So pleased that they arrived. Guessing they wont make it til lunchtime!

SKYTVADDICT · 07/04/2007 10:17

Morning all

Have been keeping up but not much to post.

Hope you are having a quiet weekend LG&T. We have the DDs this weekend and so far they have tried to do sequin eggs (got fed up after 10 mins!) and are now painting pot rabbits we made yesterday. Seems to be going well so far. Somehow though always ends up more stressful than fun, or is that because I have to clean up!

Hope you have a good time at fair SOH.

I was 37 + 1 yesterday and feel really ready now. No doubt will go overdue because I am SO ready.

Re the MRSA - I would keep the baby well away too - surely they will understand.

aprilmeadow · 07/04/2007 11:08

Just had a text from Lupins. Little man is coming along and they hope to be home next week. Have sent her everyones love and congrats.

ShowOfHands · 07/04/2007 11:09

Good morning all!

LG&T I see your KKs and I raise you a box of gingerbread bunnies! I have been sitting in bed with earl grey, a bowl of porridge and gingerbread bunnies, grinning like a loon. AM, you are a lovely lady! How cute is the image of ds dressed in his most eclectic outfit collecting sticks? Sorry to hear about g'dad and MRSA. Of course if Ella comes early you cannot possibly see anybody who has been in contact. It doesn't help that you will feel guilty but it's entirely necessary. Our local hospital had a nasty infection in the SCBU at New Year, affecting several small babies and my friend was in there with her newborn. She left quick smart. The infection was not at all damaging or even noticeable in adults.

Had a surreal moment last night at about midnight. I was dusting the top of our units (home of the ornaments) and one of the scary chickens accidentally went flying. The damn thing flew through the air, smashed my vase and landed beak down embedded in the carpet, not a scratch on it. Evil voodoo thing's got supernatural powers. I stood over it shouting about putting it in a box for about 20 seconds before I realised I had lost the plot entirely and needed to go to bed. It's back up there this morning smiling at its friends.

DH had an interesting night at work too. An incredibly drunk man didn't seem to like the fact that DH wouldn't let him deal drugs in the corner of the pub, stripped off and started shouting at DH. Included in his threats were 'I'm going home to get my samurai sword and I'm going to kill you dead' and 'I'll set the whifflers on you'. WTF is a whiffler? DH assisted his removal from the building, called the police and the guy sat outside on the wheelie bin all night shouting 'I know the whifflers'. Best of all we found out last night that between now and starting in the police force DH is moving hotels and going to manage another one from next Saturday. Brillig news, no more evil woman. He took great pleasure in telling her!

Anyway, must rush as I need to pack for London. AM I love you, thank you so much for the gingerbread delivery!

Hope it's sunny everywhere else too. I'm going to the fair. WWWWHHHHHEEEEEEEEEE!

Go Cambridge! (boat race today)

ShowOfHands · 07/04/2007 11:10

Fab news about Lupins. I hope her Carpal Tunnel disappeared overnight too. Can't wait to hear all about her little man.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 07/04/2007 12:28

Yey, Go Cambridge, all the way, we agree SOH.........

Glad everyone is OK. Beautiful here today, 25degrees. Ummm! Garden jobs today.

Great news on Lupins and her little man.

SKY, 37 weeks, you don't have long to go, whey hey, lucky you.

SOH, was worried about you climbing ladders, good job you didn't. The sight of lg&t on a tractor would have been enough to start you both off. Joint country lane birth in the depths of Norfolk. Have a fab time at the fair and a lovely time in London (if thats possible. )

AM, sorry to her about your delema, I think you have to play it safe. You can't take any risks, the family WILL understand. I'll catch you later.

Back into the sunshine for me.

MKG · 07/04/2007 16:19

Hi everyone,

Well if you had talked to me yesterday I would have told you that this baby was going to be here already.

This is all way TMI but yesterday I had about 4 bowl movements, tons of clear discharge, and the worst twinges ever. All I kept thinking to myself was "It's way to early for labor now". I had so much pressure on my fanjo that I thought if I stood up he was going to fall out.

I thinking I'm just psyching myself out, and this baby will probably end up in June, but I definitely feel like he has dropped lower as I have an appetite now, which I haven't the last few weeks.

twelveyeargap · 07/04/2007 18:50

Evening. Took the car to Costco today for it's maiden voyage. Apart from taking off with the handbrake still on (seems it's easier to forget in an automatic) and wondering why the hell there was no oomph from the 3.4l engine; I managed fine. Even managed to park it at Tesco's later AND on my street. It helps that half the street seem to be away for the weekend, but at least I'm getting some practice parallel parking a car the length of a bus.

