I'd drink a couple of pints stumbly and if it ends up needing to be an internal they'll ask you to go an empty your bladder.
I had to have an internal yesterday despite measuring as 6+5 because baby was hiding at the edge of the sac. And also probably because all my weight is around my stomach lol.

I'm struggling so much today, queasy, headache, tired. I know I'm going to be sick in a minute and I couldn't get a gp app on time to today either :(. My poor two year old is just in front of the tv and I feel guilty as we usually go out lots!

stumblymonkeyagain · 27/07/2017 10:28

I really struggle with the whole emptying bladder thing. I think I must have a huge bladder as I only go to the loo twice a day even when pregnant.

There's no way I can empty on demand after one hour Confused

I suspect I'll need a TV as even drinking two pints I reckon my bladder will still be like the desert!

1000jobstodo · 27/07/2017 10:55

I have the opposite Stumbly! My bladder never grew to adult size so I'll ask for tv tomorrow as I can't physically have too much liquid. I practically lived in the toilet at 40 weeks pregnant...
Thinking of you. Really realky hope all is ok

stumblymonkeyagain · 27/07/2017 11:02

Here and have to say they've changed things around for the better. I think there's been a lot of feedback to the NHS about the downsides of having the EPU in the ante-natal area (having to deal with having a mc surrounded by pregnant women).

They've now moved EPU and gynae to the floor above ante-natal here which I think is really good.

Sending you all the positive vibes @stumblymonkeyagain

SheSaidHeSaid · 27/07/2017 11:06

The first scan I had I ended up needing a wee in the waiting room but I then quickly drank more water, 5 mins later I was called in and the scan was clear.

The second scan I had I went for a wee at home, drank a cup of tea and then drove 30 mins to the hospital, waited 5 mins and went in. Bladder was full enough for it to be clear again.

I think everyone is different. I'm sure I have a small bladder as I wee more than most people anyway and just one cup of tea was enough. If I drank 2 pints of water I would 100% wet myself.

I didn't have a full bladder when I had my reassurance scan on Saturday, I didn't realise I was supposed to. I had an abdominal scan and it was really clear, but I also discovered my uterus tilts forward so apparently I should have really clear scan pictures anyway.

Drizz · 27/07/2017 11:26

I haven't completely caught up, as between work, looking after kids and being totally knackered I've had v little time to waste on the internet. I am so sorry about the mcs that have happened. I know how you feel, I approach my latest mc date (7+6) so fingers crossed that passes without any change.

As to full bladders, I always found TV scans really very ok. But then I had fertility treatment so was v used to them. My bladder was appropriately full 30 mins after a pint of water. So full with our first that I squashed him at the 12 week scan and was told I could empty it a little bit. Then he swam up and down on the screen... In awe at two wees a day while pregnant!

Good luck stumblymonkey

BlueeSpottyTiger · 27/07/2017 11:54

My fingers are crossed for you stumbly Goodluck and positive vibes xx

We aren't the newbies any more, there's a due in April thread! Time is passing, slowly but it's passing!

stumblymonkeyagain · 27/07/2017 12:15

Not good news unfortunately, still nothing in there at 7+1.

Waiting for the doctor to come and discuss it with me Sad

SheSaidHeSaid · 27/07/2017 12:18

Oh stumbly Sad I was so hopeful for you.

hometownunicorn · 27/07/2017 12:23

Oh stumbly I'm so sorry. I hope they're nice to you at the epu

Banania · 27/07/2017 12:27

I had my first gp appointment today, thought I was about 7+2 but because of the fact that I never got my period since my mc, dating was a bit tricky. She's put me at about 5 weeks - since conception and based on what I told her. She said we can't really add on the 2 weeks if there was no period Confused and so EDD is now around 6th april?!

I'm confused but she will refer me in for an early scan in EPU when I'm around 8 weeks - which now feels ages away! Great to get an earlier scan but weird to hear that I'm dated much earlier than I thought.

Anybody have any experience of this? I used an online calculator thing with my estimated ov date to work out my EDD date originally.

Doesn't really matter anyway as the scan will reveal all one way or another.

stumblymonkeyagain · 27/07/2017 12:33

They're being very nice. Am taking the drugs late this afternoon once DP is home to take care of me and then taking the rest of the week off.

DancingUnicorn · 27/07/2017 12:35

Stumbly I'm so sorry to hear your news. I told my mum there was a lady on this forum going through this too and we were both rooting for you. If you need a chat all the girls are here for you ok Flowers xxx

stumblymonkeyagain · 27/07/2017 13:20

Thanks all. I had a little cry at the hospital and have no doubt today will be tough going but TBH I was finding the uncertainty so horrible that I'm glad to at least know how things stand.

DP will be home in an hour or so and then the order of the day will he blankets, hot water bottles, a nice movie on the TV and Chinese takeaway while the tablets do their thing.

I'm making a list of all the (very non-baby friendly) things we can do on our awesome honeymoon to keep me sane in the meantime.

Hoping you all have a happy and very boring pregnancy! xxx

Banania · 27/07/2017 13:24

That sounds perfect for the circumstances stumbly. I couldn't believe how exhausted I felt when I had a mc. Lots of hours in bed and cancel the world for a while.
