You feeling better Scoot?

scootermum · 13/04/2007 20:56

I do feel a bit better today thanks!Have stuck to toast today and risked a bit of tomato soup tonight and no ill effects just yet..so fingers crossed..feel a bit depleted though-but that might be because DD has been extremely testing today!(she sometimes acts up a bit on Fridays as she takes a little time to get back used to just me after her week at the CM's-which makes me feel terrible but there you are..)

Baby is wriggling round madly the little fraud-all that fuss-thank god for nothing

You did make me giggle with your superglue BBB, sorry...only because DH has forbidden me to go near superglue as something always goes awry with it-glad its not just me!(Last time I stuck some laminate floor beading on to one of DH's accountancy folders which he needed to revise from-did not go down well when he had to saw it off to be able to get at his notes!)Hope it didnt take too much skin off when you were removed from the tube..ruddy stuff..I am only allowed PVA or pritstick in our house now..

There is a large pile of letters in our kitchen that I dare not look at-we just shove everything we cant be bothered to open on there till the pile gets too big-the time will soon be nigh..something else for when im off work I think..

scootermum · 13/04/2007 21:38

And speaking of accidents with substances have just managed to spill some Rouge Noir nail polish on our cream bedroom carpet..it doesnt seem to want to come out..the lesson there is not to try to paint your toes when heavily pg..bedroom smells delicious now-nothing nicer than the smell of nail varnish remover..bugger it..the people buying our house will think there has been an accident as it looks remarkably like blood..Will stick some 1001 trouble shooter on it and hope for the best...

night all..God im a clumsy oaf..

largeginandtonic · 14/04/2007 10:01

Morning all.

Hope we are all well, no dodgy tummies, nasty glue accidents, nail polish flinging itself on to lovely cream floors etc....

We should not be trusted to do anything at the moment i fear. I am so massive, my back aches and i have had it with being pregnant. It seems to have snuck up on me, i think i have been concentrating on keeping it in so much i have been ignoring all the other nasties that come at the end. Still not long to go now!

Scooter im so glad you like the buggy, i do love it to. It has served me very well. It was Hugs's fave buggy, he used to ask to lie in it The cheque came today, thank you! I will be bugaboo bidding soon on ebay, i may do the auction stealer thingy, who is a good one? I ve never done it before.

Lovely weather here so am off to the park with the kids later, dh can run around after Hugs, i nearly killed myself doing it for 3 hours on thursday. He wants to do it all!

Happy saturday xxx

LG&T here you go:

auction stealer

I've signed up for the 3 months at $15 so I could do the 3 second steal (it's how I won my bugaboo - so was well worth the money), but you might want to try out the free 10 second steal for a while before resorting to paying for the priviledge.

It's great and I use it exclusively now. I don't even bother with normal bidding!

juliewoolie · 14/04/2007 11:54

Blimey you lot know how to talk I post a few days ago and am now trying to catch up with all thats been going on.

Thank god its the weekend although not sure how its going to be we are madly trying to finish off al our decorating efforts as our parents are meeting each other for the first time tom!!

Df's mum is complaining that she doesnt have enough time to lose weight and my mum will be scouring every shop she can find to see if she can find an appropriate outfit. The poor Dads! We are only going to the local pub for sunday roast the way they are going on about it youd think we were visisting the queen. :O

Oh well suppose I had better get on with scrubbing the toilet, quite frankly I think cleaning should be banned in your last 2 months and a cleaner should be provided on the NHS.

Have a great weekend.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/04/2007 13:03

Hi all.........;

Have you got the beautiful weather too?

Only one thing to say today......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY APRILMEADOW

Oh and I feel the same lg&t, very fed up now, I know it's not long to go but still long enough to wish it on.

twelveyeargap · 14/04/2007 13:25

Weather is FAB. Am sitting on the terrace in my maternity tankini and a pair of those Thai fisherman's trousers thingys which I found this morning, to spare the neighbours any views of lady-wilderness threatening to escape down my legs.

DD is in the shower singing No Doubt's "Don't Speak" tunelessly, at the top of her voice. For DH, it's more a case of "Can't speak". He dropped something off at our mate's house last night and came home looking forlorn as they were all going off to a flash party organised by mate (she's in event management). Told him he could go to the party provided he came back after the party and didn't go to our friend's house afterwards as it's been the location of many a "lost weekend". Needless to say he came back at dawn and is still in bed. Well, it's his last hurrah... That was supposed to be LAST week, but this is well and truely it. I was VERY grumpy when he left last night and as he was getting ready to go and I was being beastly to him he said, "Why are you being so grumpy...." and trailed off. Durrrrr! Clearly I wanted him to just bugger off out and not hang about in the house reminding me of what I was missing out on. That said, I'm glad I'm not stuck in my pit like him, missing out on the sunshine.

