@Flatwhite31 I joined you on the breaded fish and oven chips tonight! It made me feel rough though, so maybe I am getting food symptoms after all.

mamasiz · 28/07/2017 23:20

@Flatwhite31 Ditto with the emotions too - I almost cried in M&S today (trying to find more beige food to eat) thinking about how patient and kind DH has been - he always has been but we're moving house this weekend and as he's having to do pretty much everything for it it just makes me appreciate him more!

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 07:34

Is anyone else waking up early and unable to go back to sleep? I get so tired at night, but lying awake from 5.30am is boring, my partner is the one having the vivid dreams instead of me. Luckily he's a chatty sleeper, so I get some entertainment. I've been accused this morning of weeing on his piss dispenser, hiding all the beer and then I was ordered to cuddle "with the poor sore boobs". (They are very sore this morning, yes.)

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 07:40

I've been very variable with food, some super vegetable days. On specific (different) days I have: only eaten sausage sandwiches; missed lunch and only managed 25% of my meal; felt the need for 2 sandwiches but gagged on the second and stopped; eaten a heap of crisps and been too full for lunch; eaten nothing but vegetables. I'm being very picky, but erratically so. Three times now I've gone off Cheddar biscuits for a day, other days they're my emergency anti-nausea quick snack. I figure I'll just roll with whatever my body wants, it's easier than getting nauseated by trying to do something else.

DancingUnicorn · 29/07/2017 07:42

Excited, yes I was awake early, albeit 6.30 not 5. So annoying!!

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 08:15

Morning to my morning buddy @DancingUnicorn. Are you just staying in bed, or getting up to be productive? I really want to get back to sleep so I won't be knackered later, so I'm staying in, but it's not working yet.

Gallopingfeet · 29/07/2017 08:25

Going for an early scan this morning at 6 weeks because I can't get it out my head something's wrong and it's ectopic or something! Silly but I've booked a private one, I know i won't see much but even if it tells me it's in the right place i would be over the moon so well worth the money! Could everyone keep there fingers crossed please?

FuzzyOwl · 29/07/2017 08:32

I have been awake since 5 as well but it was very much thanks to my toddler, who now has the audacity to go back to sleep, and there being no point trying to do the same as my baby will be awake soon (8am is her usual wake up, so I am already on borrowed time). Thankfully I did go to sleep at 8pm to try to make up for all the insomnia I've suffered recently, so it isn't as bad as it could have been.

I do seem to be covered in spots. I had this with DD1 but avoided it with DD2. I really hope I am not going to end up with such appalling skin again.

FuzzyOwl · 29/07/2017 08:33

Will be thinking of @Gallopingfeet and sending lots of positive vibes.

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 08:47

Good luck @Gallopingfeet. I'm nervous of the early scans because some people have posted that they ended up being told to wait a week if the baby was perhaps too small. I'm hoping to wait until my official scan at 11+4. I'm 7+5 now, so might crack and book one anyway.

That sounds annoying @FuzzyOwl. I don't know what can be done while pregnant for spots. More and more sleep whenever you can I guess, and water.

FuzzyOwl · 29/07/2017 08:50

I certainly had a glow when pregnant with DD1 Excited but a spotty glow was not what I had read about pregnancy! To be honest, I doubt I can do anything about them but they are proper painful and bruised feeling boils. I expect some chocolate or ice cream will help. Grin

Flatwhite31 · 29/07/2017 09:02

Good luck @Gallopingfeet!

I've got oily skin anyway, so used to the odd spot or two. My routine is pretty much the same, but instead of a prescription cream I was using (it isn't suitable in pregnancy unfortunately) I've found a product online called sebopure which seems to be pretty good. I'm still getting some spots, but, touch wood, they don't seem to last too long. Bet I've jinxed myself now saying that!

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 29/07/2017 09:04

Good luck, GallopingFeet! And congratulations to those with wriggling beans on their scans Smile

Re appetite, I'm just constantly hungry, except first thing in the morning when I can't face food at all. I have constant, low-level nausea which is only held at bay by carbs. I will have to start watching what I eat more, otherwise I will balloon! Shock

My skin's rubbish too, and I'm sure it's partly due to my crappy early pregnancy diet.

We're telling DD that she's going to be a big sister this weekend, I'm so excited! It's early, and we were going to wait until the scan, but we think it will be so lovely for her to tell her cousins herself, all of whom she's seeing in the next two weeks while she's off nursery.

SheSaidHeSaid · 29/07/2017 09:13

Good luck today Galloping! Let us know how you get on.

fuzzy, I've been really spotty too. I think it's karma for being happy right at the beginning when my skin actually got better. I'm now a spotty mess.

