That scan photo cheered me right up! I’ve had a hard day with morning sickness (started at 5am with my head down the toilet. Repeatedly) and was feeling so rough at work I had to fess up to my boss. She’s proper excited for me and very supportive. I never had morning sickness with DS (yes, hate me. I deserve it) so I was really unprepared for how shit I feel.

LJFM2B · 12/10/2017 18:33

BoofayTheOompaLoompaSlayer how lovely - although That's odd I didn't see that!!! Post again! Xx

Bunnyears85 · 12/10/2017 18:33

@curliegirlie - Where shouts are you? I gave birth to DS at Stoke Mandeville and plan to go back there with this one!! Smile

@Lorz - Congratulations and a fab photo!

@zoo - Sorry to hear about your DP. You must be so stressed. I'd give him a kick up the arse! Keep us posted. Hope you're okay.

@gerty - Congratulations on your BFP! Rest up and relax, sounds like DH has got it sorted!!

@Shutupanddance - I'm also 6+1 so if we're right in our dates we're due date buddies! 6/6?! My son's 2nd birthday is on 19/6 so hopefully DC2 won't be too late!

Mummyloves09 · 12/10/2017 18:35

@Boofay and @Lorz80 your scans both lovely, and im glad to see such great progress in your pregnancies Smile.

IrnBruCraver · 12/10/2017 18:39

Oh I must have missed it @Boofay! Sorry chuck.

Lorz80 · 12/10/2017 19:08

Thanks for all your lovely comments. It's so nice to know that there's really something in there and that the hellish way I feel is gonna be worth it. I've been off work all week and have no energy. I struggled out the house to meet my dad for dinner last night. I was only out for about 2.5 hours and was shattered when I got home!! I constantly feel nauseous and exhausted and have major food aversions to almost everything. Once an avid coffee lover, now I can't stand the smell of the stuff!! So fed up of not wanting food!!! I promised myself I'd eat all the right things for my little sticky Bean but I'm only managing bits of toast and salt and vinegar walkers!!

ladydolly · 12/10/2017 19:30

I have my early scan next friday. Lovely pic!

I'm already in bed. Will be asleep by 8.

The smells, ohh the smells. The work dishwasher (stale soapy smell) makes me hurl and today dd got a new hat by post. The person who had knitted it had put a dryer sheet inside, I nearly cried it was so strong!

OP posts:
IrnBruCraver · 12/10/2017 19:33

Yep the smells! The puppy went to a new home today and just in time because the smell of him was overpowering (but only to me) and I can still smell him everywhere and it's turning my stomach so much.

Gerty1002 · 12/10/2017 19:34

Loving that there are scan posts already! Congratulations! I must admit I've looked at those early private scans and been tempted but not sure if it's worth it for the sake of waiting a few weeks (assuming it takes a couple of weeks to book in)

petalsinthegarden · 12/10/2017 19:44

Can I join? I'm 5 weeks today so no symptoms etc as of yet. I have 9 month old DD already so was a bit of a shock.

Due 14th June (roughly)

When did everyone's symptoms start? For some reason, I seem to have forgotten everything already! I remember feeling a bit sick but can't remember when it started, and same with some cramping.

Pool28 · 12/10/2017 19:50

Hello,

I want to book an early scan but not sure how many weeks to wait until? Am currently only 4 weeks ... do people think 6 weeks is too soon?

curliegirlie · 12/10/2017 19:53

Bunnyears85 - I’m in Chesham. I also delivered at SM last time as we moved house when I was about 36 weeks! I’d be happy to go back there again - the midwives (and student midwives) in the delivery suite were lovely. Breastfeeding support was a bit lacking in the postnatal ward (though the breastfeeding clinic was good) but this time - if I get that far, touch wood, seems early to be thinking post birth! - I’ll know to come armed with Medela nipple shield!

