Hello all! Long time no see.

I feel that I can come back to this thread as I have spent the best part of today getting things for the baby - every time I come on here and read about packed hospital bags, and freshly washed babygros, I get a real panic on! Anyway, I have bought nappies, cream, wipes, cotton wool, toiletries etc etc today, and some new maternity jeans (finish work on Wednesday and not sure that the uniform of wrap dress and fishnets will cut it on the school run/shopping trips), some brikenstocky type sandals in a nice neutral beige-y colour, all my presents for the end of the term/school year, and a lovely raspberry brulee cheesecake for the dinner party we're having tonight! The sun is shining and I feel very happy, even though the last three days at work are likely to be stressful, I can remember last Saturday very clearly and it doesn't seem like a long time ago, therefore, the end is definitely nigh!!! DH is upstairs marinading chicken in a Thai paste and hoovering, and DS is having quality time on the Tommy Zoom website. Bliss!! Only downside is that I was awake at 4.30 am and haven't really got back to sleep since - came down and snoozed on the sofa a bit listening to Radio 4.

I can't believe how close we all are now, I notice that quite a few have already "popped" on the April thread, I wonder who'll be first from here? (My money's on lgt, although I assume charleymouse will be any minute now too!) I see JonahB occasionally at Caffe Nero, she seems fine, and is very beautifully blooming!I hope all these breech babies sort themselves out soon - I think there's still quite a bit of time for them to upend themselves.

Apart from that, it would seem that all is more or less well with everyone (MKG, you have my heartfelt sympathy regarding your DH, he really needs a kick up the bum), hopefully I will be on a bit more once Mat Leave kicks in!!!

LupinsBigLump · 31/03/2007 17:15

SOH I would say thise peeps in mcare were deffo excessive - they probably wont use half of it

I too got my baby shower gift, just got to wrap and send, not 100% what i was after, dd ended up helping to choose [hmmm] hope recipient thinks it suitable

Am pooped have done 2 town trips (1st time wouldnt let me use card so ha to go back with dps card) and a trip to shops up the road, laundry, lunch, shopping for food - have hobbits feet again!!

Have a good evening all xx

cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 18:52

Hey all

MKG - can't believe your H is giving you this grief (A) at all (B) now while you are pregnant Have you thought about going to couples counselling? In my 'limited' experience when things are like this about the only way things can improve is if you can both talk about it with someone else in the room referreeing. He's kind of opened the door by saying we need to talk, things need to improve. You really don't need this shit

Lupins - so sorry to hear about you aunt. Let us know how the op goes

DB - every time I do more walking than normal I have exactly the same pains you are talking about and I'm sure it's a ligament thing cause I also get Braxton Hicks and they feel completely different

SOH - YAY for your DH. That is just magic news Keep us informed about the bitch from hell. I love to hear someone getting their well earned comeuppance

Benson - enjoy the wine. I can't wait to get a bit more wine back into the diet. Particularly a cold glass of white wine while sitting in the garden in the sun

LG&T - glad to hear you got to Plymouth ok. Enjoy the resting up

Hello to everyone else - hope your Saturday's are going swimmingly. Have had a lovely day with DH mooching around the shops buying bits and bobs. Lots of plants for the house and the garden - finally getting my herb garden happening YAY

cameroonmama · 31/03/2007 19:19

Hi there, I have been lurking for many months without plucking up the courage to join in, I feel like I know you all so well already, please may I join you for the last stretch?

I am expecting dc3, flavour unknown, sometime around 10 May by c-section. I have a dd who is 5 and a ds who is 3 and I seem to spend far too much time at their schools/pre-school and at the park to have much time for prolific posting but will try to keep up!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 31/03/2007 19:29

Of course you can join us cameroonmama, Good luck trying to keep up. If you've been lurking then you'll know we are gass bags.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. How's it going? Are you joining the breeh club or the ceph one?

Thanks SOH, actually you are right it doesn't really matter what a name means. You don't normally introduce yourself with the meaning of your name. "Hi, I'm Macie, as in meaning Weapon so stay AWAY" lol

My name means Pure afterall.

