Can't believe we need more space... again...

Jamantha - hope all the advice on here helps. Docs sometimes don't realise the uncertainty they can cause. Look after yourself and try not to let it get under your skin - though I know it's easier said than done.

Sorry to hear of everyone's aches and pains as well... Those bits just aren't fun are they.

'lo...

Anyone got any advice on pins and needles? I seem to have them pretty much on and off all day. I'm not particularly svelte, or even remotely svelte if I'm honest but I am reasonably active and so on. I'm just fed up f having pins and needles within five minutes of sitting down. Arms and legs are suffering. Coupled with the pain in my hips it's driving me insane.

Agnes

Myfairone · 17/04/2007 13:41

Jamantha, sorry to hear your worries/concerns, I hope that with regular checks you will be fine. Fingers crossed!

Agnes, its funny you should mention pins and needles because I have noticed an increase in those too! (never really suffered before!)....I don't think being svelte has anything to do with it because I'm rather thin and I have been getting them! I notice that if I sit still in one position for any length of time that I get it really bad....and I noticed that after sitting on the loo (hoping and praying for something will happen) that I get it really badly in my legs! If I find a solution I will let you know

Has anyone else read 'The best friends guide to pregnancy' by Vicki Iovine? A friend bought it for me and I swear it is the funniest book I have ever read. It has had me in tears (of relief) and also tears of joy where I laughed so much! She is spot on with her descriptions of how you feel. Well worth getting if you fancy a laugh!

I'm suffering a little today. Had a really bad tummy ache last night and was worried about LO. Had dreadful upset tum and then felt better but feel really sickie today and feel very heavy down below. Any ideas?

Hope your all okay, sorry for the long post.

Firststar - I actually think I have a bug or something because I just don't feel right, if that makes sense.

How you doing Firststar? Everything okay with you now?

Myfairone, you and me both. I've felt off-colour the last few days, don't want to eat anything, actually was sick this morning with the tiny bit of last night's dinner I managed. Also, utterly washed out. Had a good 9 hours sleep, went into work, had to come home within and our, back to bed for another 3. Honestly not a lazy b*tch, I promise! Am going to see doctor tonight. Think it may be a bug. Also getting odd crampy twinges in tummy. Hope you feel better soon.

Myfairone · 17/04/2007 15:11

Cakehead - Thats exactly it! I ate very little last night and then had the worst tummy ache. Spent a good half an hour in there and felt like I had lost 3 stone! (sorry if that's too much information!)

I slept pretty badly (but always do!) and felt so washed out today and very lifeless (not usually a lazy beatch either!) Definitely think its a bug or bugette!

Firststar - Excellent to hear you are feeling 'good'! Long may it continue

lynnec · 17/04/2007 20:32

Jamantha, think pe was on my doc mind today, after visiting her my urine had traces of blood and protein, she checked my ankles and they were fine along with my bp which was normal (it has been since day one)dont know alot about it, infact only what ive read today, hope everything goes ok for you x

Glad everyone is keeping ok, apart from the sore hips and the pins and needles. Its my back thats been really sore the last week, feel the more i walk the more pain i have. Doc still saying im having a big baby

pulapula · 17/04/2007 21:26

I am getting the pins and needles too, and also cramps in calves and feet particularly at night, but also when bending.

I tried a pillow between legs last night, and no leg cramps, but didn't sleep too well as when wanting to change sides, i'd wake up and have to move pillow.

But I shouldn't complain- I have no aches or pains- tummy feels 'heavy' and low but not painful.

And I'm also thinking of finishing work on 31 May, which isn't very long away!

Jamantha · 18/04/2007 05:35

Well, I may be up early, but I've just had the best night sleep I've had in days Took advice and once I'd had something to eat last night and done the minimum of tidying up, I sat down, put my feet up, piled pillow on my lap, plonked hands on top and chilled out while watching TV. About ev ery 45 minutes I did some hand exercises and by bed time wrists felt much better. Slept propped up with hands on pillow on tummy, and only woke once. Have some numbness in hands on wakening, but no pain, so back to the level it was at last week. And have just taken the diuretic tablet prescribed so waiting to see how (much) it's going to affect me - I see I've just been prescribed a very low dose, just a quarter of normal, so hopefully no torrents! And thanks again for your best wishes ladies. I'm hoping this is just a scare. It's certainly made me think harder about how I'm looking after myself and has worried DH too. I could almost see the worry lines all over his emails yesterday. So thanks again and hope everyone else's aches, pains and tummy problems clear up OK.

Hi all - nothing to add on the pins and needles front I'm afraid, it's normally due to circulation issues I think. For the last few days I've had really annoying mid back pain. I have quite a curvy back which I think is straining it. Looking at this thread so far makes me think this is just the beginning of the twinges!

Justaboutmanaging, my DH saying the same thing, esp as a friend of ours did exactly that. She had about 10 pillows! I'm finding that over time I am waking up less with the pillow moving thing. If the pillow doesn't work I have seen that Kleeneeze do these knee cushions that velcro onto one knee to keep them apart... obviously wouldn't support the bump though.

Have a good day everyone

Myfairone, saw the doctor last night and he was pretty certain it was a gastric bug. The baby's fine, we heard the heartbeat and could feel it wriggling about. Have to say, after another early night, I do feel better today. But the doctor did say I should take the rest of the week off work and start to think about giving up altogether (I commute into London three or four days a week, which ain't fun). Hope you're feeling better swiftly too...

Jamantha · 18/04/2007 12:02

cakehead - hope you are taking some time off. It's doctor's orders after all. And don't envy you commuting into London, especially as the weather hots up.

cyee - I fear you may be right about this being the beginning of the twinges. Fingers crossed that the worst will hold off a while longer. Though as people are saying time is marching on - just had a mental "eek!" on looking at work calendar and noting that I've got a (planned) maximum of 9 weeks left.

auntymandy · 18/04/2007 12:13

morning all. Sorry I dont keep up to date, but hope all is well.

Hi All,

Cakehead, glad to hear you are feeling a little better. I definitely think I had a tummy bug. I know this sounds awful but I didnt have the energy to go to the doctors yesterday! I got home (I commute to London daily too
I collapsed on the couch and slept for an hour before going to bed and getting a fairly good nights sleep.
I too feel a little better today (had to come to work because I have meetings!) but planning on taking it very easy.

Also think my LO did a complete 360 last night. The bump felt very low and quite painful and then all of a sudden I got this stomach churning feeling and it all felt a lot better! Weird this ol' pregnancy lark isnt it!?

Glad that all seem to be sleeping better and that pins and needles are easing up. We all seem to have aches and pains and little niggles but on the whole we are getting there, slowly but surely!

Jamantha, hope that you continue to feel better!

auntymandy · 18/04/2007 16:43

my back is the problem, but musnt grumble!!

typhoonsmum · 18/04/2007 21:09

My moan of the day.

Banks and other companies.

I have always sent direct debits to come out on the 1st of the month. Sky has took one out on the 12th. As my bank account operates a first come first served policy there is nothing left by the 12th so SKY has left me overdrawn.
I phoned to complain and get them to reimburse the impending charge and they told me that they had informed me they would be taking the money then. THEY DID NOT. I would never have agreed to money coming out then. Have written a snotty 4 page email to head office demanding my charge back.
Why do banks let money come out of the account when it is obvious there is nothing in it.
How do I go about claiming all my charges back again?
