Welcome to a new space!
I felt the baby move last night....had been getting sharp shooting pains just below my ribs on one side - I couldn't stand so laid down for an hour or so, and then I was entertained. V special isn't it to feel it again?!

LOL at stampede of mad pg women storming maternity wards in search of newborn to sniff! (might just head there myself this weekend).
Had really uncomfortable night last night with way too many loo trips and some strong BH. Also been having some stronger BH this evening - please please can this be the real thing and not just teasing me. I'm ready and quite excited.

Honeybunny - you can eliminate telesales by calling BT Telepreference and asked to be taken off all lists (hopefully other tele co have same service if you're not with BT). Also started to get really grumpy with people turning up at door trying to flog stuff - usually in the middle of bedtime Last person didn't even get to start his spiel before I had said no thank you and closed the door!

Ronnie - don't know about the pineapple but DH has been told to bring some home tonight (will have to do as I really don't think I'll be able to persuade to have sex with me). And having curry tomorrow - which I don't really like. This baby is coming out this weekend - PLEASE.

Redshoes - an enema and an epidural thank you. DD being looked after by sister who lives locally. DD bought baby a teddy bear she chose. Baby has bought Baby Annabell for DD. DD is nearly 5 and obviously knows baby didn't buy Annabell but she is desperate - serious roleplay going on here

Good luck to everybody. Perhaps we should start new thread??

Hello to all you December Mums. I'm not pg at the moment but DS was born on 20th December 2 years ago (was due on the 5th though so very late).
All the decs were up at the hospital and there was a nice feel about the place (Taunton, Somerset). It's a nice time of the year to have a baby - good luck and best wishes to you all.

Hi girls.

Well yes, I am still here, despite trying every old wives tale I have heard of. Have had curry the last 3 nights, as well as a whole fresh pineapple each day (it has prostaglandins - sp? apparently that ripens the cervix - lovely!). Have also convinced DH to do the business each night for the last few days. I've been rubbing diluted Clary sage into my bump, hugging 3 newborns from my NCT class (aw, they are so goooorgeous you know) and most of all have been walking EVERYWHERE. I keep getting stared at as I waddle along, but who cares eh?

Honeybunny, sorry about your crap day. The telepreference thing that Nimme mentioned does work, we've got it and it has cut out all those annoying calls.

Am well and truly fed up with the texts and calls ALL day saying - 'have you had the baby yet?' What a stupid question!! My house has turned into a little craft workshop, and my cooking skills are getting better by the day. I have also had my legs waxed, hair cut and highlighted. I also pop to Tesco everyday for one thing (usually a pineapple) and come home with 2 bags of stuff. If this baby doesn't arrive soon, I will be a skint but very glamorous-domestic-goddess-type!

Labour vibes being sent out to you all......

Hmm, I thought pineapple was supposed to get things in moving in the bowel region, which would in turn stimulate things in the baby region. At least, that's according to a friend of mine... Happy to think that she might be wrong about that.

Baby is down engaged to it's nose in my pelvis according to midwife who then got excited and said perhaps it would be early (due 27th) but that's what happened last time and went 2 days overdue.

Any news yet from those with early December due dates? Perhaps they're all too busy giving birth to post!
