Morning.....

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DizzyBrummie · 30/03/2007 14:52

Maybe it's just when I walk a lot (don't normally do much walking/execrise)

BTW, Happy Birthday!!

Sounds like quite a big case of wine.

I'm quite looking forward to a glass of red once LO is born, the bottle has been sat looking at me for quite a while now

Bensonbluebird · 30/03/2007 15:18

I do have the odd small glass of wine, but seeing as I'm going to be breastfeeding I'm not going to be drinking much more after I pop for quite a while. DP doesn't drink that much so is going to end up drinking it very slowly himself.

It was heavy btw, the delivery man insisted on carrying it in himself.

LupinsBigLump · 30/03/2007 15:21

Pebble Congrats on your pink one, how cute!!

LW good to hear from you, glad your back home safe and sound, lol at your sis flippin teenagers - what are you doing going to bed at half 12 where do you get the energy to be up that late!!

Befnelbub hope the bp comes down

SOH my mum is very into cath kidson, had to buy her some soap for mums day - how much!!!! glad she didnt want a duvet cover or something lol

Poor Dejags - what a horrible thing to happen

Dizziebrummie - do you think it could be the strain on your ligaments - if you arent doing alot of walking around as normal they are probably under the strain of the extra weight - hope that makes sense

I have had a lovely if not very busy day, slept quite well for a hippo with sore hands, got up in a realxed manor - no school run, step dad called said he was in town went for hot choc and shopping with him - had a look for my baby shower pressie but the thing the person has aked for I cant find in the right colour - I will not give up!! town again tomorrow!! then had dd's easter fair, she had a great time and I got to natter to other mums, not something i usually do but there are a few nice ones there, am now having a sit down - house looks like a bombs hit it, tons of washing and I am just too relaxed to do anything about it heheehe

On a not so positive note my aunt was diagnosed with lung cancer last week and had her surgery today, just waiting for news, dont have a clue how bad it is or what her chances are, will destroy my uncle if things dont look good after surgery, she is his world

Right am going to load dishwasher - ready to make more mess cooking dinner

Oh didnt get refered for physio by gp - she said as she didnt know how long it would take I was just better of going to but a splint at the local chemist, which I did and it has been better, cost bloomin £25 tho, am sure she was just trying to save nhs money

ShowOfHands · 30/03/2007 15:28

I do hope your aunt has a positive prognosis lupins. How frightening for you and your family.

Bit with your GP about the referral. I was given the number for our hospital's obstetric physio and was given an appointment for a couple of days later as I was pregnant and only likely to get worse- no danger of being put on a waiting list. All splints, support etc provided by the physio. Sounds very naughty of you GP not to at least try. When pregnant you can self-refer to the physio anyway I think. I hope the splint works.

largeginandtonic · 30/03/2007 15:40

Hello everyone!

I made it to Plymouth without giving birth

Am still on the couch but at least it's a different couch!

SOH your pressie sounds intriguing.....i love apple bobbing and bloomers, so will Mathilda Poor dh being scared off paracetemol, hope it is only temporary.

I dreamt about chopping mushrooms last night, i could actually smell them, so weird

Scoot i have emailed you about the buggy details.

TYG is working way too hard training up her maternity replacement, glad she finishes soon. I love her.....my bag is never out of my sight. SOH i too have a Cath Kidston sleeping bag and i really wanted a tent last year (the cowboy teepee one)

Pebble i hope you get uour pink one in the end, they are nice to dress up

The shopping trolley pushing is the worst kind of movement you can do for your back. I cannot do it anymore and have to online shop. It is so bad for you, stop it straight away, send out for takeaway.

MrsJB im so glad you got some cadbury chocolate, i have been too side tracked to get it in the post to you. Was worrying about you being deprived.

Am off to watch dh unpack some more stuff, bless him he is doing it all. I feel utterley useless

MKG · 30/03/2007 16:17

Hey everyone.

Well H (D is gone for now) just keeps doing things to make himself more of an asshole. Last night he came home and said that we needed to work on our communication. I thought to myself, "Hey wow he wants to work on things" Well he went on to tell me all the ways that I need to change, and I asked him if he could please become more active in the care of our kids. He said "No". So pretty much I have to change and he's happy with the way he is. I'm glad that someone is. He thinks that the problem in our marriage is me, and that if I change all our problems will go away. He complains that I don't repsect him. Everytime he opens his mouth I lose more respect and hate him a little more.

