My booking appointment is at my GP surgery on Friday which is nice because I live 2min walk away and I am off work that day

Today was really hard, I threw up several times yesterday and went to bed feeling really nauseous and stomach hurting. I threw up several times again today, had the lunch leaving do of a colleague which I had to ran out of because of the smell and still feeling really nauseous.

WiIdfire · 26/07/2017 18:50

Had a busy weekend so sorry I havent written anything. For those of you going through worry or receiving bad news, I am reading all your stories, as we all are, and thinking of you. Lots of us here to hand hold, and many of us have been there before. Its lovely to hear some of the good news as well, lots of little heartbeats being heard across the country.

Had my booking in appointment this morning, done by a student with supervision which was lovely, although she was a bit nervous. Seemed a bit of a let down to answer 'no' to all her questions so she had nothing interesting to deal with.

Next step - 12 week scan. Am 9 weeks on Friday, so its coming round quickly!

whyhastherumgone · 26/07/2017 18:57

Everyone talking about symptoms is making me nervous - i still don't have any sickness - think i'm six weeks at the weekend.

excellent news @poochie poor you will the drinking/ bladder pain, holding it can be sooooo uncomfortable. When i had a scan last year with my MMC i had such a full bladder i was worried i was going to wet myself when she pressed down on my stomach. I wonder if anyone has actually done that!

Flatwhite31 · 26/07/2017 19:08

Oh poor you @OrangeCloud18. I've been the same today, except at the other end (TMI, sorry!). It's so draining! Could you ask your GP for anti sickness tablets? My colleague's daughter had terrible sickness in her pregnancy, so the doctor prescribed her some tablets. Understandably she was a bit reticent about taking them, but they made a real difference and she had a perfectly healthy little boy a few weeks ago! Might be worth investigating, especially if you are getting dehydrated.

I'm SO tired this evening! Zzzzz. I also ate a family sized bag of popcorn today. Oops!

Flatwhite31 · 26/07/2017 19:12

@whyhastherumgone I didn't have that many symptoms at 6 weeks. I walked 46,000 steps round Paris in one weekend and went to a Coldplay concert at 6 + 3! The symptoms properly hit me around the late 6 weeks/7 week mark. The thought of going to a gig now makes me exhausted just thinking about it!

OrangeCloud18 · 26/07/2017 19:21

Flat I have already spoken with GP and was given some safe to take tablets... No change at all and they are not nice when they go back up Confused

Flatwhite31 · 26/07/2017 19:29

Oh @OrangeCloud18! I got given anti emetic tablets called cyclizine last year when I had a very violent bout of norovirus which was doing the rounds at school. They worked well. Obviously I wasn't pregnant then though. Which ones have you got?

whereareyousleep · 26/07/2017 19:36

This constant nausea is driving me crazy i haven't eaten a proper meal in days just grazing on rubbish. Anybody read that symptoms are worse with a girl? I didn't feel anywhere as bad as this when I was pregnant with my DS

ZylaB · 26/07/2017 19:41

I thhope no I'm going to go to the gp tomorrow and ask for something for he sickness. I'm not throwing up all the time but I am after meals which I've done my insulin injection for so it's starting to cause issues.
Spoke to my SIL who is an obstetrician and she told me her two favoured drugs so I know what to ask for.

Grew up so hard tonight I think I've pulled some muscles! 😁

ZylaB · 26/07/2017 19:41

Threw up, not grew up lol

FuzzyOwl · 26/07/2017 19:51

Great news poochie.

Hope the doctor gives you something that helps Zyla.

I don't really have any symptoms whyhastherum. For me it is just insomnia at the moment and slightly more tender breasts than normal, but only noticeable when my toddler launches herself against me.

Countdowntofour · 26/07/2017 19:58

@whyhastherumgone With dd2 and dd3 I had very very minimal symptoms, no nausea, just period type pains at the beginning which faded into nothingness so by the time it got to the 12 week scans I was convinced it was my body playing tricks on me!! Both girls are very healthy lol. DD1 I had nausea with, and this one I also have nausea with (but not today - yet)!

Bluebell93 · 26/07/2017 20:05

Great news @blueespotytiger! So relieved for you!

