hopeful go to boots, they usually have scales that do your height and weight and you can buy a sample pot for 30p or something!
Its really just a load of questions, nothing hugely important happens (had mine this morning) though you might have blood tests if you're going to them, mine Was a home visit

SinkyMalinks · 06/09/2017 15:21

Hopeful last time I went to the appt ready to pee and was given a sample pot there.

Is there a fb group? I'd like to join, I'm rubbish at keeping up on mn!

LivLemler · 06/09/2017 16:16

Starshine and Harriet, it's lovely to hear such positive and great news from you both!

MrsDneedsaB · 06/09/2017 18:20

Amazing news @starsshine what a lovely little pic! Any explanation for the bleed?

Was told by the midwife today after a bit of a panic that cramping is to be expected in the next couple of weeks where your abdominal muscles are trying to push baby up and out of the pelvic area - makes a lot of sense!
Also constipation gives you cramps Blush

Aspenn17 · 06/09/2017 18:48

Great to hear everything is ok @starshine :)

Ok so I just told my line manager and now I'm freaking out. Only 7weeks but been late in a couple of times this week because of scan and sickness so thought I would be honest. He's promised not to tell anyone until I say it's ok at 12wks, but I'm panicking now that it was too soon Confused ugh stupid hormones

Sam91TRS15 · 06/09/2017 19:07

Aspenn, I wouldn't worry about telling early. Your boss can't tell anyone but if the unthinkable happens they will be able to understand any time off needed. I told my bosses a week before my mmc, and they were so thoughtful and gave me all the time I needed

Poppyandpeaches · 06/09/2017 19:24

@Aspenn I've found it a lot easier that my boss knows. I've been really struggling with sickness/exhaustion/anxiety and they have been pretty understanding. Have had a terrible day today though - barely been able to eat and feeling like car sick all day long. Thinking about going to the doctor tomorrow but don't know if there is much point? Just feeling a bit down that I still have 4 weeks to go until the magic 12 week mark - seems so far away and don't know how I'm going to manage until then!

JammyC · 06/09/2017 19:55

Poppy and Aspenn interesting to hear how you're both feeling about having revealed early to your bosses. I've got my appraisal on Friday and I'll be either 6+4 or 7+4 depending on my dates. Scan booked for 16th. DH thinks I should wait to tell him, until we've had a scan and we know it's viable. But the pregnancy tests I'm taking are getting stronger and stronger! I also know there is a lot of business planning for next year going on at present and I feel like I should give my boss the full picture. So tricky. I think I'll see how my gut feels on Friday and go from there. We have a great relationship with a lot of trust, and I'm widely considered the number 2 in the team to him, so I feel like I should tell him out of respect for the trust we have with each other.

Last time I told my line manager so I could go to the GP appointment and scan without raising suspicions. He was fine but that was a different company, this one is a little less mummy friendly.

fitbitbore · 06/09/2017 20:16

I told my boss the day after I found out cos I had to go for a scan that week and I couldn't be bothered lying.

MrsDneedsaB · 06/09/2017 21:31

I'm a bit scared to tell my boss to be honest. They were fantastic last year after my MMC and very sympathetic, however at the beginning of August I was promoted to department manager after my colleague left and they've now hired me an assistant who started only just last week!
She's fantastic and will really get on great but this is her first office role and I feel terrible leaving her to be the only one in the department for possibly up to a year. I don't think it will go down well with my boss who has grand plans for me now that I've been promoted Confused

harrietm87 · 07/09/2017 07:44

I'm going to leave it as long as possible before telling work. I work in quite an intense competitive environment and am doing well at the moment. This probably won't go down well and will affect the work that they give me and their perceptions of me, so want to try delay that long as I can. I didn't tell them about any of my mcs for that reason either. It's such a shame as I know it shouldn't be like that in this day and age but it is.

Ideally I'll wait until 16+weeks but depends how much I'm showing!

itsgoingtoofast · 07/09/2017 08:02

@starsshinebright so glad to hear all ok after your fright! And great to read of the other positive scans too.

@Aspenn17 I think you are quite right booking another scan. The regular scans have helped keep me sane this time. You've got to do whatever you need to get through!