I'll be surprised if we're still married two years from now.

MKG · 30/03/2007 16:19

Sorry I'm such a downer.

I hope everyone else is doing better than me.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 30/03/2007 16:33

Oh MKG, he sound very self centered, he obviously can not see what he is doing to you. I hope he realises his ways before it's too late.

lg&t, How is Sunny Plymouth? Glad you made it oK and big pat on the back for N doing all the unpacking. You stay right on that couch huddled into your Cath Kidston bag.

Have eaten 1 creme egg already, it was just so scrummy.

SOH, I agree, my kids would far rather enjoy apple bobbing straight into flour for an ice gem, bitting dougnuts off of a hanging string than any table full of e numbers.

Dizzybrummie, It does sound very much like it is just your lower abdomen saying, hey, stop I've walked too far, it's what I refer to as bump ache! My friend lent me a bump support, I found it really comfortable whilst I was skiing.

Lupins, I'm sorry about your aunt, I really hope the news is good.

Off to the dr's with M in half an hour. The last of her hep b jabs. I seem to spend my whole life at that surgery. Good job our Gp is rather dishy. lol

ShowOfHands · 30/03/2007 16:41

MKG... oh you poor lady. Wish I could help in a more practical way but I can think of you. I don't know whether to be sad or angry.

Just need to say one more thing...

DH IS A DRUG FREE ZONE!!!!!

Norfolk constabulary have just phoned him. All tests completely negative. He is in the police force!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 30/03/2007 16:47

Blimey SOH, I've done enough dancing today on Chocolate grounds and now I'm off again.
See spooky, I knew there was gping to be news today thats why I asked about it earlier.

Really that is just the best news, CONGRATULATIONS MrSOH, I am so pleased for you both.

OP posts:
scootermum · 30/03/2007 19:57

Yay, great news SOH!Now you can scamper off to the fair famous five stylee and hopefully have a ripping time..I have a Cath K rain poncho too, which was the envy of last years v festival, if I say so myself!

MKG-Chin up-think for now you will just have to concentrate on your lo's and stuff the h.Then when things have settled after the birth consider it all with a clear head-I know it cant be easy-sending you a big best-of-British hug..

Befnal-hope your bp is ok-try to relax over the weekend eh?

Gandt-will pick up buggy email on Mon when I get to work-not ignoring it!Glad you got to Plym ok-they showed the sunrise in Plymouth on GMTV Weather this morn and I thought of you safe on your couch..

Im tucking in to my third creme egg of the day now mrs JB and loving it!

Hi to everyone else...Hope you and bumps all ok..Have just scanned thread-will go back for more detail after tea..

Still feel quite miserable about work yesterday today-spoke to my manager about it earlier and she was quite supportive, but really feel as if Ive let myself down by getting cross when that was clearly what the woman was angling for..
Also still have my cold and for some reason have developed a sort of sound delay in one of my ears-like a speaker on the blink-its quite weird..I hope it goes soon as its getting on my nerves a bit!

On the bright side DD has been a real angel today-she has played quietly with her toys, had a long day time nap, (unheard of) which let me put my feet up for a bit, and played nicely with her 'friend' (from the antenatal class we went to for her), whilst his Mum and I ate some of my 1st attempt at largegandt's chocolate tray bake recipe, (lovely) and reminiced about when the babies were tiny-they both looked so big today walking around and laughing at each other..the last 14 months had just flown really..

DH is watching the cricket..sooooo dull.Have got a load of homework to do but have lost all motivation..perhaps a nice early night instead with OC dvd to pep me up..

scootermum · 30/03/2007 21:16

Have just read about Dejags cat.How awful..that horrid man with her 6 yr old..Good Lord..

LupinsBigLump · 30/03/2007 21:59

MKG maybe he is going through a phase like my dp did the other month, I understand how you feel, big hugs to you xx

SOH - yipeeeeee to mr soh, really pleased for you both

LGT get some rest now you down in Plymouth

Befnal that goes for you too - wherever u are

Have a good weekend all

largeginandtonic · 31/03/2007 08:00

Morning all. lazy saturdays all round?