OP posts:
cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 19:46

Hey Cameroonmama - more the merrier How has your pregnancy gone so far?

Jaffa - totally forgot to say. I really like Macie and the spelling is lovely too

cameroonmama · 31/03/2007 19:49

Thanks mrsjb, I like the name Macie, it'll work well in French, (you are in France aren't you?) my dd is Daisy and she was always pronounced Dayzee, which was v cute, my ds was a Bernabe.. I am also PURE well that's what my name means anyway..

So far so good on the pregnancy front, apart from the fact that everyone expects me to be dropping any day now, even the man at the local rubbish tip commented on the fact and asked his colleague if they were prepared if I dropped there and then, in true rural Somerset fashion, he replied 'Is it like delivering a cow? If so should be fine'

I'm a ceph, both dd and ds were emergency sections so the consultant said section again then but it does help on the planning front!

cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 20:00

I need to stop reading threads like this. Just makes me cry and worry about the moments like this I'm going to have to deal with with Bean

this

Mrsjaffabiffa · 31/03/2007 20:02

Yes cameroonmama I am in France. Glad things are going ok with your bump. I am beggining to get a little impatient to be honest. I hate these last few weeks. Like you this is my 3rd and because of that there isn't really alot of preparing to do before to fill these weeks. Daisy and Bernabe are lovely names.

Hey Tam! You've been a bit quiet lately, are you working too hard?

Well, we've had a really good response on Macie. I've had a thread running under pregnancy all day and haven't had a negative comment on it. YET. Could jump to the top of our list then. Well above Emélie as that was the only other one. Miniapple will probably be a boy so don't actually know why I'm bothering.

OP posts:
cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 20:04

Hey MrsJB - yup working bit too much I'm afraid but only 4 weeks to go!!!! Whoo hoooooooo

scootermum · 31/03/2007 20:14

Evening all,
Welcome cameroonmama..Always nice to have a newbie..And nice to see you back too Intheseshoes-hope your last three days fly by..

I have got my secret stork present today as well-but not really sure about it..Want to get one more bit, more for the Mummy than the baby, before posting..

Macie was on our list for dd1 and dd2-I think its lovely, either spelling and it goes with your other lo's names as well Mrs JB.
I told my friend that we were going to call the baby Mae yesterday and she got so excited picturing it that she cried..so sweet..

What are you having in your herb garden Tam?When we move I think im going to have one-unless my allotment comes through before then in which case will have it there maybe with the rest of the veg..(gawd knows how I will get time to do an allotment with two babies in tow but still-might be midnight digging at first!)

I spent a bit in Mothercare this morn SOH but not a grand..Blimey..Did treat myself to a new change bag though.I left our one on top of our electic hob when dd was about 8 weeks old and I was very sleep deprived, and the flap on it kind of melted a bit-never replaced it as it was still useable but thought would get the new baby a nice new bag..

largegandt-I trust you didnt walk to Mothercare? Will you PLEASE sit down!

We took dd to Harlow town park as well today where they have a big farmyard with loads of animals that you can feed and stroke, all for free. She had great fun following a white duck round and getting generally filthy in the sun..She had her appointment with the consultant too and pretty much got the all clear except she still needs the oestregeon cream on her bits a while longer-but kidneys all fine so thats a huge relief..

Am now faced with a dilemma.I should do my homework tonight-there is nothing on TV really and if I get it done today I can settle into watch Persuasion tomorrow night guilt free..But I really want to get in the bath with a bowl of ice cream and sack it off..I know what the mature and sensible decison would be..But Im also reverting reapidly to the teenage me that used to leave all my homework to the last possible minute..Am giving myself till 8.30 to decide...

Anyone heard from TYG?She finished work yesterday didnt she, so maybe she is out celebrating?Hope she is ok..

MarsLady · 31/03/2007 20:16

Coooooooooooooooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Could you all please post on the secret shower thread and let me know what you got if you've got it! Saves me trawling through the millions and millions and millions and millions of posts!

