@roses yes not had anything since so really hoping that's it. Sickness is definitely not letting up so taking that as a good sign!

LivLemler · 11/09/2017 14:44

Fairfax :O What a dick! I don't know why some men feel it's ok to comment on women just going about their business like that. I'm sure you look lovely - and even if you are somehow the least attractive woman walking the earth ( Wink ) I'm sure you're smart, funny, a good friend - loads of important things that derive from your fabulous brain and not from what some dumbass thinks your legs look like while they're doing their job of transporting you around.

olicat · 11/09/2017 17:48

Fairfax also thought I'd weigh in to say what a dick. What a small man in every way. When stuff like that happens I content myself with thinking about horrible things happening to them. Probably not good karma but never mind! X

harrietm87 · 11/09/2017 17:51

@FairfaxAikman I agree with what everyone else has said - what a total
dick - ignore it! I can't understand why people behave like that.

I had my booking in appointment today and 12 week scan is booked for 2 Oct when I'll be 12+4. Can't believe I'll actually get there but starting to feel more real!

And omg I've put on 7kg!! My BMI is now 24 from 21 so I'm still just inside normal but I feel absolutely terrible! I've been on steroids and side effects are hunger and weight gain, and I've definitely been eating more as feel nauseous when hungry. I'm so hoping the weight gain eases off into the next trimester or it's going to be awful. Can anyone advise from previous pregnancies??

Sam91TRS15 · 11/09/2017 18:15

Fairfax, I'm so sorry about that dick. Obviously had his own issues if he feels the need to shout shit at a stranger. Unfortunately for him it won't make anything bigger for him...
Harriet, I started my first pregnancy 7 and a half stone (I'm little, so bmi wasn't low, just normal range), and by the time I had gotten round to weighing myself after birth I was 13 and a half stone! You do what you need to do to make yourself not ill and if that means eating just do it! I'm now 9 stone 3 going into this pregnancy, so I never got back to my previous weight but it does eventually come off! Plus I don't exercise or diet so if I had been strict I'm sure I would have managed to get back to my prepregnancy weight.

starsshinebright · 12/09/2017 03:29

I've been sleeping really badly, keep waking up during the night for a few hours and then being exhausted all day. Luckily I'm off work this week which helps! I just want a full nights sleep 😕

FairfaxAikman · 12/09/2017 10:31

Just back from my booking I appointment. Got to go back for a fasting blood test as I have a high BMI.
Apparently this means I get extra scans after 20 weeks - which I'm not unhappy about.

FairfaxAikman · 12/09/2017 10:32

Feel like a bit of a pin cushion though - midwife couldn't find a vein (blood donor service always manage well enough) and ended up having to have it in the back of my hand, which I always hate.

MaderiaCycle · 12/09/2017 16:41

I have my booking in appointment next week but all of my symptoms have gone. I don't feel sick anymore, not up in the night, energy is back and the pain in my side has gone. Should I worry? I asked the nurse at my asthma review today and she said to try not to worry butneasier said than done! I'm 10 weeks today.

Sam91TRS15 · 12/09/2017 16:53

Madeira, 10 weeks is a common time for people to start to lose the symptoms, but if you are concerned you should call your midwife. Either she will reassure you or get you checked out.

Parney · 12/09/2017 17:29

@Madeira it's round about 10 weeks that the placenta starts taking over I think. Relieving you of some symptoms. Very hard not to worry, my nausea has completely subsided now at 11+3.
@Fairfax I had that test with DS due to family history, all was fine but I'll probably get t this time too.
Hope you start getting sleep soon @stars.
Has anybody been for their 12 weeks scan yet? I've heard of people being called around 11 weeks. Mine came by post today for Monday. Excited yet so so nervous.

Thelostsock · 12/09/2017 17:38

@Parney mine is Friday. So nervous too, keep thinking I've just made it all up!

Sam91TRS15 · 12/09/2017 18:05

Mine is on Tuesday, I can't wait! Really just want to make sure everything is fine. I have been struggling to sleep too, constant dreams that make me think throughout so end up more tired than I started! I think it's just the stress of not knowing how things are going

boatrace30 · 12/09/2017 19:19

Mine is next Wednesday!

FairfaxAikman · 12/09/2017 19:19

October 6 for me.

boatrace30 · 12/09/2017 19:19

@starsshinebright - I'm with you on the sleep. It doesn't get better either, not until your baby is about a year old 😂

OP posts:
Thecomfortador · 12/09/2017 19:48

Ha, yeah then it all goes to shit again around 21 months
I've had some vivid dreams though, when I've actually managed a stretch of sleep long enough.
Booking appointment on Thursday then scan booked while I'm there.

Sam91TRS15 · 12/09/2017 19:48

Haha boat, I wish! DD didn't start to sleep through the month until she turned 2 (about a month ago) - so now with pregnancy I still am not getting any sleep!!

MrsDneedsaB · 12/09/2017 20:29

Next Friday for me! Excited and nervous.

@Fairfax what are the extra tests you have to go back for? My BMI is astronomical at 39/40 and I've put on about 3/4kg since finding out but I wasn't informed of any extras...unless they're doing them anyway due to my PCOS and prolactinoma, always knew I was going to be consultant lead even if I was a healthy weight.

My scan appointment letter was a bit confusing - at first they say don't worry about turning up with a full bladder and then in the next breath it says "you should have a relatively full bladder so drink 1 pint of water 1 hour before" ummmm wth?! I'm going to go with a full bladder and just pee if they need me too, rather that then be turned away for having an empty bladder!

Parney · 12/09/2017 21:18

Wow we'll have so many scans close together here! Exciting! Good luck @thelostsock it looks like you're up first! Can't wait to see all the scan pics.

@MrsD it's a glucose test, checking for gestational diabetes. Usually around 28 weeks, involves fasting then drinking a lot of lucozade and having bloods drawn on the hour for 4 hours. My bladder was too full last time and they let me out to pee. So just make sure you're well hydrated and don't over do it. It's important to stay even more hydrated in the days leading up to the scan too for a clearer image.

I have booking appointment tomorrow and am dreading being weighed. DS is 9 months and I have yet to lose all of what I gained with him!

Parney · 12/09/2017 21:21

My bladder was too full at my 12 week scan with DS NOT during the glucose test Blush I wasn't very clear.

FairfaxAikman · 12/09/2017 21:26

Mrs just extra growth scans. There's also a family history on both sides of type 2 diabetes so they want to keep an eye on it.

MrsDneedsaB · 12/09/2017 21:45

Ah right! That makes sense. Hopefully all goes well for you Grin like you say it's not exactly terrible to have more scans

Thanks for the info Parney, I did wonder about the glucose tests. Feeling like a pin cushion already let alone when it comes to that!

fitbitbore · 12/09/2017 22:14

@Parney why does being well hydrated a few days before give a clearer scan pic???

olicat · 13/09/2017 07:27

Argh posted too soon. Anyway last night i dreamt I lost the baby and woke up really upset (though massive relief when it was just a dream). My mum is coming down this weekend so hoping she'll calm me down!
