Placemarking, thanks for the new thread! I hope mine appears in this thread. I'm a bit fed up of being pregnant now. I really want some pate and to sleep on my front! Grin

coxsorangepippin · 16/04/2017 19:16

fox, mrscroco, sipper the mw who ran our hypnobirthing course said 'light touch massage is lovely but women in labour can find it massively annoying so try something else too'!

ShiniBerry · 16/04/2017 19:26

We sure are getting through these threads in record quick time!

Good news about the contractions settling Nurse hope you are getting lots of rest!

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Raspberry

MrsPage I've been doing the Maggie Howell CDs, they are pretty good at getting you to relax. DH promptly falls asleep as soon as the music starts-probably why it's recommended not to do at bedtime as we have been!

SipperSkipper hope all your tests come back normal. I completely understand how you feel about now being high risk, i feel the same after my GD diagnosis and being told i wont be able to labour the way i planned. But yes as long as the baby is safe that's all that matters!

Wow Northern didn't realise your cs was happening so soon! Good luck!

Envious of all the Easter chocolate being consumed! DILs are visiting and brought over a massive egg for us knowing I cant eat any Sad. It's nice to have them around but they too are the type who expect to be waited on hand and foot so poor DH has been running around having to figure out snacks and meals (didn't let us know they were arriving so early!), and provide copious cups of tea.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter! xxx

Does anyone elses bump skin burn? Mine has started feeling super sensitive, can barely stand it when DH touches it.

ShiniBerry · 16/04/2017 19:29

TickyBooVicky that cot mobile is gorgeous!

Northernexile · 16/04/2017 19:56

Glad to hear things have settled a bit nurse, hopefully you will get a peaceful night. Good news on the monitoring too raspberry- hope all goes well with the scan. tea it's great that feeding is going well so far, I think that's most of the battle at the start- long may it continue!
I'm very in awe of all the crafty things you have all been doing, I don't seem to have a creative bone in my body unfortunately.
My SIL offered to take the girls for a sleepover tonight and although it should be lovely and a great chance to relax I actually felt a bit teary waving them off and I don't know what to do with myself now. Must be hormones! Keep thinking we'll only have four more days together as a family of 4 now. Going to watch Line of Duty later as that should take my mind off things.

mrscrocopop · 16/04/2017 19:59

Cox yes I can imagine it might get annoying when you've got a lot going on.
They taught some really firm massage (for the fleshy parts) during our hospital birthing session and I can imagine that might be more welcome!

mrscrocopop · 16/04/2017 20:00

Shini - I think I am generally just more super sensitive than usual. Bump skin feels tight and even DP resting his hand on bump hurts, like skin is tearing.
Having said that I can't stand being touched anywhere at the moment, makes me feel irritable!

peasandquiet · 16/04/2017 20:17

We are home and I'm exhausted and broken from the wedding, the PGP today is unbearable, what I wouldn't give for an ibruprofen and a gin and tonic!! Missed the toddler lots and he's been punishing me for leaving by ignoring me in favour of daddy Hmm
Hopefully a restful day tomorrow, lots of jobs I'd like us to get done but might focus on prepping them for next weekend rather than doing it all tomorrow.
I'm not feeling any BH this time, sometimes I notice my tummy is tighter but that last about it!
Feels like lots of you are getting very close to meeting babies, I'm still feeling like it's a way off for me, mum and MIL are convinced of an early arrival tho.

Badgerbird · 16/04/2017 20:55

Found you! Thanks Barnes :)

Copying and pasting last comment and it's gone all weird Confused

The light touch tickly massage sounds like it might do my head in! Will see what they say at next class on Thurs....

Glad all ok raspberry :) do you feel braxton hicks strongly? I only thought of it last week as my stomach was doing weird sensations that it had been doing on and off for a few weeks and realised they might be BH but due to anterior placenta I may not feel them as others do?

mrsjw and rustler the changes are bonkers aren't they! I've been thinking I don't seem much bigger recently then all of a sudden today my bump seems to have popped again! I reckon she thought she should look lively as got mw and measuring tomoz!

teainbed · 16/04/2017 21:08

Anyone seen @nursebickypegs ? Just realised she's not been on here for a few days, is she on FB?

MrsJW15 · 16/04/2017 21:14

I'm loving these - we put animal drawer handles on the drawers in the baby's room this weekend.

coxsorangepippin · 16/04/2017 21:29

peasandquiet I'm finding craniosacral therapy best for the pgp / spd. The physio is great for strengthening but not for pain relief I find - for that the craniosacral therapy is working better than physio / massage / paracetamol. It is not v scientific but is helping somehow!

RasperryInAMelon · 16/04/2017 21:56

@teainbed I sent her an invite for the FB group but haven't heard from her in a while.