We have 9 people coming for a barbecue tomorrow. It's supposed to be 20 degrees. Seems a shame to waste it. The original plan was to have 2 or 4 people for a big spring lamb roast dinner, but it morphed into this. Anyways, never been to Costco before. Much cheapness. DH was moaning on the way over saying, "please don't let's stay longer than half an hour" and when he walked in he was very excited by the bargainousness of everything. It was quite funny.

Sorry to hear about your grandad AM. Hope he recovers soon.

I got my stork pressie today. Yay! Am posting on the stork thread lest Marslady be cross with me.

cameroonmama · 07/04/2007 18:57

Hello all, sounds like there is just too much nesting and twinging going on at the moment. You are all making me feel nervous. I am trying to train dh up and encourage his nesting instincts too, sadly his have yet to kick in. He keeps trying to make me rest and this afternoon was convinced I couldn't make a 1.5k walk, whilst 3yr old ds should be able to manage it without a peep.

I dread even to think what SOH has been upto at the fair

April, sorry to hear about your grandad, I do hope your dad doesn't get ill too, a tricky one, but fingers crossed it'll all work out fine.

SKY if its any consolation my two only manage 10 mins tops on the arts and crafts thingies and i have to resist the urge to dictate where exactly they should stick/colour/paint everything. Maybe I'm a control freak

I hope everyone has had as lovely weather as we have, we are going for a picnic tomorrow, instead of the full monty roast lamb extravaganza, actually its a bit of a shame I was looking forward to really stuffing my face. Anyone else permanently hungry?

aprilmeadow · 07/04/2007 19:19

LG&T how long did the KK's last then?
SOH hope the gingerbread bunnies went down well.

Been to my mums today as my little sister turned 20! Its strange coz i remember my dad coming home and telling me and db that we had a sister. Had lots of yummy party type food - we still celebrate birthdays with the same enthusiasm as we did when we were little. sandwiches, mini sausages etc and jelly followed by cake. I just tucked into the food and kept catching dh looking at me as if to say 'oh my god where are you putting all that food?'.

We then went into town and i managed to get a new changing mat from mamas and papas. Its really pretty and comes with waterproof towelling inserts for baby to lie without getting chilly on the cold mat. There wasnt a price on it and nearly died when she told me that it was 28 quid!!! Felt to embarrased and chav like to say 'oh actually i will leave it thanks'. Just need a nappy stacker thing now. Am bidding on ebay at the moment so shall have to see how that goes.

The weather has been lovely here today and ds has been loving being able to play in the garden.

Feeling quite heavy today (36+2)and been getting a fair few bh's as well as uncomfortable squirmy movements from bubs.

Thanks for the advice on the whole g'dad/mrsa thing. My mum (parents are divorced btw) has suggested that i print out all the info i have found and check with my mw that thats the best way forward. Once i have that and have her comments i should talk with my dad and explain it to him. Both dh and i feel the same and wouldnt want to put any of us at risk just so that my g'dad doesnt get upset. I just have the interesting job of breaking that to him. aarrrggghhhh families!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 07/04/2007 19:41

Hello all on the May thread I'm still hanging on in there from the March one .

I see there's been some queue jumping going on?
Actually the April girls have been pushing in too .

Good luck to you all, happy births

scootermum · 07/04/2007 19:55

Hi all,

I didnt see a calling card anywhere largegandt..hmmm, not sure what to do now as am at Mums and have no email address here to email you from..I will email you from DH's pc on Monday if thats ok and then you can send me the details back?Glad to know its safe and sound though!Sorry for all the faffing round...think I have your hotmail address written down in the back of my diary-if not will have to check back with you..
Hope you have had a lovely day out with dh?Whered' he take you?

TYG-How did it drive? Will look out for a jag when next im on your road..I know what you mean about the big car though-I have trouble enough parking dh's new company Passat-and that has those annoying bleepy censors on it!
Have we any Tuesday plans yet?

Good news re Lupins indeed!

Hope you have had a lovley day out in the sun Mrs JB..FWIW I bet all your mates miss you just as much as you miss them

Well done on getting everything ready April-Ive still done feck all-im like you Jonah-everythng still in the loft, probably mouldy..Its all waiting on me finishing work, only 7 working days to go..

Have a lovely time at the fair SOH and a good journey to London town..

Well have worked like a dog and finished a further 2 units of RMA.However DH has done bugger all revision for his exams and has now gone out with some people from school, leaving me with a very crotchety dd, (teething).I feel quite cross wirh him to be honest as he was supposed to work today so we could have a bit of family time together tomorow. This now wont happen, as he will either panic at his lack of revison and want to do that or more likely be too hungover to do anything..Also feel a bit betrayed by him as some of the people he is going out with used to bully me at school, which im aware I should be over by now, but im pg so the normal rules dont apply..I just fel a bit more vulnerable than normal at the moment I suppose im probbly fussing over nothing..Will eat some Apple crumble and take the dog for a stroll to try to regain some equilibrium!

twelveyeargap · 07/04/2007 20:43

Hi Scoot, I know what you mean about feeling let down when your DH does things like that. Mine sometimes does an "up all night" when he has to do a presentation for clients the next day. He will have known about it for weeks and I feel annoyed and let down that he's stayed up all night and made everyone miserable because he couldn't get organised.

