ89 – hope you are feeling better!

Subo2018 · 04/12/2017 13:07

Thanks everyone and congratulations :). I just hope this goes smoothly. Going to book a midwife appointment today Smile

Sparklesdontshine · 04/12/2017 13:40

Hi please can I join!
Got my BFP this morning, one day after af was due. I have had quite heavy implantation, so wasn't sure if it was AF over the weekend, but it seems not!

This will be my 4th, and I'm 39 next month Shock so I think I'm the oldest Grin

Due date early August 2018

Sugarskulllover · 04/12/2017 14:09

I didn't realise there was a group for August 2018 babies already!

I got my BFP on 26/11 and my due date is 8/8/18!

I've seen a few names on other boards I've been on! So hello again!

I have my first appointment with my midwife on 2nd Jan! I got my pregnancy confirmed with the doctor on Friday which was a waste of time as all he did was look at my HPT's.
Good luck all with our little August babies Smile

spydie · 04/12/2017 14:55

Hope you are ok @AJ89 Flowers

Nice to see you here Sparkles!!!!

RiverRose · 04/12/2017 17:55

Hi ladies,

Cautiously here as I tested early at what would be 10 dpo yesterday. Today's test is darker and a clearblue digi came up with 'pregnant 1-2 weeks' so feeling a little more excited!

I am 28 and this will be #3 for me but first baby with my husband. We have suffered from male factor infertility for over 18 months.

This pregnancy is a result of IVF so super super pleased and anxious. EDD is 16/08

birdy1978 · 04/12/2017 18:38

Don’t worry “sparklesdontshine” I’m already 39 so definitely the old lady of the group. Had my first at 36, no problems and straight forward recovery from EMCS. Aiming to keep active again this time (although having a toddler keeps me busy!). Congrats to all the new joiners - welcome!

CaffeineDragon · 04/12/2017 18:44

@AJ89 oh no! Glad you're okay!

mummadave · 04/12/2017 20:03

@ThatHippyDippyShit glad I'm not the only mad one - my ds is 6m!
I've got a midwife appt a week on Friday, same midwife as last time - the silence said it all when I phoned up and booked!
No nausea yet for me 🤞🏼 it stays this way, not sure I'll cope if I end up as sick as last time!

meX2 · 04/12/2017 20:29

Congratulations everyone!

Due between 31/07/2017 and 5/8/17 I think. Big age gap like some pp’s with a DS13 and DD10.
Feel like it’s the first time around again 😬
Got my midwifes appointment next Friday

meX2 · 04/12/2017 22:18

Preganancy brain already... 2018 not 2017 obvs 😂

ThatHippyDippyShit · 04/12/2017 22:21

@mummadave I did think I was mad for a few days when I first found out, but now I've got my head around it I can think of so many positives! I can't wait to see them grow up together, waddling around together playing, snuggling up on the sofa nearly the same size etc Xmas Smile

I must admit I'm nervous that I'm going to get a funny reaction at my booking-in appointment.... Also shitting myself that it's twins!

Congratulations x

StrawberryLemonade · 04/12/2017 23:13

AJ89 hope you're ok what a horrible shock!

Hi everyone else Grin so nice to have a group of us.

We will have a 3 year and a few months age gap, hoping that's ok as it's bigger than I'd initially anticipated but life and finances have gotten in the way of ttc before now. I remember my midwife when she discharged me first time - saying see you later but hopefully not too soon and I was a bit like Hmm what does it matter! We've since moved so don't know what new midwife will be like hopefully she's nice.

RiverRose · 05/12/2017 07:13

The age gap between mine will be large. I have DS11 and DD7 but they will be 12 and 8 before August!

It is scary starting all over anf I feel I have forgotten most of it Grin

Subo2018 · 05/12/2017 07:50

Morning all! Is anyone nervous about telling their family the news? Should you wait until the 12 week scan? I am completely prettified, no idea why as they've know my other half for over 14 years and we've been dating for 3 and now live together. We're both 27 but I still have this thought they might be disappointed. I can't work out if I feel sick because of the baby or if it's because I'm worried lol. Anyone else feeling worried in general about being pregnant?

SmashyCup · 05/12/2017 07:58

Hello bus! Can I join? I think I am due on 26th August.

YouCantBeSirius · 05/12/2017 08:15

I'll have a 10 year age gap when this one is born. Subo I plan on telling my parents at Christmas before I've had a 12 week scan. I feel sick at the thought of telling them, which is ridiculous because I'm an adult in a secure relationship.

Subo2018 · 05/12/2017 08:23

YouCantBeSirius I know it sounds so silly to be worried specially like you say when your in a secure relationship. I just don't want them to start 100 questioning us on childcare lol. We have a scan booked for 23rd so we are thinking of telling them xmas eve/day but hope it doesn't ruin their holiday if it's not want they want to hear lol

babyH3O · 05/12/2017 08:26

Good morning all

I have a large age gap also - my two will be 7&8 by August. Feel like a newbie all over again.

In terms of worrying/anxiety, having had previous losses I know this feeling well but I'm trying to adopt the view that what will be will be and there's little I can do to affect the outcome at this stage. Other than trying to eat/sleep well and take folic acid etc! It still feels surreal.

Haven't booked any appointments - I live overseas and have no idea where to begin. Will be back home over Christmas so hope to book an early scan around the 8 week mark then deal with negotiating a different healthcare system in January.

Anyone struggling with nausea yet? I have occasional waves but nothing too severe at the moment. Long may it last...!

spydie · 05/12/2017 08:53

We will have a 2.5 year age gap. I'm a bit worried about coping with a toddler and a baby!

We plan on telling family after the 12 week scan. Last time my PIL didn't keep the news to themselves which really pissed me off, so we wont be telling anyone until later. I don't expect a good reaction from my own mum.

No nausea here @babyH3O but it didn't hit until 8 weeks last time so hoping it will be the same again... Hmm

SmashyCup · 05/12/2017 09:00

Spydie we will have an 18 month age gap!

I actually think I'm more worried about being heavily pregnant with a toddler than when the baby arrives but maybe I'm in denial. Grin

Babydreaming · 05/12/2017 09:37

Hello everyone, congratulations all around!!

I’ve finally plucked up the courage to join. I’m only 4weeks and have had 2 chemical pregnancies before and 1 baby so in my mind this is more likely to be a chemical than a successful pregnancy! I’m super anxious.

I’m 29 and have a little boy who is 1 years old in a few days. We actually weren’t planning on TTC until next month as wanted to have a September onwards baby so this was a bit of an accident but I’m happy regardless!

I’m feeling pretty rough but I think it’s cus my little one has a cold at the moment and was up every 2h last night...I find I get insomnia when pregnant and couldn’t get back to sleep last night!

Also...anyone else not told their partners yet? I’ve known for almost a week now and not plucked up the courage!