@Tickyboovicki I love the cot mobile! Super cute ☺️

@yellowismyfavourite scan is at 10am tomorrow - hopefully all will be ok as I'd really like to keep my chances of the waterbirth I want 🤞🏻

Dreading giving a sample tomorrow - I bet my sugars will be up with the amount of easter chocolate I've eaten today 🙈

@jennymac31 I know OBEM doesn't always show the best births, but I love seeing the parents reactions being introduced to their babies 😍

@Teaspoon74 the bath was needed! Think I spent best part of 3 hours in there in the end!

I really must get the Moses basket bedding in the wash tomorrow!

Tickyboovicki · 16/04/2017 21:58

@MrsJW15 I love the handles! What a cute little touch!

mrspage1985 · 16/04/2017 22:11

@mrscrocopop where is the online hypnobirthing course found?!

We're off to get nursery chair tomorrow and final bits for nursery, can't wait to have it all ticked off my list!

Adventuregame · 16/04/2017 22:21

Hi all on new thread.
I've been so uncomfortable today - can literally see baby feet sticking out my side !
Still having the new bathroom put in so no chance of a bath yet - 2 bank holidays have really delayed us !
36 weeks today so hoping we've got at least another 2 weeks to finish everything and have a deep clean then I'll be bouncing on my ball, drinking raspberry leaf tea and , here's a new one, eating dates apparently !!

Rockyroad17 · 16/04/2017 22:27

@adventure 6 a day apparently...! The study that found they made a difference was carried out in Jordan though so there might have been a vested interest.Grin

@raspberry thanks for the reminder!

mrscrocopop · 16/04/2017 22:43

Mrspage - it's the calm birth school. www.thecalmbirthschool.com/

It's £150 which is quite steep for an online course but it's pretty step by step and you get plenty of resources (booklets, mp3's, videos etc). We went with this as the local hypnobirthing class couldn't seem to get their act together and put on a course.

I have so far struggled to fit in practices as was doing them at night and just falling asleep. Now I am on mat leave I'm finding it much more helpful as can practice in the mornings when sleep is less likely to happen!

user1484986087 · 16/04/2017 22:46

Placemarking! Due on 1 June but have a feeling baby will come early (family birth history) so hope you don't mind me joining...

Rustler74 · 16/04/2017 22:58

@user1484986087 welcome! Don't leave it too long between catch-up because some of us are already on mat leave and we can go through 90 messages a day at times!

Loving the animal handles Smile

Hoping tomorrow will be back to normal as in more comfortable again.
Goodnight all x

Teainbed - I was thinking the same thing about NurseBP yesterday but couldn't remember if she said she had MIL over this weekend? Rustler has just tagged her on the old thread - and as Raspberry said she requested Facebook but don't think she joined yet. Hope everything's ok. I thought it was just me over thinking that I hadn't seen her! Hopefully she'll poke a head through the door and check in with us soon!

So many late stage 'queries' with babies and mw's and consultants and early CS's and inductions and steroids - I can't keep up! I hope everyone is ok and (although tired and grouchy and fed up of being pregnant) happy. Cake Easter cake and Brew tea all around. xxx
Seaworld in brum for us tomorrow Must be frigging mental and then a 2.5 day and 3.3/4 day week before my mat leave starts.. bring it on!! Grin

user1484986087 · 16/04/2017 23:14

Thanks rustler! I wish I was on mat leave - don't start until mid may! Though I'm feeling so exhausted that I'm wondering if I can last that long!

On a separate point, have had way too much chocolate over the last few days!

1004Rise · 16/04/2017 23:37

Hope everyone is well (or as well as can be expected) and hasn't eaten too much chocolate Hmm

We went out for Easter lunch/anniversary meal that both of us forgot I definitely have more space for food. Think I have more space for breathing too... although still need a seat after stairs. BUT my walking oh my god I am so slow!! I swear my 92 year old Gran is quicker on her Zimmer frame. It's a good thing I don't need to walk anywhere when anyone else is trying to go anywhere I feel like killing me I'm so slow!

Welcome user Smile

Wish enjoy sea world don't think you're mad just insane Wink

Still no plans to eat dates Envy and haven't bought any raspberry leaf tea either. This baby needs to stay put until at least the 7th May so I have half a chance to see new midwives once we've moved Confused

1004Rise · 16/04/2017 23:39

I was wondering about @nursebickypegs too but I think she was at her DPs while her DH was away so maybe just different connectivity.

lullaby23 · 17/04/2017 01:51

Thanks for the new thread rustler. At this rate I will be sharing my baby news on thread 17 I reckon Shock

adventure I posted the link to the dates study a few hundred threads back, I tried it last pregnancy, it didn't work but I like dates so no harm done!

Jealous of those whose bumps have dropped, I have baby's head in my ribs so quite breathless still.

Nice lunch with inlaws yesterday, they and DH are taking DS for a day out to the bird park but I'm going to stay home as I can't face another day wandering around in 30deg heat Sad
