@shortcake76 confession time - I'm also wfh today and have sneakily done a test! I have known for 3.5 weeks now but still using those flipping internet cheapies!! Hehe.

@IrnBruCraver sorry to hear you're feeling so awful. I hope the medication helps things along and makes you more comfortable. Can you take it easy this weekend?

shortcake76 · 13/10/2017 16:37

Hope the ginger and the medication kicks in soon. You're having a rough time.

Sictransitgloria · 13/10/2017 17:23

I was a bit worried as I don't have any symptoms except sore boobs. I don't have any food/drink aversions, in fact I was lusting after Belgian beer (my fave) during our little staycation this week. I could also drink coffee but have limited myself to one cup a day. Anyway, I convinced myself that I wasn't pregnant, but took a CB digital and I am definitely preggers. I feel really weird - does anyone else feel similar? Like in disbelief? I am 5+4 weeks (edd: 11th June) and know the dreaded sickness may arrive next week when I go back to work. I don't want to tell anyone at work until after the 12 week scan. I'm going to have to work hard to hide symptoms tho, I work in the children and families sector!

P.s. Hope those suffering with horrible symptoms feel better soon x

Emz01 · 13/10/2017 19:07

@Sictransitgloria I’m also in the same boat as you I’m a day ahead at 5+5 and basically have sore boobs and tired. Sometimes I wonder myself if it’s actually real as I don’t feel too bad. It’s early days still though as with DS the nausea kicked in at about 7 weeks.

Impatientmummy36 · 13/10/2017 19:21

Hi all, made my booking in appointment for 8 weeks, and a scan for 8 weeks at Epu, so it's feeling a bit more real. Had a blood test as well to test hcg levels ok... won't hear til mon/tues though.

For anyone worried about lack of symptoms, honestly not everyone gets full-on sickness etc... with my little boy, I had some mild nausea (just feeling sick never actually was sick) and although I'd say I had food preferences and dislikes, I can't say I went off food or even coffee (just had decaf). And nothing kicked in til at least 6-7 weeks. Boobs didn't feel different for ages. Think anything counts as normal in pregnancy.

The tiredness is definitely here though. Thinking cold feet and bed for me. Just wish there was some chocolate in the house! X

Sictransitgloria · 13/10/2017 19:49

Yep, I'm a first timer and don't really know what to expect! I'm tired but I'm always tired due to work.

When are you all planning on sharing your pregnancy with family and friends? I am in a quandary about it.

Emz01 · 13/10/2017 20:09

@Sictransitgloria I told my family at about 6 weeks with DS but as my last pregnancy ended in mc at 6 weeks so I’m a little more cautious. I will probably end up telling close family at about 9 weeks as long as my early scan goes ok at 8 weeks. Doubt I will be able to hide it much longer than that as I started showing at 10 weeks!

@Impatientmummy36 hope your early scan goes ok! How long have you got to wait?

Sictransitgloria · 13/10/2017 20:39

Sorry to hear about your mc @Emz01
Flowers

I live 90 miles away from my family and want to tell them soon really. I am worried about appointments clashing with work as really don't want to tell them yet (I started 2 weeks ago!)

Bunnyears85 · 13/10/2017 20:42

Last pg I waited till the 12 week scan to tell everyone. My mum was furious I hadn't told her sooner and she didn't speak to me at all for 6 months and our relationship was awful after that. Just told her about this pg at 6 weeks and she was over the moon.

HolyShmoly · 13/10/2017 20:50

I'm going to tell my mum after my early scan, if it all looks ok. I think I'll tell my boss too, if I end up getting morning sickness, etc it means that I'll have that covered. I also get paid for antenatal appointments so I should be able to get them all off no issues.
We'll tell the rest of our family and friends after the 12 week scan and over Christmas. We're from Ireland but living in the UK so I won't have as many prying eyes as some of the rest of you. I really, really can't wait to tell my goddaughter, we've had a goo at baby clothes different times and she's keeps saying that she can't wait till I have a baby.

ladydolly · 13/10/2017 21:01

I told my mum at 5 weeks, mostly to stop her booking a holiday around my due date. I told work at 9 wks last time so they would go easy on me and they understood when I was working from home due to nausea. I might do the same this time, depends on how rough I feel.

blondie1001 · 13/10/2017 21:20

Hi everyone can I tentatively join? I got my bfp yesterday and I'm due 21 June. I feel a bit behind everyone else! This is my second baby - my little boy is 2.5. We were trying for ages this time around so it's still sinking in! Not sure when I'm going to start telling people - I want to tell everyone now - it's so hard to keep it quiet!

LJFM2B · 13/10/2017 21:24

Hi all! I'm planning on waiting until the scan this time to tell everybody due to miscarriage last time. I feel like our parents built on the excitement last time which was amazing but it was like twice the pain when it lead to mc. I know they will understand and will be over the moon that we can show them there grandchild. Although it's going to be so tough as we're all soo close and I love all the foods I can't eat!!!

Had my docs appointment today after the bleed after sex incident as they said they would refer me to EPU. but he said he didn't want to and that we shouldn't have sex until 2 trimester and that I should be on bed rest for 2 weeks!!! I can not take that time off work and work don't know so I'm going to just take things VERRRRRY easily. DH got a takeaway tonight and has waited on me hand and foot. I will make the most of this and now early night for me. Xxx

xxmissbrightsidexx · 13/10/2017 21:26

In my previous pregnancy we told barely anybody, because i had a really bad feeling of dread that something was going to go wrong, and it turned out my instinct was entirely right.
This time round i could easily get away with not telling anyone til the baby arrives, i live far away from all my family and the only people that live near us are OHs mum/dad & brothers, and we barely see them either. Im really wary about when to announce, im just taking 1 day at a time and seeing how it all pans out if that makes sense x

LJFM2B · 13/10/2017 21:27

Ps. I'm on serious knicker/wipe watch as well as constantly touching my boobs to make sure they're still sore. I don't think Iv ever taking so much notice of my "bits"

Bunnyears85 · 14/10/2017 07:14

Are we on a new thread yet?

Bunnyears85 · 14/10/2017 07:22

Thread number 2 here! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/3059704-June-2018-babies-2 Don't want to lose anyone!

senzaparole03 · 16/10/2017 12:25

Hello!

First time pregnancy here! I'm 3/4 weeks gone with EDD end of June by my calculations.

GP appointment booked for Friday morning. So many questions!

So excited, but so nervous!

SylvesterTheCat · 16/10/2017 14:02

Congratulations @senzaparole03! We are on the new thread so see you there!

carringtonm · 17/10/2017 20:36

Has anyone else had absolutely no sickness yet? I’m just over 7 weeks and apart from feeling a bit sick once or twice, have had none.

Obviously I’m not hoping to be sick, but it is making me worry that things might not be progressing as they should.

I do have other pregnancy symptoms - extreme tiredness and very sore and big boobs. I suppose I’d always heard that pregnant women get morning sickness so am surprised that there hasn’t been any.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 17/10/2017 20:45

I have had any sickness and I'm almost 7 weeks now. Some people don't. This is my third pregnancy and I haven't suffered morning sickness with any. My Mum had 4 children and also didn't have morning sickness. I am sooooooooo tired though, increased appetite, sore boobs and constipated!

CoffeeChocolateWine · 17/10/2017 20:45

*haven't had any sickness

carringtonm · 17/10/2017 20:52

Ah thank you @CoffeeChocolateWine, that’s really reassuring. I’m the opposite when it comes to the bowel movements! Blush