I had a better night sleep last night, I woke up once at about 1am but quickly went back to sleep. I think I only had a good night sleep because I was exhausted from the night before though when I woke up twice and took hours to get back to sleep both times.

I've got gin tasting tonight... well that'll be fun considering I can't drink and the smell of spirits makes me feel sick. I cant get out of it thkugh as it was a birthday present from the girls I'm going with (even though it took literally over a year to book it). I said to one of the girls to postpone it but she wasn't keen. So will just go and listen to what they say about how you taste gin and the botanicals etc.

hometownunicorn · 29/07/2017 09:14

Good luck @Gallopingfeet. I have the same completely irrational fear that something is wrong so I've been talking to OH about booking a private scan in a week or two (only 5+4 so there's no point this early).

I've had insomnia this week too. And my appetite is fine but I get nausea from about 3pm, which only stops if I eat, so that's not ideal. I'm eating things I wouldn't normally like but fortunately haven't really gone off anything. Yet.

Sympathy for the spots @FuzzyOwl. I have a couple of small ones but no worse than my usual PMT spots at the moment. It is very annoying that they won't go away.

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 09:26

Gin tasting sounds awful @SheSaid, the smell!!! Is there no way you can claim a late tummy bug and send a substitute friend in your place?

MrsW0812 · 29/07/2017 09:30

Haven't fully caught up over the past day or so - but seem to have woken up today in the worst crabbiest mood ever. Even the dog is being snapped at! I can't control myself - anyone else the same?

OnceUponaMama · 29/07/2017 09:47

Best wishes galloping- I was nervous about ectopic too and had a scan at 6 weeks.

Is anyone feeling emotional/not themselves as the weeks go on? I'm finding it really difficult to cope with stress. I keep feeling guilty I'm 'harming' the pregnancy.

(We are in the middle of a fixer upper home and normally I can deal with the hiccups that come with it, but now I'm well a mess really Confused. For instance it's been raining a little more lately and we've noticed water is leaking in from the back door into our kitchen! Shock our builder came yesterday and has ordered a new door and windows for us but it might take weeks to come... plus we currently have no flooring or internal doors downstairs (not here yet). I'm 8 weeks on Wednesday and I'm terrified the booking appointment will be at home and will be judged by the war building zone.)

What would you girls do in this situation.... grin and bear it or push for a booking in app taking place at my gp?

X

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 29/07/2017 09:48

Me too, MrsW! I've had such a short fuse in the last couple of weeks; I seem to go from 'all is well' to 'I will fucking kill you' in about 3 seconds. Confused

FuzzyOwl · 29/07/2017 09:55

Thanks hometownunicorn

I have never had a booking in appointment at home OnceUponaMama. Is it normal where you are?

Excited1203 · 29/07/2017 09:57

I've had some grumpy moments too.

@OnceUponAMama - I also keep freaking out about the painting in the house. We moved towards the end of May and everything is a mess of half-started jobs. It needs sorting, but seems to be taking my partner forever. Every time he paints, I panic about smelling it, but at the same time I'm desperate for him to get it done!

MrsW0812 · 29/07/2017 09:57

@GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt 😂😂 I'm such an evil b**tch this morning its unreal. Can't even look forward to a glass or bottle of wine at anfood and drink fest going to later

Flatwhite31 · 29/07/2017 09:59

I've not been angry or moody, just teary! I cried down the phone to my lovely GP yesterday when she told me my blood tests were fine! Clearly not something to be upset about! I just said to her that I keep crying for no reason, but she said that's a good thing in a way, as you do want to be having pregnancy symptoms at this stage (I'm 8 + 3), however annoying/draining they may be.

@OnceUponaMama oh that sounds like hard work. Nobody will judge you though! I've also never heard of booking appointments being at home, although that could just be because in my area that's not the done thing. Mine will be at my GP surgery. We don't even live in a house (in a 2 bed flat which is thankfully fairly spacious) but I'm sure that unless your home is absolutely vile (absolutely not the case with building work as these things can't be helped!) there will be no concern!

OnceUponaMama · 29/07/2017 10:01

I think so fuzzy owl. Blush The nurse at epu was sure it will be. (I was thinking about calling my gp and enquiring but wondering if I'd be seen as weird asking a question like that. Maybe I could say I'm calling so I could arrange more time off from work. )

Gallopingfeet · 29/07/2017 10:09

It's all okay guys! Most horrendous moment she did an abdominal one and said she could see the sac but nothing in it I was so scared so she has to do an internal one as she said it might just be to small and it was there with a tiny flickering heart! She said it is the right measurement for 6 weeks, tiny little grain of rice! Thanks for all the good wishes xx