He'll suffer later with the paint fumes. It's "paint the nursery" weekend. Well, paint the undercoat and woodwork anyway. Har, har. Rather him than me. I'd have had my head in the toilet by now, regretting the last 5 caipiroskas...

Scoot - I'll bring your dresses with me on Monday. The postman just brought the package back to me! I suspect the Royal Mail calling card is in that pile of stuff on your kitchen table.

twelveyeargap · 14/04/2007 13:37

Oh, feet are not taking kindly to the heat - even my birkenstock's are feeling tight today. Should try on a pair of high heels for a laugh...

SO glad I'm not due in August. Can you imagine?

SKYTVADDICT · 14/04/2007 13:41

Hi all

Lovely and sunny here too. DDs away for weekend and DP gone to football - he wanted me to go too and sit in the car and read. I think he feels guilty leaving me without a car, LOL. I can think of much more interesting things to do really. Just feeling a bit bored at the mo!

No more pains so quite disappointed - really will just have to wait.

Got some nursing bras this morning from Mothercare - only 38D so am quite impressed.

MKG · 14/04/2007 13:56

Hey everyone!!

34 Weekes today, I can see the end in the distance, but it can't get here fast enough. I'm ready to be done being pregnant.

Nothing interesting to report on my front. I hate to say that I am terribly boring.

AbbyLou · 14/04/2007 14:07

Hi everyone, we have got beautiful weather too. I had to do a panic order from Next the other day just to get some decent maternity ti-shirts!
Ds is having a sleep and dp is at work. He finishes at 3 and then is off to Blackpool with bil to other bil-to-be's stag do. He doesn't really want to go as the groom's mates are real beer monsters and will be so pissed by the time dh and bil get there. I think he feels really bad about leaving me too as I was getting so many pains last night and have terrible back ache. My ds (the one getting married) is coming up tonight to stay so I won't be on my own. Not that she will be much use, she'd freak out big time if anything happened!
I'm trying to get the house tidy without overdoing as just a visit ti the park yesterday absolutely did me in. It sounds an awful thing to say but I'm quite glad ds is at the childminders on Monday, at least I can have a relaxing day knowing that he'll be entertained and having fun!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/04/2007 15:35

TYG, poor tokentotty Maddie was born on the 8th Aug. 2 yrs ago here in France, the last few weeks were so unbearable, I spent nearly all day wallowing around in the pool or laying on the Lilo in the water to keep cool. It was 34° the day she was born However it was actually cooler in the hospital than it was out side. Not often you hear that about hospitals. Very glad this one is a few months earlier it is beautiful but very bearable today about 24°. Yummmmm!

M has gone back to bed as she was sooooooo grumpy, I can't be doing with it. H and dh are in the garden making progress with the playhouse, fort, slide thing that dh has been building since last summer. lol Think I might track down a very old copy of a crapy womans mag and have a read in the sun. I have some unread dating back to Oct last year, never mind, one true story is the same as all the others. They get passed round the Ukers here, sad arn't we.

woodstock3 · 14/04/2007 16:42

gawd im jealous of all you lot in the garden! stuck in the office looking vainly out of the window at the sunshine (thank god it've only got a week left at work, 36 weeks now and it's singularly losing its charm).
just got sent some raspberry leaf tea by a kind friend but not entirely clear what its for? is it supposed to bring labour on (not until dh has worked out how to fit the carseat, thanks very much) or just generally prepare you?

westendwoman · 14/04/2007 17:04

Hi I've been reading the May threads for a few weeks and thought I'd join in before it's too late. I'm nearly 37 weeks with 2nd baby baby is small apparently so something to be anxious about in the next few weeks.

V. jealous to hear about the hot weather it's chilly and misty where I live, I'm wearing a cardigan!

AbbyLou · 14/04/2007 17:08

Oh Mrs jb I'm so jealous of your pool. I could just see myself lying on a lilo right now with ds splashing around next to me. I bet your kids are right water babies aren't they.
We've got one of those huge paddling pool things that were all the rage last summer - big enough for lots of adults too as we found at numerous barbeques! I just know if I dig it out the agrage the weather will turn. It took about 2 hours to pump up and 3 hours to fill last time and you have to leave it standnig in the sun awhile to get the water warm enough. We must make sure we look after it better this year - it kept getting algae in it last year. Any advise from anyone would be good.
Well, still getting pains but nothing too bad. I seem to have a permanent crampy feeling now, like permanent period pains which are not so much painful as uncomfortable. Just spoke to dh who says it is absolutely heaving in Blackpool, sounds like hell to me. He has started drinking now so if anything happens we've had it. Fil has very kindly said if anythin did happen he would drive up to Blackpool to get dh which is very kind of him as it is a 2 hour drive!

