Just a thought... when using a sleepyhead type thing do you put that at the bottom of cot so feet still at bottom iyswim? Realised I don't like the thought of baby being literally down by my knees when in cotbed pushed upto our bed. I'd like her to be at my head height sort of so I can comfort her/ bf etc....
I know I should have thought all this through before Confused

lullaby23 · 27/04/2017 13:02

badger as long as their feet are at the bottom of the nest thing I wouldn't worry where they are in the cot as they are contained, especially if you're using a sleeping bag so no worry about blankets going over their face anyhow.

1004Rise · 27/04/2017 13:06

@Badgerbird that hadn't occurred to me where baby would be when I put him/her at the bottom of the cot Blush We haven't bought a sleepyhead (yet) so now I can see me lying halfway down the bed, I don't like the thought of baby being at my knees either Confused I'll be the one getting smothered by bedding!

nursebickypegs · 27/04/2017 13:31

@Barnes79 I'm going to call payroll today and see if I can put it on hold. I usually pay no attention to it (been paying in for 10yrs!) and now I feel like a numpty for not questioning it before. I'm hoping to go back February.

nursebickypegs · 27/04/2017 13:35

@lullaby23 when I found out I was pregnant, my biggest fear was my relationship changing between DH and me. We're a close couple, we do everything together and his recent work trip to Newcastle was the longest we have spent apart in 7 years! I know it will change, but I'm scared how. Does that make sense?

lullaby23 · 27/04/2017 14:24

nurseb it does make sense, also that's so sweet you've hardly been apart! It's good to be prepared that things might change and be open to talking about stuff that might be irritating or worrying you. You might segue seamlessly into being a 3 though you just don't know!

Currently wrapping presents for DS's birthday tomorrow wondering where the last 2 years have gone 😭

nursebickypegs · 27/04/2017 15:24

@lullaby23 I tell DH I worry, it's not like we ever fight or moan. I just roll my eyes and he knows "happy wife happy life" is his mantra Grin he has 4 weeks off for paternity and he said to me that we will do everything together for the first 3 weeks, so if one of us screws up it will be the both of us that are wrong! Then for the final week I'll start doing things alone ready for him to go back to work.

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 27/04/2017 15:55

Hi everyone. Lost you all again for a bit.

Exciting times, loads of babies will soon be filling up this thread :) xx

vanilla8 · 27/04/2017 16:01

@Barnes79 I have pain which consulatant says is baby's bum pushing up, right under right boob.

Had written a long reply but ended up getting lost on the app when I was underground on the tube . Must add I was having a li

Pleased to hear from you again @nursebickypegs

36 week check yesterday and baby not engaged yet but loads more pelvic pain now developing.

vanilla8 · 27/04/2017 16:03

I must get on the fb group and will log online tonight to PM one of you to add me

teainbed · 27/04/2017 16:38

Minor triumph today was x2 walks, one to the doctors to register BabyTea and then went to school for afternoon pickup. I am so slow! Did better with sling but can't believe I was walking miles a few weeks ago. Clearly some way to go in terms of stamina an LE building up some fitness again.

Badgerbird · 27/04/2017 17:11

How lovely to do school pick up tea Smile

jennymac31 · 27/04/2017 17:33

Hiya ladies. Hope you are all well.

Just received ikea delivery all ready for them to come back tomorrow to build all the furniture. I then get a call from dh saying that we can get our windows replaced tomorrow (they had already been ordered but had envisaged them being fitted next week). Well at least we'll hopefully get everything done this week.

Can't remember if I had already posted an update following my appointment yesterday but consultant agreed to water birth but in delivery suite not MLU. She also wants to see me at 39 weeks to do one final growth scan and other checks. I've got my appointment with the midwife a couple of days before that and my consultant said I could get a stretch and sweep done then if I'm fed up with the pregnancy by then! I think I'll only get it done if we've managed to get the house as up-straight as we can manage (or be arsed to do) as we've still got tons of stuff to actually get from the loft and sort through.

EsmesBees · 27/04/2017 17:34

I know that feeling Lullaby. The time really does fly, they seem to go from helpless newborn to little people in the blink of an eye. Apparently it goes even quicker when you have more than one Shock

That's a great achievement to do the school run tea. I had forgotten that you need to register newborns at the GP.

7 more working days to go for me. My cover started today and he seems great. Although I did feel weirdly possessive of 'my turf'. But I know that after the 12th I won't give two figs about the place.

newbieho · 27/04/2017 18:24

Sounds like all is going well @jennymac31

Well done @teainbed I am so slow at the moment I have been taken over by pensioners while waking on pavements Shock

SouthPole · 27/04/2017 18:46

@RasperryInAMelon yes we would and a ton of our friends including those who are the real parents of this baby.

I wouldn't start for a while (12 weeks we started with our first and the other two a little earlier) but I can honestly say it changed my life - sorry to be so dramatic and if you knew me you'd know that is quite a large statement from me!