Well done for getting your own work done. That's great.

Email me on twelveyeargap at googlemail dot com and I'll give you my mobile number. Don't just look out for my car when you're on my road. Pop in and have a cup of tea for goodness sake!

Going off to have another cry. Just texted friend to say goodbye... Her flight to Australia leaves soon. Boo hoo.

Know what you mean MrsJB. I was in distress when I moved here becuase I missed my friends back home. It's weird, becuase you can be in contact all the time, but knowing you're in a different country just makes all the difference.

woodstock3 · 07/04/2007 20:53

Not sure etiquette of this, am i allowed to join so late (due may 14)? just couldnt resist after i read all the nesting/cleaning posts - we moved house last week and i ended up in tearful row with DH cos he physically restrained me from manically cleaning our OLD flat to the standards i was convinced necessary in order to, er, leave it.
hoover now broken through overuse on the new house and sunny weekend has only made me think i should be out in garden yanking up ground ivy that is strangling all the flowerbeds (obviously baby will notice overgrown flowerbeds.....). does this go on to the end or will i eventually just bore myself into stopping? am usually total domestic slut.

largeginandtonic · 07/04/2007 21:17

We are having roast lamb, mmmmmm My fil and mil have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

AM my KK's lasted till the end of my cuppa tea They were soooo delish.

I have heard from Lupins......she is doing well and so is the little one. He has a name now, Arlen. Very cute. She was just about to have her drain taken out, ouch! Poor thing had lots of bleeding and it was quite hard going as she has lots of old scar tissue. Hopefully it will all be ok now.

I am massive, people are staring at me now when im out

MKG will we be having a birth announcement soon??????? I hope not. we want him in a bit longer yet please

Easter bunny tomorrow, yipeeeeeee. Does he bring to our babies even if they are in utero? I think he should really......

thankyou largeginandtonic! and yes, if the easter bunny doesnt fetch up with a pile of chocolate tomorrow (for the, ahem, baby of course) harsh words may well be spoken in our household....

twelveyeargap · 07/04/2007 22:45

Welcome woodstock.

aprilmeadow · 07/04/2007 23:17

I am pretty certain that Ella has turned!! There seems to be a spine going top to bottom on my LHS. Normally when she has a shift around i feel a spine going from side to side. Also been having some pretty strong and fairly regular tightenings. Trying not to read too much into it and also not wanting to freak dh out too much. Although from the look on his face when various odd shapes are being made out of my stomach i think he starting to get a little anxious!

Anywho, going to bed now and will no doubt wake in the morning to find she has gone back to breech. ho hum

night night

MKG · 08/04/2007 00:47

Nope no birth announcements from me, I think I'm just paranoid, but I do think that this baby will come sooner than expected.

aprilmeadow · 08/04/2007 08:41

Hi there Woodstock - welcome to the madness!

Happy Easter to you all. Hope the Easter Bunny brought lots of yummyness to you all. We only got one each and J got about 10. Decided to not to buy for each other as we could 'help' ds eat his. We got him a tiny weeny noddy egg and 2 toy cars.

Went to bed last night still having tightenings and odd alien movements and as predicted nothing else happened. Been having a few more this morning but i guess its just everything getting ready. Will find out on Tuesday whether baby has decided to go head down - i am pretty sure she has. Cant believe i only have 3 and a half weeks left. It seems to have gone really quickly especially since Xmas.

We are going to be taking ds to Alton train station today as they have a Thomas the Tank Engine exhibition. You can go for rides on Thomas, Percy and other engines as well as seeing the Fat Controller and other characters.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

aprilmeadow · 08/04/2007 08:44

Its good to hear from Charley...George seems to be doing well..have thought about her alot over the weekend..

Welcome to Woodstock-not long to go now..Nothing like moving when heavily pg is there?I did it last time and I too nearly burst something I shouldnt have cleaning the old place-then ran around like a maniac getting the new house fixed up to my very high, (then)standards-ready for my lo to arrive..remember one particularly ugly moment in Laura Ashley when I nearly burst into tears becasue the balck out bline I ordered wouldnt be arriving till a month after the baby!Such a magical time,

Will email you tomorrow TYG when am home...might well take you up on the cup of tea..careful, you may never get rid of me..

I have been having one or two tightenings over the weekend but nothing like Thursdays BH, thank the lord-dont you go de;ivering on Thomas the tank engine April!(I bet they would give you free rides on it for life though-like when your waters break in M and S and they give you some vouchers..is that even true?!)