I had a second scan yesterday, at 10+1, everything was perfect and got to see the baby wriggling around like mad it's amazing! The midwife was asking how I was feeling and said it was common for symptoms to be a bit inconsistent around now as the placenta starts to take over. So that seems to be what a few of us are experiencing now. Hopefully will feel consistently better soon. Now on the countdown for the 12 week scan, 2 weeks today!

I was wondering if Kate was maybe amongst us! I was pregnant at the same time as her when she was expecting George too

crispydumpling · 07/09/2017 08:40

what a fab scan @starshine - how many weeks are you now?

I had a scan in EPAU yesterday because I had a bit of bleeding on Friday, turns out I've got a subchorionic haematoma but they said it shouldn't cause any problems because its adjacent to the sac rather than under it. My dating scan is meant to be on the 26th but I haven't had the appointment through yet, the nurse at EPAU looked it up for me yesterday.

Sunshinesaz86 · 07/09/2017 09:39

Hi ladies, took me a little while to realise we've moved to another thread!

Glad everyone's scans recently have all been good and reassuring.

I'm 9+6 and feel symptoms are starting to lift a little, though definitely noticing a few aches/stretches especially if I've been busy/active.

Is anyone else noticing that?
Oh and tmi my body has decided to give me thrush! Brilliant just what I want/need luckily midwife said I'm ok to take pessary and cream so fingers crossed it'll start to shift.

As of early pregnancy wasn't delightful enough Blush

flippityfloppity · 07/09/2017 16:25

Tentatively popping in!

Due 29th April. First scan next week - we have had quite a few miscarriages now so absolutely dreading it with worry. All seems good though, fingers crossed!

Anyone else so tired they can barely function? And the bloating, oh man - the bloating! I'm ok progesterone pessaries this time which won't be helping but it's so uncomfortable!

starsshinebright · 07/09/2017 16:32

Thank you all, they couldn't see any reason for the bleeding. I'm 10+1 today!

I phoned in sick for the first time today, have felt awful all day. Tiredness, unrelentless sickness and sky high emotions! Don't know how I'm going to get through tomorrow Sad

starsshinebright · 07/09/2017 16:33

Congratulations flippity. I've also had a handful of miscarriages - it's such an anxious time! Hope this is your rainbow baby Flowers.

I understand the tiredness, I'm shattered all the time no matter how much I sleep! It feels never ending at the moment.

FairfaxAikman · 07/09/2017 19:32

Bugger. My colleague guessed today. Just the two of us in the office.
I was feeling nauseous this morning and had to head to the loo as a precautionary measure and then a contact came in to try and recruit me to a charity white water rafting thing - to which j told him "I can't".

Colleague asked if I was in same boat as the Duchess.

MrsDneedsaB · 07/09/2017 19:37

Congrats flippity the first 12 weeks is always nerve wracking especially with past mcs, a few of us have had them so we know what you're going through

Yes to tiredness, I thought I was getting a little less tired but nope - still in bed by 9pm and sleeping in past my alarm

Finally got my scan date through, 22nd at 9:40 I'll be 12+5. We are scan date buddies @fitbitbore!

MrsDneedsaB · 07/09/2017 19:40

Ooh @FairfaxAikman male or female colleague? Women tend to have an intuition about these things.

My sister guessed today because she said I was touching my stomach differently - I'd just been complaining of stomach ache stupid constipation she should know though, she's had three herself!

fitbitbore · 07/09/2017 20:01

@MrsDneedsaB no way!!! my scan is at 9.20. I think I'll be 12 + 4, two week wait for the scans!!!

FairfaxAikman · 07/09/2017 20:05

Male Mrs. I'm the only woman on my office

RosesForBadgers · 07/09/2017 20:15

I can't wait for my 12-week scan next Thurs, bang on 12 weeks. It's an open secret at work already though. I finally made it back to work this week after nearly a month off with sickness, with the help of Stemetil, but still very up and down. I'd rather people know what's going on than think I'm being flaky or unreliable because I don't care. Can't wait to hit the second trimester and start feeling better!
