Tentatively sticking nose in the door.

Been a long journey to this point. Summary, DS22months, 3 MC (two over 10 weeks) since, thought i was 3.5 weeks and took a test, was neon positives ( all 5 of them!), went to GPs, bloods done due to thyroid issues, HCG was 24000 so yesterday was told this was a potential molar, then sat in car on nursery run and lost about 1/3 pint of blood, ( sorry car seat does not absorb blood quickly as leather, poor DH cleaned it up. I assumed mc. Went to EPU today to confirm and document for the recurrent mc clinic, probable cause was loss of a twin, and a blood clot, still a massive clot, subchorionic haematoma, BUT found a 7 week heartbeat flickering away. Shocked and overwhelmed but trying to maintain positivity so here i am! GP put me on bed rest with a potter about the house allowed for 2 weeks.

Phew. Now off to read the thread.

Stuckinstressville · 28/07/2017 18:11

flat as i didn't know i was Pg, i have been on a 1200 no carbs diet for the entire 7 weeks... seem ok but def need more! Gimme pesto pasta NOW. Thats all that got me through horrific sickness with my ds.

That and the pulse nausea bands. Godsend.

1000jobstodo · 28/07/2017 18:15

I wasn't the inventor of 'dildo cam'- someone said it on here, so I can't take credit other phrases I have heard and Grin at are

'Knicker peeping' to check for discharge/check on bleeding. I know I peep before properly checking and must look like an idiot

'Lightening bolts up the lady garden' was the description someone gave on a ttc board to describe those random shooting pains you get as a potential preg symptom.

Anyone got any more?
The dildo cam is literally the length of my forearm. Made my eyes water looking at it, but don't worry ladies only a bit is used!

count if having the internal, empty bladder, if stomach, full.
Don't make mistake I did though and empty bladder just before because my hospital then wabted a urine sample so I had to down shots of water for 20 minutes to make that happen. Not quite as fun as real shots.

Stuckinstressville · 28/07/2017 18:24

1000 i have had dildo cam so many times, about 30 ? Multiple MCs, dodgy DS pregnancy. If my younger self would have known quite how easily i drop my knickers for a probing dildo, she would have blushed furiously!

ZylaB · 28/07/2017 18:52

@1000 dildocam I've heard before
The pains in your vulva I've heard called 'fanny daggers' 😂
Excess discharge as 'swamp foof'
And 'knicker watch' for the constant checking.

Hello

Just trying to catch up. Things have been a bit hectic here. Thinking of everyone who's had a loss or is wating to hear.

Had my booking in appointment on Tuesday and an early scan today, measuring 8 weeks and saw a good heart beat.

Fuzzy owl I think I've sent you a pm about joining the fb group.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 28/07/2017 19:07

Dildo cam was my invention haha 😂 it's the inner child in me 🙈

FuzzyOwl · 28/07/2017 19:08

Wow @Stuckinstressville what great news.

Pleased today's scan went well for you Speechie and I have sent you a link.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 28/07/2017 19:22

Great news speechie :)
stuckinstress Aww chick what a tough journey, glad you saw the hb
Welcome Elbi 🤗

xXx

Excited1103 · 28/07/2017 19:34

Welcome @Elbi and @Stressville.
Congrats Speechie.

OnceUponaMama · 28/07/2017 19:43

flatwhite - I've been wanting to eat the same foods as you! Everything that I used to love doesn't appeal to me anymore, chilli, fajitas, curries, stir fries, all bleurgh now! (meats are the worst though by far for me!)

I have even gone off chocolate... has anyone else!? (I feel so abnormal)

Thank goodness for the prenatal vitamins, my diet has been so poor lately with the aversions and nausea!

xxx

whyhastherumgone · 28/07/2017 19:43

@flatwhite i've been on the carbs massively! Normally i have a diet high in healthy fats with lots of protein and good complex carbs but nope salty white carbs all the way although it differs from day to day. I seem to get a sudden desire for something then not want it a feeble minutes later. Either seem to find it really hard to eat or want to eat everything.