HolyShmoly · 12/10/2017 20:01

Yay, scan pics! And I remember yours Boofay, I'm sure I commented on it!
I called about one yesterday to check that the date I planned would be fine. They say 8 weeks on the ad, etc, but that's mostly in case you get your dates wrong as I think it's in your 6th week that the baby's heart starts beating. The place I called will also do internal scans or do one rescan if need be. I think I'm going the Saturday after next when I'll be 7+3. I'll possibly tell my boss after this scan when I'm booking time off for my proper scan. I might tell my mum too, but I know DH won't be too keen on that. His mum has blabbed about something before so she won't be getting a second chance at an early secret. some grudges don't die
GP confirmed that I should be fine to get my hair dyed, so at least that's one thing I won't have to find an excuse for as I was so excited when making the appointment (before getting BFP) that I told colleagues about it. I wasn't sure how I was going to explain my still dull hair.

Bunnyears85 · 12/10/2017 20:04

@Curlie couldn't agree with you more! Labour ward - Amazing. Post-natal lacked BF support but overall very happy with SM! Agree re the nipple shield!! Grin I'm just outside Wycombe so just down the road!

lampert · 12/10/2017 20:34

Does anyone know when it's normal for boobs to stop being so sore? I feel really worried because my nausea has gone today, my appetite is back and my boobs aren't feeling tender. It's like the symptoms have vanished overnight. The only thing I still have is feeling exhausted!

I'm somewhere between 7 weeks & 7+4.

Caspiana · 12/10/2017 20:37

I don’t know but I’m in exactly the same @lampert, hopefully nothing to worry about.

Bubble04 · 13/10/2017 06:57

Congrats on the scans ladies. Feeling a bit envious... I'm trying to stop myself booking one but seriously tempted. Still 3.5 weeks till my 1st midwife appointment, and then a wait for 1st scan. Just want it confirming so I know I'm not imagining everything lol x

IrnBruCraver · 13/10/2017 06:57

I'm going to have to give in to the pain and go to the doctors today. It can't be normal to be in this much agony with your bowels. Sorry if tmi but it's like constipated diarrhea accompanied by terrible pain in my lower tummy that shoots down my legs, shaking and hot flashes. It also exacerbates my already very strong nausea. Anybody else experienced anything similar? Also do those wrist bands work for the sickness?

pulpi · 13/10/2017 07:10

That sounds horrific @IrnBruCraver ! I’ve not experienced the shooting leg pains, but I have been getting lightning vag. Ouch!

shortcake76 · 13/10/2017 07:31

Go and see somebody to put your mind at rest. Hope everything is ok for you xx

Is anybody else experiencing really bad headaches?

ladydolly · 13/10/2017 07:32

@irnbrucraver definitely get to the docs, being preg is hard enough without bowels playing up!

I SWEAR by the bands. I would not have survived my last pregnancy without them! I highly recommend. And if they don't work for you its only a few quid wasted.

OP posts:
Lulu298 · 13/10/2017 07:39

Hope the docs can help ironbru.

I've had awful hives from wearing new unwashed leggings. They've been terrible. I'm hoping the chemicals on the clothes haven't affected my 6 week bean Sad

Is anyone else having the flu vaccine? Got an email from the NHS yesterday saying pregnant women should have it...

LJFM2B · 13/10/2017 07:55

Hi all! IrnBruCraver Iv had a bit of a confused tummy to be honest, doesn't sound as bad as what your experiencing but either one way or the other with out going into TMI. Hope they sort it out.

I had a major wordy last night, has anybody bleed after intercourse? It's only the second time since me and DH "did the dead" after we found out as I'm super nervous and always bloody tiered. But last night I bleed after - when I wiped and some was on the sheets. Nothing this morning but I'm SO nervous but feel silly to ring midwife.

I kept waking in the night checking if my boobs were still sore .. I'm now convinced there not as saw as yesterday.

Somebody tell me this has happened to them? ...

I'm getting the sort of de ja by I do not want

Pool28 · 13/10/2017 08:19

Yes I bled after sex twice so have stopped now lol because I was scared

Also keep checking my boobs are still sore I’m not sure I can cope with this for 9 months

curliegirlie · 13/10/2017 08:43

Yes, I’ve also bled a little after sex. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.
