We decided when I was pregnant with DD1 that we would have another. DP wasn't sure as we have no support and he works away, but I convinced him I'd cope. We've been trying for a while and I didn't think it would happen. DD has become a terrible sleeper and DP is under quite a lot of stress at work and he's not very good at seeing the bigger picture, so I worried if I tell him, he'll only see our immediate struggles and not appreciate that we'll have 9 months to prepare.

So I'm not really sure when or how to tell him! I'll probably sow the seed today and tell him we'll find out when we get home from the in laws, but that's not till the New Year!

StrawberryLemonade · 26/12/2017 09:22

Babydreaming I’m going to get some maternity stuff in the sales too! Seems like tempting fate a little but also silly not to when I’ll end up otherwise getting it full price at some point. Debenhams online look like they have plenty of jeans.

Welcome poppy and FannytheFlamingo!

amzq pleased it went well telling the parents Smile and hope it goes ok with your sister.

peterpanwendy · 26/12/2017 09:23

@Babydreaming how many weeks are you? I feel like I need new jeans too and I'm only 7+3. I find them sooo uncomfortable I don't like anything tight on my tummy. But there's only so many times you can wear leggings and dresses aren't always appropriate! I obviously have no bump at all but as soon as I eat I'm so bloated any pair of jeans hurt :(

Babydreaming · 26/12/2017 09:39

@Peterpanwendy I’m actually only 7 weeks! I swear my uterus is double the size at this point that it was in my 1st pregnancy though! In my first pregnancy I looked completely normal up to 20 weeks and even then it was a tiny bump! I feel like I already have a little bump this time.

It is early to buy and it may be tempting fate but I do want a 2nd baby so I feel like even if I miscarry this time I will most likely go on and try again and make use for them at some point in the future (fingers crossed!)

Gizzymum · 26/12/2017 09:49

@Babydreaming I had Next maternity jeans. They were really comfy.

peterpanwendy · 26/12/2017 09:54

@Babydreaming yeah so true! I don't really believe in the whole fate/bad luck thing. Just wanted to know if I was normal needing them at 7 weeks. Think I will go for it, have you found any nice ones in the sale?

SmashyCup · 26/12/2017 14:09

Jeggings are a good stopgap before you have to give in and wear maternity jeans. More stretchy around the waist!

Hortonlovesahoo · 26/12/2017 15:38

Thanks for the maternity jeans recommendation. I had a lot of H&M stuff in my last pregnancy.

I’ve has nausea all day and hoping it’s just morning sickness and I’m not coming down with DH’s bug that he’s had all over Christmas

butterfly86 · 26/12/2017 15:56

Afternoon ladies, having a bit of a panic just been to the toilet and it was pink when I wiped then a bloody mucus string, I've had 4 previous mc before our dd was born so I think I know where this is going, fortunately I have an appointment with my consultant tomorrow which is to hopefully get a prescription for cyclogest pessaries, I have had the run around for 2 weeks trying to see if I needed them again I'll be mad if I mc again because of it! Hopefully this is just a glitch but I'll not hold my breath.

amzq87 · 26/12/2017 16:06

@CumbrianExile @StrawberryLemonade sister took it very well really. Bit subdued at first but she's been messaging me ever since with lovely messages and has been shopping for a worlds best Aunty mug on amazon haha!

Hope it's nothing @butterfly86 - try and keep chilled and I hope you're appointment goes OK tomorrow xx

milney25 · 26/12/2017 16:16

Hi @butterfly86, how far along are you? I've had a lot of this and have been reassured it can be completely normal!

BertieBotts · 26/12/2017 16:34

Hand hold butterfly - having a bit of a panic myself after seeing pink tinged mucous but trying to tell myself it will be okay for now. My appointment is on Friday so it's just a case of wait and see :(

milney25 · 26/12/2017 16:44

@BertieBotts Have you had a scan at all yet? I went down to the EPU when my spotting started, I was worrying so much.

BertieBotts · 26/12/2017 17:01

No, I'm only 5 weeks but might get a scan on Friday as I've had one when I booked in before (Germany) - I wouldn't even really consider this "spotting" and I'm not going to rush in as though it's an emergency. It can definitely wait until Friday, it's just nerve wracking when you have miscarried before.

FannyTheFlamingo · 26/12/2017 18:11

I had a couple of non consecutive days of bleeding that I thought was AF, but obviously wasn't. I'm only about 2-3 weeks though so I'm hoping it could be implantation bleeding. Didn't get it with DD1 so I'm a little bit worried.

Also, just had a disagreement with DP because he's very stressed with work (a lot more stressed than I realised) and he's finding DD hard work, so I really don't think he's going to be as happy as I am with the news Sad

butterfly86 · 26/12/2017 18:32

#milney25# I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. So pleased my appointment is tomorrow just hope it stays light it's a light brown now feel a little bit crampy but only very mild.
#BertieBotts# fingers crossed it settle down and you can wait until Friday for your appointment on Friday it really is rubbish when you've miscarried before you automatically think the worst, not that this pregnancy is any less wanted but I feel like I'm in a better position as when it kept happening when I didn't have any children it was so hard not knowing if I'd ever manage to have one, we are so lucky to have dd and when I was was pregnant I said all along if we could get to the end with a healthy child we'd be grateful and that would be it. I'm just trying to tell myself what will be will be and she is a great distraction bless her.

CumbrianExile · 26/12/2017 18:44

Glad it went well amzq87, your DS deserves that mug Smile

amzq87 · 26/12/2017 19:28

She does indeed @CumbrianExile - although, she has just reminded me I shouldn't eat Brie Shock so I've got mixed feelings about her now hahaha!

BertieBotts · 26/12/2017 19:55

Tentatively I've been to the loo a couple more times and no more sign so fingers crossed it's nothing!

Fanny I don't know how you've managed to keep it from your DP Blush I'm having such a hard time not spilling to everyone I've vaguely interacted with since I've found out.

CaffeineDragon · 26/12/2017 19:58

Welcome everyone new & @FannyTheFlamingo that sounds like a really tricky situation, I'm sorry.

8w today. No more spotting thankfully and feel really ill, so I'm taking that as a good sign. Though can't wait to feel well again and have some energy!

milney25 · 26/12/2017 20:19

@amzq87 I'm torn between whether the limited cheeseboard or no wine has been the toughest part of a pregnant Christmas!

milney25 · 26/12/2017 20:31

That's really good news @CaffeineDragon, fingers crossed it was just a short spell Smile

Sugarskulllover · 26/12/2017 20:44

Anyone horrendously bloated?! I'm suffering so much today Shock and so much wind I keep apologising to my in laws. It's a good job I'm not shy 😂

amzq87 · 26/12/2017 20:50

Haha @milney25 - feel you on that one! Luckily our local cheese shop has lots of very tasty pregnant friendly cheeses but I have missed my beer! Went to my fave pub for lunch today and had to have a coke! Ah well - it will all be well worth it in the end x

amzq87 · 26/12/2017 20:51

And yes @Sugarskulllover - DH thinks it's absolutely hilarious 🤣