TeaAndPjs · 28/07/2017 19:46

Good to hear everyone is doing well and scans have went well! Feel like it just took me a lifetime to catch up since I was last on!

Doublegloucester · 28/07/2017 19:52

I have gone off most drinks. I can just about cope with apple juice but even that's getting a bit yuck!

whyhastherumgone · 28/07/2017 20:29

Water sometimes smells weird to me so i've mainly been drinking squash - not sure if that's great but at least i'm staying hydrated

Elbi · 28/07/2017 20:42

I haven't had any aversions/cravings yet - just a whole bunch of anxiety about eating the wrong thing...

Countdowntofour · 28/07/2017 20:59

I don't like meat or anything with a wet sauce - so no bolognese, curry etc. I'm just eating what I fancy, when I want right now but I need to be careful with the type 2 diabetes.. will do a meal plan over the weekend and try to stick to it but it'll be hard since I'm off meat lol.

Oh and I'm also off chocolate and most sweets - although I like anything sour whereas normally I'd avoid them!

Poochieblue · 28/07/2017 21:07

I've had aversions to nearly everything, absolutely anything sweet is repulsive. I can literally just about handle rich tea biscuits (and anyone in the Fb group will now know that there is an impending murder occurring re these biscuits!) also can not even face the thought of eggs no matter how they're cooked. Dh was frying himself some earlier and I walked into the kitchen and instantly gagged!!
All I want is fatty bad for you food like burgers, but then half way through one I don't want that either!!
Force fed my self a salad at lunch and that was hard work!! Blush

SheSaidHeSaid · 28/07/2017 21:13

I've turned into a carb monster. Really annoying as I was loosely following slimming world before, so loads of lean meat, fruit and veg and now my diet is anything but healthy.

1000jobstodo · 28/07/2017 22:29

Even looking at a pack of raw chicken makes me feel horrendous.. I was the same last time. Just something about chicken I can't deal with.

Ps I learnt today that at early scans they can tell which ovary you ovulated from? Fun fact for the day. Apparently there's a little thing that stays there for a little while that's harmless and signals where the egg came from!

blue it WAS you wasn't it! Grin I remember now.

Grin at fanny daggers HAHA

Flatwhite31 · 28/07/2017 22:41

Having a good laugh at all these pregnancy terms, especially dildo cam! Haha!

All I managed tonight for dinner was half a piece of breaded fish and a few oven chips! Deary me. My GP phoned saying my routine bloods were fine (yay!) so of course I randomly started crying down the phone when she asked me how I was feeling! Bloody hormones! She must think I'm crazy. Is anyone else getting really hormonal emotions?!

Flatwhite31 · 28/07/2017 22:42

Meant to say @1000jobstodo that's so cool about the ovary thing! I love anything medical, so that's really interesting!

Fefifoefum · 28/07/2017 22:48

I'm glad there's others struggling to eat well, feels terrible when you can't get anything decent in doesn't it?

I'm only liking cold dry foods, cereal bars, crisps, sandwiches, basically beige crap. But I thought I'd try and tempt myself into a proper meal with a Chinese tonight. I managed a quarter, then promptly vommed it up. I am getting quite bored of vomming now!

whyhastherumgone · 28/07/2017 23:02

@poochieblue i am exactly the same
with eggs! it's the first thing that made me suspect i was pregnant as i usually have some form of eggs for breakfast every day - haven't had any for weeks

mamasiz · 28/07/2017 23:17

@Flatwhite31 I could have written your post myself! I'm eating exactly the same as you - I can manage veg in a soup but not alone - and I've eaten nothing but pizza, fish fingers etc for the past week. Really struggling to eat fruit, but managing to keep it all down so far. I have read somewhere that it's quite usual in the first trimester to struggle to eat, I guess that's another reason why a pregnancy vitamin should be taken - but they taste and smell disgusting to me now so they're a challenge too!