The two miniest demons are stuffing cheerios and dh is trying to blank out the noise with the duvet cover

I just read dejags thread! How awful, poor cat and poor dejags.

Scooter hope dd is a good girl today too and you get some homework\oc watching done!

SOH and MrSOH such fabulous news on the drugs test, we new he was innocent. Does that mean no major move to the city light for you then? Phew.....

Oh ive read all the posts and now forgotten, i should have a piece of paper here. Had to do a stinky nappy in between (enough to make anyones mind blank)

Am going to venture out today, minimal walking, to get some nursing bras. Mine are sooooo tired and grey looking having done entirely too many children. I have packed my hosp bag so want to have them ready. Although i will of course be the last one left now after all this messing around from babylargegin.

Im also thinking up an Easter name.....

largeginandtonic · 31/03/2007 08:05

MKG poor you and your nobjockey of a H, hope it is just a selfish phase and he comes round. So unfair to do it to you while your pregnant and vulnerable. Im also not sure you should be celebrating a 3lb loss in weight! Are you not supposed to be putting it on????

As i am at MIL (she has scales) i stood on them and was pleased to see i am still 12 stone. So still only 2 stone put on, yay! Not sure i should be thrilled at that but it is good for me, im normally a 13 and a half stone monster by now.

LupinsBigLump · 31/03/2007 09:41

Lgt - you take it easy!!!!

Nothing to report just popped in to say good morning

Mrsjaffabiffa · 31/03/2007 10:24

Good Morning all........

Not much in Sunny France to report either.

Tried the Ice pac on baby's head last night. Oh it was cold. Not actually sure about it, kept having horrible thoughts about giving miniapple brain freeze.

SOH, have you been to the fair yet? We have the circus in town this weekend, so Nannie and H are off to it this afternoon. Can't decide whether I want to go. M wouldn't sit still and I'm not sure my coccyx will outstand the wooden benches. H has been before with Nannie and had a lovely time so it would be nice to go and spend the time with him if nothing else.

lg&t, enjoy your shopping trip but do take it easy.

OP posts:
Mrsjaffabiffa · 31/03/2007 10:29

Oh I forgot, dh and I have found another girls name we (quite)? like. Your honest like or dislike opinions would be very welcome.

Macie (yes as in Macy Grey)

Would then have a Harrison, Maddie and Macie or it could be Macy, can't decide if I like it with an ie or a y.

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 31/03/2007 12:06

Good morning all.

Glad to hear that the lovely LG&T is firmly established in Plymouth. I really should get some nursing bras too, but cannot decide what size as I'm not sure how ridiculous and cartoonish I'm going to get. I started off at a respectable C cup, just touching down on E atm with no idea of final dimensions. DH stared at them last night for a full five minutes before declaring 'mahoosive' and then wandered off chuckling. He's in such a good mood (he's singing Dolly Parton's Jolene in the shower which is a problem in itself). He's off to work this afternoon so I'm going to buy my secret shower present, wander round the shops a bit, drink lots of milk (I dream of milk) and book a table for a nice meal out tonight to celebrate the fact that DH isn't a pot head. His good mood isn't even dampened by the fact that evil bitch boss woman told him he was a 'lazy good for nothing' last night. She's in a whole new world of trouble atm as the head chef who raised the grievance against her decided to drop her in it yesterday. She doesn't do any daily fire checks and he noticed that two of the fire exits were locked when they should be permanently open. One call to the fire officer and an inspection later and she's in huge trouble. He is not a man to cross. It seems petty but you have not met this woman. Think Cruella de Ville's more evil sister.

Ice pack worked for a friend of mine MrsJB and I like Macie. I prefer the ie spelling (currently saying it in a French accent to check how it sounds). If you were in England I'd say go for Macy instead as people would pronounce it correctly (I think with Macie English people may misread as Mackie). Or they'd mishear it as Maisie I suppose. Still, like it very much. It's French and means 'weapon' apparently. Very pretty. Do you call H by his full name? Fair is next week btw and I am ridiculously excited. I'm only working Mon-Weds next week then I'm off for 11 whole days including trip to London, trip to fair and major celebrations of DH's eventual acceptance into the police force. It has taken two years to get there. And we're having a baby. I am so, so happy. Today the sun is shining and life is good. Only slight grizzle is the fact that my coccyx is incredibly painful so full sympathies. Ouch.

