Hi, I was planning on joining you all. I'm 36 had a my first BFP on Monday with EDD 5.8.18 but unfortunately I had a very early miscarriage.

Wanted to say hi and hope all goes well for all of you.

babyH3O · 02/12/2017 16:06

Sorry to hear your news HopefulBunny, wish you all the best in the future. Take it easy. X

StrawberryLemonade · 02/12/2017 18:42

Hi caffeinedragon!
So sorry for your loss hopefulbunny Flowers

Today is the first day I've managed not to do a test... still doesn't feel real.

Brettgirl · 02/12/2017 19:11

I'm having such a worry, I'm so scared it will go wrong. I don't know when I will see a midwife and round here you can't see your gp, you just have to self refer to the midwife. So just waiting waiting waiting... sorry for rant xx

Brettgirl · 02/12/2017 19:12

So sorry Hopeful Bunny x

So sorry to hear that hopefulbunny Flowers

YouCantBeSirius · 02/12/2017 22:33

Brettgirl I self referred to the midwife this week and have an appointment in a fortnight when I'll be around 7 weeks.

StrawberryLemonade · 02/12/2017 23:59

I've left my details for midwife to call me back next week. I figure they probably won't want to see me for another couple of weeks at least though. I've moved areas since DC1 so not quite sure how it works here for community midwife booking.
I feel so bloated I look like I have a bump already even thought that's impossible!

CaffeineDragon · 03/12/2017 10:14

I feel irrationally nervous this time, I think bc of my age and because I want it so much - as we all do I'm sure!

Happy to answer any questions off first timers from my experience - but it's so so different for everyone and every time so worth keeping that in mind!

My main advice - if you're a control freak like me! - or find yourself turning into one is to try and just go with the flow as for pregnancy and giving birth (and breastfeeding etc!) you can't really control any of it, but being relaxed helps everything to flow with increased cortisol. Let's see if I can manage that now I've said it out loud!

AJ89 · 03/12/2017 14:09

Hi! I got my bfp yesterday. According to the Nhs calculator I’ll be due around 12/08/2018 which is my wedding anniversary! Will be my first baby. Very excited but so nervous things will go wrong! I have hypothyroidism so will speak to my Gp about it this week.

spydie · 03/12/2017 17:23

Very sorry to hear that Hopeful Bunny Flowers

Congrats again @Aj89 nice to see you over here. Hopefully there will be lots more ladies from the December bus soon!

I need to phone GP tomorrow and find out how to get referred to midwives. Last time I saw the GP first and he referred me, but hopefully can skip that part this time!

Brettgirl · 03/12/2017 21:41

@caffeinedragon can I be really rude and ask how old you are please? Im 38 and feel very old to be doing this for a first time lol xxx

StrawberryLemonade · 03/12/2017 22:00

Hi AJ and congratulations!
I was wondering too about caffeinedragons age but wasn't going to ask Grin mainly just being nosy though.

I keep getting weird tingly boob discomfort today, feels almost like breastfeeding let down - but not! Bizarre.

xMrsH · 03/12/2017 22:11

Hi All,

I am cautiously joining the group. I got my BFP last Sunday so I’m now 5 weeks and due 4 Aug. We have been trying for over 2 years so am currently in a bit of a dream and have taken 3 tests so far! I am 36 so feel quite old for a first timer and so terrified it’s all going to go wrong.

Fingers crossed!

Subo2018 · 04/12/2017 05:33

Hi everyone, quite new to this. I took a test last night and it came out positive. We have only just started trying so it has taken us a by surprise. The only symptoms I have are tender breast and periodlike ache every now and then. Is this normal? Should I be feeling more symptoms? Due 10th August according to the internet x

LucyDolly · 04/12/2017 06:36

Congrats to you all!

Subo period like cramps appear to be normal I had them from 4-6 weeks on and off: I’ve come to learn that “most” symptoms over than blood is nothing to worry about :) I’m 6+3 and have gagged 3 times in 15 minutes over smells (just got up) praying this isn’t the start of morning sickness! X

Peoniesandcats · 04/12/2017 07:08

Hi All

Found out on the weekend am pregnant and due 9th August (according to website tools)

It's our first and what we wanted so are feeling happy, but am trying not to get too excited as for some reason am worrying about miscarriage... no reason other than my friend went through one last week and stories that I've read online!

I've been feeling tired and period crampy. Plus a little sneezy.

Has anyone booked in to see the GP or midwive yet or is it too early?

StrawberryLemonade · 04/12/2017 07:17

Congratulations everyone! I'm getting some period like cramps too. I did at the same stage in my last pregnancy as well. I assume it's just things starting to stretch. I know how you feel peonies I'm worrying about mc as well for no real reason other than I know it can happen. Our friends also had a mc a few weeks ago so it's quite close to home.

YouCantBeSirius · 04/12/2017 07:37

Congratulations everyone. Peonies I've self referred to the midwife and have my first appointment in less than a fortnight when I'll be around 7 weeks.

spydie · 04/12/2017 09:35

Congratulations everyone!

@Subo2018 sounds pretty normal to me Smile I have the same symptoms and did last time too. I didn't get any MS until 8 weeks with DD.

I'm also worrying about mc. A good friend had one not too long ago at 9 weeks. I'm dreading telling her tbh as she's really been going through it and I don't want to add to her pain.

CaffeineDragon · 04/12/2017 10:15

@Brettgirl @StrawberryLemonade Ask away! I'm 37 next week. Had my first at 35. I have several friends who have had babies between 35-41 (my cousin just had twins at 38!) It's technically higher risk but just trying to think positive!

(Can't seem to figure out how to delete that double post!)

Just self referred, first time using that system. Last tome we paid for a private scan at about 7/8 weeks because I had basically no symptoms and I couldn't get my head around the fact I was supposedly pregnant! Was glad we did it. Was about £45 I think.

My 12 week scan is the 26th Jan and my EDD is 7th Aug.

I'm also worried about a MC as they are so common (1 in 4) and I have lots of friends who have had them. Three however got pregnant again right after and have had successful pregnancies.

There will always be something to worry about unfortunately we just need to try and not let the stress get the better of us and take care of ourselves and hopefully it will all be fine. And def don't google about all the what ifs! Terrifying! Keeping everything crossed for everyone.

AJ89 · 04/12/2017 11:20

Congratulations to all those joining :)

Well I’ve had an eventful morning, fell down the stairs at work and sent home. Been to a walk in centre to get checked over, seem to be fine but got a massive bruise on my bum hahah!

Brettgirl · 04/12/2017 11:35

I gave in and booked an early scan! 20 th December! X