Thank you!

cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 20:20

Hey Scoot - I spent some time in Mothercare today as well and all i had to show for it was 1 tube of nipple cream

We bought pots of thyme, oregano, mint, parsley, rosemary and coriander. Can't wait to get some tomatoes (don't the plants just smell incredible), chili's, peppers and basil and I'll be a very happy little gardener

cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 20:22

Also bought a jasmine plant for the fence, orchid for the bathroom and big palmy thing to go by the cat box to kind of kid ourselves it's not there and doesn't smell

An allotment sounds fantastic. I can't tell you how much i am looking forward to spending time in the garden this summer with my bean and all those delicious scents wafting over us and the cussies as they frolic after the bumblebee's

scootermum · 31/03/2007 20:26

I have just read that thread Tam-I know what you mean-I dread my kids getting bullied or anything like that-I was bullied pretty badly at school as I was quite geeky looking and it was just horrible-not sure how I will cope if similar happens to dd's..
Its so awful that the world is like this sometimes..

That said to some degree I do blame my Mother-she should've twigged I would get picked on with eyebrows like Dennis Healey and some truly horrendous home made clothes-(nothing wrong with homemade clothes, BTW, just the ones I had which were based on patterns my Mum had for her in the 70's!)

cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 20:28

scoot - I had to google Denis Healey

scootermum · 31/03/2007 20:32

Im going to have some runner beans I think and scramble some sweet peas through them to make a sort of edible but quite pretty display..
Will the Chillies grow outside or will you have them under a cloche thing?I grew some on a window sill once but they didnt have room enough to get very big really..I want to have some huge ones when I get the chance..
Also was reading somewhere that you can grow Blueberries in a pot really well and they look really nice so might give them a bash as well..

Am getting very excited re my garden now Tam!
Its 8.31.Lets face it, work is not going to get done tonight..Im such a dissapointment to myself sometimes..

scootermum · 31/03/2007 20:36

Did it have a picture of him?Becuase seriously, im not exaggerating!

With re cat box by the way-our one smells grim as well-but we have found this new litter-Bob Martin crystals and its really good, if expensive-but we have found it doesnt need changing as much..

God how sad to be discussing cat litter on a Saturday night when I should be out carousing or whatever other 27 year olds are doing..(Im a bit grumbly this eve as all our non babyfied mates are out in London and we couldnt get a sitter, plus realistically I dont have the energy, even if the will is there!)
My shoes came from ASOS today though so am wearing them as I type to pep me up..

scootermum · 31/03/2007 20:58

Off to bed now-taking work folders with me so might do a bit before I nod off..compromise..Plus dh wont tell me off as much when he gets back from Tesco..he loves going to Tesco on a Saturday night as he claims its the ultimate in non busy-ness.I think he might be having an affair as surely not normal male behaviour? But not knocking it as it saves me from having to go!
Night all

Bensonbluebird · 31/03/2007 21:17

Scoot and Tam -allotments are fab. We asked some friends to share ours with us recently because there is no way we'll be able to keep up with two little ones. Just about to put in potatos, broad beans and onion sets and get some salads going indoors.

SOH - hurrah! so sorry you had to go through all that pain before getting a positive result.

Got my secret stork present today. Thanks! going to post on the other thread to keep Mars happy.

Went out for a birthday trip to see some dance last night which was quite loud and certainly woke the bean up.

Gotta go and eat.

cinnamontam · 31/03/2007 22:18

Hey Scoot - sorry, went off to have dinner so wasn't around to chat. I bought some sweet peas as well and some poppy seeds and big sunflower seeds so hope to try and grow them as well.

I've never grown anything in the UK before so no idea how i will go with the chillies. The issue I always had in Oz was them getting burnt and not getting enough water - doubt that will be an issue here I'd love to put in some more vegies but don't really have the room unless i dig up some of the lawn. Great idea about the blueberries - i looked at some but wasn't sure how they would go so think i might go back tomorrow and get a couple of pots.
Love the sound of your DH - mine gets the same way with shopping as well and the times he prefers to go. At least all the hot chicks should be going out on a Saturday night not scoping out our hubbys in the supermarket.