AbbyLou · 14/04/2007 17:09

Welcome Westend woman, where do you live? What a bummer about the weather!

sunnysam · 14/04/2007 17:57

hi all probably dont remember me i was due to have baby number 6 in may but i lost a little boy in december just thought let you know my good news i am pregnant again about 7 wks am hoping everything goes fine, i am going to join the due in december thread hope they are as talkative as you. good luck with all the iminent deliveries and i will keep you up dated on your postnatal thread

Pebblemum · 14/04/2007 18:11

Hello all

Lovely weather where i am too although ive been stuck in all afternoon tidying up and finishing off my hospital bag. May go and sit out front with all the neighbours in a minute though

Ds2 was born at the end of September and i had to go all through a hot uncomfortable summer before he arrived, it was horrible, nothing i did seemed to cool me down. I used to lounge in a paddling pool but am sure i must have looked like a hippo wallowing in mud Im so glad this LO will be here before it gets too hot

TYG I know how you felt when dh went out last night, my dh has spent yet another nice relaxing day sat in a pub garden catching up with his mates while ive been stuck at home looking after the boys. Normally i dont mind too much but this past week has seen me getting very emotional and grumpy about things like that. Everytime he goes out socially it makes me feel even more fat frumpy and fed up.

On a happier note i won £58 playing online bingo last night. That is how sad ive got these past two weeks, Ive been getting so fed up ive resorted to playing bingo every night to amuse myself

Pebblemum · 14/04/2007 18:11

Sunnysam thats great news, congratulations!!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/04/2007 18:11

Welcome westendwman. Fingers crossed for you that baby is to too teeny.

Abbylou, our pool is an above ground pool, we have decking around it to make it look a little prettier. It is large enough, 6m across and perfect for the kids, much safer as they can't get in when the steps are up. They are water babies. It's the first thing H (4.5) does when he gets home from school through June, clothes off and in the pool withing seconds. Once the school holidays start I can't get him out all day. Keeps him occupied though. It's not ready yet, won't be until probably the end of May, brrrr far too cold yet. The pump and heater can go back on when it reaches 18° it's 16° today so nearly there. The Alge in your pool is probably caused by the water getting too hot, sounds mad I know but last summer our pool got up to 32°, we had to turn the heater off and top it up with cold to stop it getting the Alge. If it has no pump or filter then you can get some tablets from a camping shop that may help, they are what you buy to turn stream water into drinking water, the only other thing is to regually change about a third of the water. Hope your pains don't turn into anything more yet, nice of FIL to offer to go and get him though if you need him.
Sorry everyone else.

Woodstock 3 the raspberry leaf tea is supposed to prepare your uterous for labour, not bring it on. However Aprilmeadow may disagree with me. lol

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/04/2007 18:14

Sunnysam, sorry about your loss Congratulations on your pregnancy, really hope it all goes well for you.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/04/2007 18:15

westendwoman that was supposed to be ISN'T too teeny. Sorry!

westendwoman · 14/04/2007 18:35

Thanks mrs j.b. Anyone else got experience of this 'baby not average size' stuff. I have been checking out other threads.

Abbylou - I live on the east coast near the sea. I'm not too upset as the hot weather makes me a bit grumpy, like I need an excuse at the moment, just funny to think of people sunbathing in Tankinis just doen the road.

AbbyLou · 14/04/2007 19:21

Whereabouts on the east coast are you westend? My dh comes from good old Skeggy and my mil and sil still live there as do lots of dh's other relatives. Mil is a pain in the arse so don't go there very often if we can help it. I get on much better with dh's step mum tbh.
Mrsjb it sounds like bliss. Whereabouts in France are you? I've just heard from dh and he's in Pizza Hut with bil. Apparently the stag was the most sensible of all last night and was in bed for 11.45. All his mates stayed up until 6 so they're not really up for drinking tonight. Suits dh down to the ground to be honest. I'm making him sound really boring but he's not I just think he feels as though he has been there, done that and he's got more important things to think about now. He's rung up twice to speak to ds before he goes to bed!! He's a big softy really.
