Good afternoon all.

First and foremost welcome to cameroonmama- good to have a newbie at this late stage! I must just point out that I have never in my whole life watched porn and you can't listen to a word that LG&T says. She's had 27 children and spouts a load of poppycock with frightening regularity.

Had an absolutely lovely weekend. Went out for a meal last night and then to the cinema to see some absolutely barbaric, violence-filled, blood-ridden epic adventure thing that DH has been angling to see for days. I figured he deserved a celebration though so dutifully took him out and felt very uncomfortable through it. It was so hot and loud. How was I supposed to snooze through it? Don't even ask what the teenage couple in the row behind us were up to because I've never seen or heard behaviour like it. Dirty little sods shouting obscenities at each other over the battle scenes.

Been for a walk by the river today and had lunch in the local pub. Picked up the Sunday papers on the way back and I'm going to sit in the sun, read and try and work out how to use our camcorder- DH's grandma gave it to us when she upgraded (this woman is incredible, she drives a merc and is always jetting off round the world). Wondering whether we might film the birth with it- not money shot type filming, just the odd bit as things progress and Mathilda's first few minutes in the world. What do you reckon? I'll probably drop it in the birthing pool.

Loving the gardening talk. Can't wait to buy a house and have our own veggie patch. And I have a secret love of garden centres. I can waste a whole day in them especially if they have a cafe. Never been a shoe/handbag kinda girl, but I could spend a lot of money in a garden centre if left unattended. My head starts reasoning 'oh but I really need an ergonomically-handled fork and I can't possibly garden anymore until I buy a summerhouse!' Oh and gnomes. DH refuses to let me buy them so a friend bought us two as a wedding present along with an apple tree and DH grimaces every time he walks past them. They're funky gnomes- they have guitars! Steve and Phil the gnomes.

Anyway, I'm rambling and the sun's shining so I'm off to enjoy.

Happy April all!

Hi all,

Just popping in from the due in June thread and noticed something about a secret baby shower. Can anyone explain further how you did it - sounds like a fab idea!

ShowOfHands · 01/04/2007 15:15

The very lovely Mars set it up for us. We emailed her our addresses, what we were having (if known) and likes and dislikes. She matched us all up, we set a £5 budget and Mars emailed us with the person we had to send to. Simple, huh?

I'm sure she'd do the same for you! Congratulations by the way.

ShowOfHands · 01/04/2007 15:17

£10 budget, sorry can't count today!

AbbyLou · 01/04/2007 15:27

Afternoon all. Hope you are all well. I am hoping to be able to keep up with this thread a little better as I have finally finished work. Due to it being the Easter holidays I don't actually officially start my leave until 16th April - there was no way I was going to have my Easter holiday unpaid. I'll wing the system for all it's worth!
Isn't this weather beautiful. I've been out in the garden with ds playing Duplo - I can't beleive you can sit out in warm sunshine in April. He's relaxing watching a Postman Pat dvd at the moment so I'm on here catching up with people.
Beau Alexander is a cool name by the way. We are struggling for boys names - it's so hard when you're a teacher as every name reminds you of a little brat you've taught! At the moment I think it will be either Max William or George William but I can't decide which I like best. We are dead fixed on Ruby Alice for a girl and because I am secretly hoping for a girl I keep pushing the boys name issue to the back of my mind. That sounds terrible doesn't it.
Anyway, I'd better go, ds is screeching as dvd has finished and he can't be bothered to get off his backside and do anything - typical male!

bumperlicious · 01/04/2007 15:34

Thanks SOH, going to sound out my ladies on the idea!

Juicylucytoo · 01/04/2007 17:35

Oh man, I'm sooo tired. It's such a lovely day and all I want to do is lie down! How pants is that.

Picked up our bugaboo on Friday and very happy with it. Got all the goodies to go with it, now we just need a baby to put in it

Did the second NCT class yesterday, so now just got the breast feeding class on Monday and that's us all clued up for the big day
Just have to finish the hypno birthing book now and find my inner peace so I can "enjoy" the birth in a calm and relaxed manner - double

LupinsBigLump · 01/04/2007 17:55

LGT love beau, gorgeous name, used your lemon tray cake recipe last night 10pm decided i needed cake!! anyway it turned into sandwich cake with buttercream in the middle but was delicious - will do choc one later in the week, wont take us long to demolish lemon cake

Enjoy rest of day, will pop back later x

cameroonmama · 01/04/2007 18:24

Thanks for all the welcoming messages, I now know that I am amongst friends and unlike SOH now have no fear in divulging my porn addiction

Naturally I am in awe of domestic goddess lg&t and her baking prowess not to mention being brave enough to have 6 children, I can barely manage 2. Love the name Beau, I pushed for Beau too, but dh rejected it. We have Jude or Joel and Martha and Philippa, dh is really pushing for Jasper, but is possibly a bit too 'west-london' for me, what do you think?

Tyakit · 01/04/2007 18:49

Hi all, wow this thread moves so fast I am having trouble keeping up! I finished my client project last Thurs (hurrah) and am now offically on 'business development'. I have to travel into the office in London tomorrow but am hoping this will be one of the last times.
Dh has spent a large part of the weekend putting up DDs new wardrobes and shelving so hopefully I will be able to get the nursery finished soon.
Hope everyone else is doing well and that all the babies stay cooking for a while longer yet!

aprilmeadow · 01/04/2007 18:56

Happy April all!

Welcome to Cameroonmama

I am now back from cold windy Wales. Had a lovely few days away. Got home yesterday afternoon, had to unpack the car, unpack the holdall and then repack for our night away at Brans Hatch. Got up this morning and headed off to a day of motor racing! Am totally knackered and bump, hips and legs feel sore.

J was fantastic each night that we were away and actually slept as if we were at home rather than a B&B and hotel. We thought we would be in for a tough time.

The alotments and herb gardens all sounds fab. I bought J a sunflower seed set so will try and pot that tomorrow.

Got my bargain ebay purchase when i got home - my nursing pj's. So that completes my hospital bag

MrsJB, I love the name Macie/Macy. J has girlfriend called Macey and she is such a cutie. You still got chocolate left or have you snaffled it all?

LG&T, glad to see that you made it to Plymouth with bubs still on board! Very lovely choice of name, really flows off the tongue.

I know i have missed loads of you off, so apologies. Will have another peek through and try and catch up.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 01/04/2007 19:57

Hey AM, Glad you had a good time and made it back safe and sound.

Still have chocy left, am rationing myself.

OH MY GOD! It's APRIL. That means next month ladies, We have our babies. Maybe even this month for some of the lucky ones.

Haven't posted today as am feeling crap. I keep going dizzy with a hot sweat when I stand up. So have sat and made cards. Going to have an early night and see if I feel better tommorow. I am also feeling full, if you know what I mean, I don't have a huge bump but it is sooo tight and hard, I'm very uncomfortable. I don't know where 6 more weeks of growth is going to go.

Hope you are all well. xxx
