I have been eating 4 dates all through pregnancy to avoid constipation which has worked well, I thought there was no harm upping that to six due the last few weeks.

37 weeks today and ready for this pregnancy to be over now, well after today when it's dd2s 3rd birthday.

RasperryInAMelon · 17/04/2017 07:07

Morning ladies... quick question - does anyone use a Fitbit and the sleep tracking element? How much sleep are you getting these days?

I've had 2-3 hours of 'sleep' on average the last few days 😩😴

lullaby23 · 17/04/2017 07:22

mcbaby happy birthday to your DD! DS birthday next week, don't want to clash either!

raspberry I stopped using my Fitbit when I got pregnant haha but did use it when getting up with DS when he woke frequently. I found the sensitive sleep setting was just too OTT and I knew I was getting more sleep than it said, but the normal setting was pretty accurate. 2-3 hours is rotten, hope you can nap at least to catch up.

EsmesBees · 17/04/2017 08:37

My parenting tip of the day is not to introduce your toddler to chocolate on Easter Sunday afternoon and expect her to sleep. Up three times last night. Can only think it was the caffeine.

Raspberry not got a fit bit, but you are in new born territory there with only 2-3 hours. What is keeping you awake? I've had bouts of insomnia throughout this pregnancy, and find its better if I sleep in the spare room away from any noise.

I'm so not ready for this pregnancy to be over. Could do with her staying put til the end of May. DH is actually making a start on getting the new furniture together today though.

FoxMulder · 17/04/2017 09:05

We need to go to Ikea. Wondering if we would be mad to do it today. Looks like the nicest day of the week too!

Rubbish night's sleep. Hips were killing.

FoxMulder · 17/04/2017 09:07

I didn't get any chocolate yesterday Sad. No one gives you easter eggs when there's kids on the scene.

RasperryInAMelon · 17/04/2017 09:15

@EsmesBees we don't have a spare room anymore, just a nursery... I just can't seem to get comfy.

Also, here's another question that got me thinking this morning and apologies if it's already been discussed.

Dressing a baby - during the day and at night, should they be wearing at least a short sleeved / no legs vest under everything?

Ie. Day short sleeved vest, leggings and top and night short sleeved vest and long sleeved / long leg sleep suit

teainbed · 17/04/2017 09:17

@RasperryInAMelon wow I've probably had more sleep than that and I'm up feeding DS all night!

How things change though, he slept from 5.30am to 7.45 and that felt like a 'big sleep'. Grin

ClaireSunflower · 17/04/2017 09:24

@RasperryInAMelon I was wondering that too. We've bought loads of short sleeve and sleeveless vests but wasn't sure if they always wear one underneath everything or not!

mightymouse76 · 17/04/2017 09:29

Hmm... my plan was to come back on here this morning full of wise cracks about my vat return's due date and catch up with all your news...
but I woke with a bleed and am in the local hospital being monitored/waiting for doctor.
Have low back ache and some low down pain. 34+5 today and first bleed during pregnancy so I guess I've been lucky so far what with low placenta. Baby moving ok.

I'm staying with family outside of london as my house is being worked on. Thankfully my dad and sister are with me- DP about an hour away by car- he's waiting for news as to whether I have to be kept in/deliver here or whether I can go back to london to be in or near my designated hospital. LO's not supposed to be an Easter bunny but whatever ... I just want him to be ok

Hope everyone else is doing fine x

FoxMulder · 17/04/2017 09:30

I dressed DS in a bodysuit/vest plus babygro/sleepsuit in the day and a vest plus bundler at night IIRC. If it's really hot though they could be in just a vest through the day.

FoxMulder · 17/04/2017 09:31

Oh jeez mighty hope you're OK. Let us know what they say

teainbed · 17/04/2017 09:32

All the best @mightymouse76 fingers crossed for you. Flowers

FoxMulder · 17/04/2017 09:32

Is your placenta still low then?

Adventuregame · 17/04/2017 09:35

*mighty hope you're ok

lullaby23 · 17/04/2017 09:36

Yikes mighty hope it's not time for little one just yet & you're being well looked after.

Sipperskipper · 17/04/2017 09:41

mighty hope you are ok - keep us posted xx

BouncingBlueberry · 17/04/2017 09:43

Take care @mightymouse76 xxx

mrscrocopop · 17/04/2017 10:06

Might
Hope that you are ok and that whatever happens it goes smoothly and that LO is ok. Xxx

EsmesBees · 17/04/2017 10:11

raspberry oh I see. We kept a single bed in dd's room when she was still in with us so one of us could escape if needed. Will be doing the same this time.

It depends on the weather and how warm your house is. It's a lot more intuitive when the baby is here. But I remember dressing my March baby in a sleepsuit and short sleeve vest, with a cardie for the sling or pramsuit for the pram.

MissMooMoo · 17/04/2017 10:15

@mightymouse76 thinking of you!!

Morning all! DH and I had a lie in this morning until 9, was lovely and unexpeccted as I am usually awake at 6am! Had a lovely Easter lunch with the family yesterday and lots of newborn/baby talk and predictions from them.
Tomorrow our pram arrives and carseat base,we don't even have a car yet Blush i don't drive and DH has torn something in his leg playing football so can't drive atm,we have been putting it off.
Tomorrow is my first day of not going to work! Have turned all my alarms off,it is a very strange feeling.

newbieho · 17/04/2017 10:25

@mightymouse76 hope all goes well, good that you are being monitored Star

@MissMooMoo Enjoy your time off from tomorrow, it's a lovely feeling to allow yourself for a bit of a lie in and a nap during the day 😉

@RasperryInAMelon I am going to play baby's wardrobe by ear. I am usually quite warm and DH is always cold so the baby will be either freezing (if I am going to dress him up) or boiling hot (in case DH is going to dress him). We will see 😀

EsmesBees · 17/04/2017 10:26

Oh mighty thinking of you. Hope you are both ok

Rustler74 · 17/04/2017 10:31

@mightymouse76 I'm thinking of you x
@MissMooMoo really jealous and counting down to mat leave! Particularly after my day yesterday feeling so heavy, hungry and inactive!

@EsmesBees we also have a spare bedroom still as we will keep baby in our room anyway.

We will do the mad thing and arrange ourselves for a trip to IKEA in Wembley. With a little bit of luck we could reward ourselves with Swedish meatballs (maybe that is why we are going ?)

1004Rise · 17/04/2017 10:35

@mightymouse76 hope you're both ok. You're in the best place and if you have an early Easter bunny it means you get more cuddles

@RasperryInAMelon I stopped my sleep monitoring because it was worrying me more how little I'd had, so even if I felt good in the morning if the sleep recorder said it was rubbish I then felt worse

I too have a whole load of vests, and not entirely sure what to do with them. We bought a gro snug for baby to sleep in til s/he is big enough for a bag and it surprised me how little they need on while they're wrapped up. I think (hope) it might be more obvious when baby is here. There's some simple advice on the lullaby trust website on how to tell if baby is warm enough or too hot. I almost feel I need dressing baby for dummies book!