Scoot sounds like dd was very well behaved- your descrption of her made me . Wednesday is best for meeting btw- did I already say that? I really must email you and the errant TYG to sort things out.

Oh I'm in a good mood.

SKYTVADDICT · 31/03/2007 12:47

Afternoon all.

Congrats on the good new SOH, very happy for you and DH.

Well done in getting to Plymouth LG&T.

I like Macie too Mrs JB.

Just been to nearest Mothercare to get nursing bras and nighties. They recommended not getting them until 38 weeks so will need to go back!

SKYTVADDICT · 31/03/2007 12:58

Also, the microwave steriliser JUST fits in the microwave - phew!! Didnt' really want to be buying a new microwave. Had visions of walking round the shops with the steriliser trying it in microwaves to see if it fit!

DDs at their dads this weekend and DP off soon to watch football. Suite still wet from its cleaning yesterday so will be sat in bedroom all afternoon - reading and watching TV. Can't be bad!

Hope you all have a nice weekend

ShowOfHands · 31/03/2007 13:00

Sounds lovely SkyTV. Hope you've got some nice food to go with the watching TV/reading.

I really should not be on here. I'm supposed to be off buying a secret shower present.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 31/03/2007 13:06

Yes we do call Harrison, Harrison. If it is ever shortened it is H. As in steps singer I believe. He is not a Harry, but I don't mind it, nor would I mind him being called it, just doesn't suit him IUKWIM

I'm not sure the meaning of Macie is very nice. 'Weapon' where did you find that SOH.

I have decided to go to the circus. H want's me to and M is ready for bed so wont cause her Nandad and Daddy too much trouble. Plus, I wan't popcorn

OP posts:
SKYTVADDICT · 31/03/2007 13:18

Hope you have a good shop SOH, Lincoln was just getting really busy as we left!

Hope you have a nice time at circus MrsJB and eat lots of popcorn.

I don't really have much to eat this afternoon - might have to raid the kids easter egg pile that I bought for the easter egg hunt - I can replace them in the week.

Just off up now - kinder eggs here I come!

ShowOfHands · 31/03/2007 16:21

Here is where I found that Macy/ie means weapon. Don't worry about the meaning though MrsJB. Mathilda means 'mighty in battle' so similar military connotations but who is ever going to know? My name means something like lazy river or grand depending on who you listen to. I bet you could find plenty of sites that think Macie means carrot or something equally tenuous. Macie in your case will mean beautiful little third born. I asked if you shorten Harrison because it's such a beautiful name on its own, but I've only ever heard people shorten it to Harry and it seems like such a shame iyswim. DH is Joshua and me and the MIL are the only people who use his full name. He's really not a Josh.

Well I survived the trip to the city but goodness know how. It was carnage. The sun's out and so are all of the inhabitants of Norfolk. I was lucky not to lose a limb or at the very least, an ear. Saturday shoppers are evil. I sat down for a knackered pregnant person's rest and watched hoardes of people just wandering in and out of every shop they passed, dragging very bored and tired children behind them and not seeming to have any purpose. Is this normal behaviour? All that pushing and shoving. I made the mistake of going in Mothercare because I was passing and watched a young couple spend over £1000 on stuff. They had all sorts of things- a small selection of bath related stuff: baby bath and stand, baby bath support, top and tail bowl, bath toys, bath toiletries, sponges, flannels, towels, baby dressing gown and on and on and on. I couldn't decide if they were excessive or I was unprepared. There were things they had stacked up that I had no idea what they were for. And a high chair. The baby isn't born yet. They must live in a bloomin' mansion.

Bought my baby shower present though. Will package it up and post on Monday. I just hope it's alright.

Bought some smarties mini-eggs, going to have a cup of tea and eat them.

Enjoy the eggs SkyTV and have a good time at the circus MrsJB.