Good luck for tomorrow @stumblymonkeyagain

I've been feeling a little nauseous in last couple of days but not too bad, although I'm only 6 weeks tomorrow. Been having lots of twinges in my groin too but I'm pretty sure they're due to trapped wind (my IBS is not coping well with these hormones and without drugs). At least that's what I keep telling myself to stop freaking out about a potential ectopic...

My main symptom is that my boobs are now massive! I'm so conscious of them I'm sure someone at work will figure it out soon.

I also checked with my doctors when I should hear from the midwife and it's not until 8-10 weeks. But at least the booking appointment is done as a home visit here.

Doublegloucester · 26/07/2017 20:23

Thinking of everyone who is worried about their symptoms and lack of. I don't remember being so worried first tine round but bag of nerves this time!

Someone at work actually guessed I'm preg today - thought I'd hidden it so well! It was my shape that gave it away, which is disturbing as I'm only 7+4!! She has decided it's twins :s
So now a bit annoying as I've got to spend August hoping she doesn't give the game away as didn't want to tell my manager before 12 weeks. Maybe ahe'll guess too!!

FuzzyOwl · 26/07/2017 20:26

I saw my reflection earlier @Doublegloucester and I look as if I am in my second trimester (am just over five weeks) so hoping the bloat will subside soon and clothes will be comfortable to wear for a while longer.

TeaAndPjs · 26/07/2017 20:31

Too many of you to name but glad to hear it was good news with scans and all is going well.

Sorry some of you are suffering bad with sickness/insomnia etc. I don't even feel preg today other than being overly emotional!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 26/07/2017 20:36

orange i had hg last time and was prescribed cyclizine. I didn't take it myself as i don't do tablets but i was on a hg group and i know alot of women who took it and were fine...there is quite a few diff brands safe in pregnancy. I too am very very sick. I'm having to stay off work this week atleast as im exhausted from the insomnia, vomiting and nausea... that on top of a toddler is so draining. I'm having to self certify this week then the doctor is going to give me a backdated sick note on monday and one going forward if im still as bad.
Had to be checked for dehydration yesterday but everything seems to be okay atm.

whyhastherumgone · 26/07/2017 20:48

Thank you to everyone who has reassured me about my lack of symptoms - I think I just have this idea that sickness is the "proper" one which I know is silly, I don't know why I'm wishing it on myself especially when some of you are really suffering Blush.

Bloody love this thread. It's such a comforting, reassuring and supportive group.

SheSaidHeSaid · 26/07/2017 21:09

Aaaand so the belly touching has begun already. MIL and aunt-IL came over for dinner today and wouldn't stop touching my (bloated, nothing more) belly. Can see this will get on my nerves.

Personal space, people! Personal space!!

@whyhastherumgone After many hours of researching during previous, almost symptomless, pregnancies where everything went as it should, the consensus seems to be that symptoms abruptly stopping is a concern but it is fine if you never had them to begin with.

DancingUnicorn · 26/07/2017 21:18

I saw a heartbeat tonight. So relieved. Measuring exactly to my dates too, so I'm 8+5 with just one tiny little thing!

I'm so sorry for people suffering really badly with sickness. It sounds completely grim.

FuzzyOwl · 26/07/2017 21:20

Ah, Dancing that answers my question from the other thread. The odds are hugely in your favour of everything going well for you.

1000jobstodo · 26/07/2017 21:20

whyhastherumgone- please don't feel worried! Had first feelings of nausea today at 6+3 (which I bloody thanked my lucky stars for due to still having brown spotting Confused) but with my last pregnancy I was nauseous from day of conception. Every.single.day. I never threw up even then though, I just felt sick.
So not only are people different, but pregnancies are different also.
I think as long as you feel tired and/or rubbish, that should make you feel encouraged that all is ok.
I have zero boob changes in pregnancy, and didn't make milk with dd. Everyone is different and reacts differently to hormones.

Too many uses of word 'differently'
But you get my drift!
Relax, and enjoy the sick free life (for now) Smile

DancingUnicorn · 26/07/2017 21:22

Yes, my two pregnancies have been completely different so far. (Ok, I know last time didn't exactly end as desired, but at this point would have likely been ok!)

DancingUnicorn · 26/07/2017 21:23

Thanks FuzzyOwl! Yes, stats are indeed in my favour. For the first time I feel I can confidently say 'today I am pregnant'!