Benson / Scoot - keep me posted on your gardens. We can start posting some pictures once things are really going

Bensonbluebird · 31/03/2007 22:27

I've grown chillis outside before (in the frozen north too). They would do best in a green house but should do ok if they are in a sheltered, sunny spot.

DP wanted me to say that dinner was cooked by him! (very yummy it was too) says that men get bad press on mumsnet. I say they often deserve it.

Off to bed now

MKG · 31/03/2007 22:30

Hey everyone!

I'm doing better today. H (the d is slowly getting worked back in) wasn't an ass yesterday. I don't think he realizes how he makes me feel. I've decided that I may be overreacting because of pregnancy sensitivity and hormones, and I will weather this storm until after the baby's born, because I know that it takes 2 to have a fight and maybe I'm being as much a bitch as he is an ass.

LG&T-- They aren't worried about my weight loss because I've put on a whopping 38 pounds already and I can afford to lose a few. Also movements have increased. I explained that my appetite has decreased a little so, and I'm not a ravenous as I was before. They said not to worry and as long as I keep fluids up and am eating in general there's nothing to worry about.
Anyway 32 weeks today. For some reason I put this as a landmark week for me, and am happy that it's here. I'm totally ready for the baby to come, all I have to do is wait.

largeginandtonic · 01/04/2007 11:08

Morning all

I braved town but didnt walk too far... I got my secret shower pressie (i love it) really hope she does too

Had a fit in clarks trying to get Jonah his school shoes, no nice ones in and a "oh we cant order them in" from very unhelpful girl\child working in store. She said we could do it online, 30 frustrating minutes from both me and dh on the laptop later and a snotty email is winging it's way to clarks, as we could not see how to do it!

I managed to get one emma jane bra in jojomamnbebe (we have a shop here) but the elle macpherson ones i was after come up soooo high you would see them under every top i wear Im not wearing polo necks just cos im preganant ffs, grrrrr

Had a few painful tightenings last night so dh was watching me like an unexploded bomb....prob due to the walking i didny do....

I think we have a name for this boy, Iolous has been dropped due to the looks and do you spell it\ say it's. I was getting fed up so i would imagine being called it was not going to be great for the child at school etc.... So i think he will be BEAU ALEXANDER cute i think. We will see, mil and my mother keep saying it's a girl anyway....nooooooooooooo

Have been texting TYG she has been soooo busy at work training up her replacement i think she comes in dead on her feet. I cant see how you train up someone to do a job like that, most of it must be knowing all the people that work there inside out. I would imagine she has character sheets for all them as reference

Welcome cameroon, glad to have you with us. Whats been happening then? Any exciting tales to tell, we love gossip on here. Oh and SOH loves porn.....

Helloooo intheseshoes, glad your ok. Not long for all of us now i hope! Sure i will be the last one standing

Am out for lunch today with my parents, being driven and dropped off outside before you all start jumping up and down.....

scootermum · 01/04/2007 11:23

morning all,

lovely day out today..
Might go to the garden centre in a bit as now want to buy some seeds and things and if I put things in pots I can transfer to the new house..plus our local garden centre is fabulous as it has animals and a little train for the kids, plus a nice cafe and gift shope bit for me..Its so nice they run coach trips to it!

Glad your H is behaving himself more now MKG..Ive totally lost my apetite at the moment..with re your weight loss..havent noticed any effects on my huge rump though!Probably because Igraze now rather than eat..

DH was going to go the the library today to do some studying. He hasnt gone and is now nagging me to think of somewhere we can go..might be another trip to the park this aft if we dont go to garden centre..normally we would go for a decent hike but I havent the energy I dont think-plus DD wants to walk everywhere at the mo, so better to take her somewhere she can run around...DD has learnt to give me a proper kiss with pursed lips and everything this morning-she really is a love at the moment..

I did some work last night against all the odds! But still a load to do tonight. However I am stopping whatever im doing at 5 to 9 to watch Persuasion on ITV.I have been looking forward to it for weeks..