We didn't follow it to the letter as I ebf to demand all three but I could tell you the time within 2 mins just by noting an eye rub or yawn from them.

Read it, take what you need and roll with it.

And remember, always start the day at 7.😜

SouthPole · 27/04/2017 18:50

Very busy day for me and I am now in bed! I don't work Thursdays.

Went with the 4 yo and our manny to collect a new barbecue (he provided the muscle!) and then out to get new tyres on car, lunch out for us and then back for school run to collect the two bigs. Then hair cuts for all of them.

Standing around and driving has done me in.

I feel so nauseous and sore.

Baby coming a week tomorrow and Wednesday will be my last day in work.

I'm looking forward to the rest in hospital afterward!!

beanturnipandspud · 27/04/2017 20:29

@newbieho, @yellowismyfavourite thank you 💖

@Tickyboovicki the littlest things bugged me and caused tiffs. Like on Christmas Day we always had to eat breakfast before present opening. We also had to wait for the whole family to be awake before peeping in the living room. DH family were allowed to go whenever and weren't made to eat a healthy breakfast. Our compromise is presents then breakfast, but we all wait for everyone to be awake 😊

With regards to house move, if tenants move a week Saturday when do you think you will get keys? We are still waiting now for a date, the first link in the chain have exchanged today. So now we are waiting on ours. So stressful.

Vitamins - bean & Turnip have never had supplements or extra vitamins. They seem ok. They get a rounded diet and plenty of outside play.

Hope all you lovely ladies finishing for Mat leave have a lovely day tomorrow, @1004Rise ,

@nursebickypegs I bought now that's what I call Disney yesterday. And have decided that this is my birth track. I also bought moana last weekend and have watched it about a million times. Turnip loves it 😍 however, whenever I do or sing or see anything Disney I now think of you 🙈😂

DH has decided to take tomorrow off work, my dad is coming over in the morning so going to drop bean & Turnip off at school then dad and DH are going to do some tip runs before back to hospital at 2pm to visit grandad whilst DH does school runs. It's all so much for Turnip she has cried lots, we've discussed before about my little brother dying before Turnip was born and how she never knew him and how she has started to get upset about this recently. Well seeing my grandad so poorly is making her emotional too. Put that with leaving her Childminder's and school nursery and moving house I feel as though she is going to break. So we are trying to give her as much time and cuddles as needed.

nursebickypegs · 27/04/2017 21:16

@beanturnipandspud 😂😂😂 I've listened to Moana soundtrack so much that Bub moves to You're Welcome!!!! I take the Disney as a compliment, everyone in real life says it!! Bubs "coming home outfit" is a Mickey Mouse baby grow!

Tickyboovicki · 27/04/2017 21:24

@beanturnipandspud if they leave on the Saturday I'd imagine we'll exchange on the Monday (8th) and then just need to complete! So annoying knowing we could have been in by end of next weekend if tenants had gone this weekend like they were meant to!

Sorry to hear that your daughters struggling as well 🙁 it's always hard to process things at that age, cuddles & love is the best thing you can do!

Tickyboovicki · 27/04/2017 21:26

Also the bad pains I had the other week, well now they seem to have become a nightly event 🙄 Most evenings I get the same pain. Not quite fanny daggers/lightening crotch but a little higher (between there and the bottom of my bump) definitely not enjoyable! Midwife appointment next week at 40+1 so will ask then if it's still happening

Rustler74 · 27/04/2017 22:17

@Badgerbird you could have the cotbed foot end by your head end?
That's what I'm planning to do anyway.
@SouthPole Thanks for your honest rendition of your first time! That was really helpful!

I can't be doing with reading certain methods so I'm just going to follow my intuition and if that makes a rod for my own back so be it (although I doubt it). OH is keen to cuddle too so there'll be loads of those ! We will see where that takes us.
Wow to @jennymac31 for all the work waiting for you this weekend!
@1004Rise you too a very good last day! I'm also finishing tomorrow yay!
@Tickyboovicki what a pain about the move!
Gosh I think I'm all caught up! Maybe I'll have some ice cream then shower perhaps and bed very very soon!

Badgerbird · 27/04/2017 22:37

rustler I think my brain would boggle if she was upside down in the cot next to me. Especially with sleep deprivation Confused

Thanks lullaby I'll bare that in mind. Exactly rise!!

Sorry to hear you're little girl is so upset as well bean. Sounds like she is surrounded by love and support though.

How'd your appointment go raspberry?

Nurse15 · 27/04/2017 23:00

Hi all

Baby was born at 3.29 today by elective section. All well after some initial issues with breathing but settled after a bit of intervention from neonatal and a good cry! Feeling pretty good myself - however that's probs due to the effects of the spinal still!! She was 6lb on the dot.

Hope everyone is keeping well!! X
