I'm really struggling to stay awake with this pregnancy. Was in bed before 10 last night, up at 8 this morning then I fell asleep on the couch this afternoon and only woke up at 7 this evening. It's such a contrast from my first pregnancy, I had so much energy and was constantly on the go.

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 26/12/2017 21:17

Keeping away from the Baileys and pate has been so hard!

Feeling quite a few aches and twinges, just hoping that it’s my body adjusting. Let’s face it there was no muscle tone left after DS so everything is probably popping out quite early Blush

Sugarskulllover · 26/12/2017 21:26

@amzq87 good! Glad it isn't just me lol

CumbrianExile · 26/12/2017 21:29

See this is why I'm glad I don't like soft cheeses! Am missing my cider though. Had an emergency dash to Tesco on Christmas Eve when I discovered they sold non alcoholic koppaberg! Almost like the real think Grin

milney25 · 26/12/2017 21:43

Oh @CumbrianExile I've heard really good things about that, I'll have to get some. I've been drinking nanny state by brew dog, it's very good actually

Gizzymum · 26/12/2017 22:01

I can also recommend Becks Blue. It tastes like real lager and after my first pregnancy I even preferred its taste to the real thing! 😱

peterpanwendy · 26/12/2017 22:20

I'm absolutely furious. I have a large family so this years 'do' is in a hall, we have all paid for hotels, contributed to cost of hall and food etc. And one family member says their baby has chicken pox and they're still bringing her. So this means I'm out, I don't wanna risk it. I can't go and enjoy my Christmas with my family because of their selfishness, I'm also too early to tell everyone why I won't be attending. And to make matters worse they're staying with my grandparents until the party so I can't even go and visit my grandparents. Been in tears as I am so gutted.

CumbrianExile · 26/12/2017 22:22

Milney I'd recommend the strawberry and lime one, its delicious.

CumbrianExile · 26/12/2017 22:25

Aw Peterpanwendy that's awful. How irresponsible for the parents to bring a poorly child to the party. I'm angry on your behalf.

Babydreaming · 27/12/2017 06:07

@peterpanwendy have you had chickenpox before as a child? If you’ve already had it then it doesn’t pose a risk to you or your unborn baby. It’s only dangerous for mothers who have never been infected but most people have it during childhood.

Hope you don’t have to miss you Christmas party!

FannyTheFlamingo · 27/12/2017 07:54

@peterpanwendy My aunt came to visit with shingles when I was pregnant with DD. We did a lot of research before she came, both asked our own doctors and a couple of doctors we knew personally. They all said there was no risk, and that the same would apply to chicken pox as long as I'd had it before.

When does the tiredness kick in? I can't remember from last time even though DD is only 1! I need to mentally prepare myself as DP hates me always being tired, so I need to be able to get a grip on it.

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 27/12/2017 08:32

peter Like others have said it's only a risk if you don't have immunity (from previous exposure). Also, the child may nolonger even be contagious if they have scabbed over.

Emmasmum2013 · 27/12/2017 09:12

@FannyTheFlamingo
I think its your DP that needs to "get a grip". You're growing a human being inside of you. Of course you're going to be tired.

Emmasmum2013 · 27/12/2017 09:30

Sorry I think that might have sounded a bit harsh... I've just read your other posts and can see you've not told your DP yet?
At the end of the day, I'm assuming you've been having unprotected sex? So it can't be that big of a shock to him?

Babydreaming · 27/12/2017 09:52

I’m so tired :(

My baby is unwell and the last few nights has been up in the early hours with coughing fits lasting over an hour!

We are moving house next week and have a list of jobs longer than is possible to achieve

I have an exam in early jan that I have no time to revise for

And I feel sick.

Rant over...

Gah, why does everything always happen at once?

peterpanwendy · 27/12/2017 10:08

Thanks all for your replies. I have had it, once very severely as a child and once a couple of years ago as an adult! So I'm not 100% confident that I won't get it again. The baby is also still in virus stage no scabby spots yet :(

FannyTheFlamingo · 27/12/2017 10:24

@Emmasmum2013 We've been TTC for a while but the last couple of months have been particularly stressful for both of us. He's had work stress and I've been sleep training DD and getting no sleep, so we've hardly had time for sex, so I know the exact date it happened because it was the only time in a month! For me, it's the best news ever. For him, because he rarely looks at the bigger picture, it's going to be bad timing. I'm putting off telling him because I don't want him to ruin my buzz!

Emmasmum2013 · 27/12/2017 11:06

Well don't let him! At the end of the day, you've been TTC and this is what you both want. If his work is distracting from that, then thats his own bag of issues that he needs to sort out at work.
You're pregnant and happy - let him see that. If he reacts how you're predicting then just tell him he's got 9 months to sort things out. Its a long time. Hopefully he'll be reasonable.
And when you've got DD sleep trained it will be totally different as well.

pestov · 27/12/2017 11:35

I'm feeling so bloated at the moment! Constipated and gassy with no appetite at all. Really tired too. All I can remember from my last pregnancy is exhaustion at this stage!

BertieBotts · 27/12/2017 11:42

DH apparently watched this at work and has been mansplaining morning sickness to me Grin thought it may be worth a share.

butterfly86 · 27/12/2017 11:55

Been for my appointment the consultant has given me progesterone pessaries again so I've popped one straight in to try and prevent any more spotting. Its tailed off just pale brown mixed with cm now hopefully it stays that way. I had a scan there is a 8mm gestational sac and a yolk sac but no fetal pole yet, they think I'm slightly earlier than I thought and it's nothing to worry about as it's all in proportion not like there's a huge sac and no fetal pole so I go back for another scan in a week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hettyturnip · 27/12/2017 11:57

Hello everyone - Merry Christmas! Been reading, but not posting as I was feeling anxious about my scan this morning. Saw the fetal pole and heart beat! Was so relieved for about 5 mins, until they told me it was small. Now i’m Worrying about how I can be 2 weeks behind???

I second Becks Blue, and I like plain tonic and bitter lemon. I get fed up of all the sweet tasting drinks. I also like that winter Ribena made with hot water, almost like mulled wine...

butterfly86 · 27/12/2017 12:13

Hettyturnip with my successful pregnancy I thought I was 7 weeks when I went for a scan but they measured me at 5 weeks 3 days I couldn't understand it and was sure I was miscarrying again but when I went back the following week it had caught up a little bit, they kept my dates to their measurements but dd was born exactly to my dates so I think I was right all along!

Hortonlovesahoo · 27/12/2017 12:48

Hey all, im also one with tiredness. I slept 11hrs last night and could have slept longer. I’ve also had day long nausea
