I've never heard of anyone been given Fragmin post birth tea. Thanks for raising it. Do you have to administer the injections yourself?

Your ankle.looks really sorry raspberry. You poor thing. Doesn't sound like you are getting a very relaxing mat leave what with that and all the hospital visits.

I've also just had a bath to psyche myself up for the working week mrspage. Only working three days this week! Have loved having four days off and having DH around to help with DD.

mrspage1985 · 17/04/2017 21:00

Only 9 days to go Esme that's my consolation!!
IKEA was busy - we actually got there and turned around as the que was out the car park and round the roads, then changed mind once we had turned around and went back to que to get in!! It wasn't too bad to be honest but we did skip a few parts and cut through!
And the meatballs made up for it!!! Hubby wasn't so impressed with my changing my mind though of weather to que or not!!

Raspberry* that ankle looks painful - hope it feels better in the morning though in experience it often gets worse before better Sadxx

PeachIcedT · 17/04/2017 21:26

Ouch that does look painful @RasperryInAMelon I hope you can give it some good rest.

@teainbed anticoagulant injections are very commonly given out in my hospital, trying to remember the criteria but I think here it's factors such as age, weight and interventions for 10 days of (clexane) injections, occasionally for high risk patients we give out 6 weeks worth. Are you getting on with them ok? I inject DH 3x weekly (not a prefilled syringe either so some complex home manipulation!) but am not sure I am ready to jab myself at this stage.

I'm in a LOT of discomfort this evening. Stupidly decided I'd make a house jobs list for us to both complete this weekend - mistake being I assigned DH the job of pressure washing (because I can't imagine when it'll ever get done otherwise) but it took him ages and as the door had to be open for the cable to be plugged inside, loads of muddy water splashed inside - arghh so I spent far too long crouched down cleaning that, and then the muddy windows - pelvic bone feeling it so bad that I'm considering getting out the TENS machine for a go :(

Northernexile · 17/04/2017 21:32

tea I had to self-inject Clexane myself after previous 2 sections, that was to do with clotting and I expect I'll have to do it again. Think it's standard after a cs. Didn't particularly like having to do it, but it wasn't painful.
Bravo to everyone who braved ikea today- that was very brave! In NI a lot of people take Tuesday rather than Good Friday, so DH is off tomorrow so it's like a bonus bank holiday.
raspberry that looks very sore- hope it's a bit better tomorrow!
I have wondered about my stomach muscles too, but I'm not sure how to tell if they've separated! I did the 30 Day Shred last time along with a few others in the Nov 14 thread (after about 12 weeks) and it definitely helped me lose some of the chub.

mightymouse76 · 17/04/2017 22:35

Hi all, thanks again for all the kind words. Visiting hours over so I'm in for the long sleepless shift now. See you insomniacs later maybe? Wink

Plan for now is that I will get another steroid injection at 11am, then same system of two hour testing for another 12-24 hours so I'm likely in until Wednesday unless I have another bleed (in which case I won't be going anywhere).
Lord knows what my mental state will be by then..Proper training for feeding all hours I'm guessing?...Midwifes so lovely though, and on a ward with only one other lady tonight. Just wish I didn't have this bloody cannula in-hate them!

Still haunted by the thought of something bad happening to him although I know at 35 weeks he has ever increasing odds every day I can keep him in...come on body...

I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to chat about all your news- so much going on. I'll try for a few posts during the night.
Hope you all get as much rest as you can.

WishIWasSleeping · 17/04/2017 22:58

You sound like you have a quiet bay Mighty, hope you can get some rest. I'm sure little one will be fine and you'll be home before you know it. xx

1004Rise · 17/04/2017 23:01

@Northernexile if your stomach looks egg/dome shaped when you tense your stomach muscles then they've split.... my midwife was able to tell just by looking at me lying on the bed so if she hasn't said anything you might be lucky

Thanks @Badgerbird and @uptown8617 I'll give happy baby a go tomorrow, puppy is a good shout too Grin

@teainbed still find it odd that you have a baby and we all still (for a wee while at least) have bumps! Glad you're both well!

@mightymouse76 Hope everything is still calm with you and you get a decent rest tonight

@RasperryInAMelon Glad DH can go with you, it's a big mindset shift to think that you may have baby earlier but at least you'll have all the information then. That ankle looks really sore Cake

Working tomorrow, then off the rest of the week for a family wedding. Trying to stop ourselves overthinking what we need to take "just in case" we have hospital bags and car seat (with the mindset of if we take them we won't need them) but then tied ourselves in knots over how we'd get baby home ...Confused 260 odd miles in half hour stints didn't sound like fun so we stopped thinking about it. If it happens we'll worry about it then!Grin

After tomorrow I'll only have a week left at work... now it's getting real! Shock

Teaspoon74 · 17/04/2017 23:11

Esmes I've been on Fragmin since wk28 and have to continue until 6wks post due to age & BMI. Not fun and getting a little bruised, but needs must etc etc.

Rasperry ouch! Take it easy!! If you haven't any peas maybe you could make do with one of the frozen items discussed on the last thread?!? Grin

Was hoping to have a bath this eve but after a visit to a local landmark, diy, mammoth shopping trip (hospital bag nearly sorted now), a trip to pick up some baby clothes and now waiting to bake the worlds biggest batch of shortbread biscuits for tomorrow's WI Cttee mtg I am just too knackered!!!!

Congrats to all who survived ikea today. Still think you're nuts! 😀

Teaspoon74 · 17/04/2017 23:13

Sorry Mighty - meant to also wish you well this eve and for the rest of your time in. We're all rooting for you!!! Xx

Sipperskipper · 18/04/2017 06:04

Hope you had a half decent night's sleep mighty, and that things remain stable.

Glad the scan went ok raspberry, keep us posted about induction. I may also be induced (still none the wiser!), and it is unsettling when you've had your heart set on something else. When I was saying I felt a bit deflated, my hypnobirthing teacher said 'you're having a baby, not a birth', which I thought was a good way of looking at it!

Well done to those of you who survived ikea! Hope everybody had a great Easter.

Rustler74 · 18/04/2017 07:02

Oh not too much insomnia then? Or did you all desist from picking up your MN app? It seems tiredness has taken over and keeps me fast asleep for 5-6 hours at a time easily, these days. When I have an afternoon nap, I feel broken afterwards. Never been good at them really.
Weekend finished and OH back to work today, I'll be tomorrow after aqua antenatal class. I'm so counting down until next Friday, as for some reason these last 2 weeks have become the busiest of my job, and my belly has grown considerably according to my OH! I'd best take another picture to let you ladies judge!
@RasperryInAMelon how is your ankle feeling this morning? I seem to have missed your story re induction but I was equally disappointed to learn I'd be inducted. What is your reason then?
@mightymouse76 how was your night ?

CinnamonTwist · 18/04/2017 07:39

Thanks for the new thread, just place marking, hoping my baby comes on this thread - so ready to no longer be pregnant now... and get some newborn cuddles!

Autumnsweater · 18/04/2017 07:45

I've had PGP since week 24 (mainly sacroiliac but some hip pain and sciatica) but this morning have woken up with horrible pain over both of my hip joints (so not just the side I was lying on). I feel like crying it's awful.

peasandquiet · 18/04/2017 07:46

Morning all! First day of mat leave and toddler is over sleeping for nursery 😂 It's like he knows that staying home with mummy is an option! Glad to see some of you must have slept better last night, I'm at the too exhausted to stay awake stage the last two night I have slept through thankfully! Still exhausted by 3pm tho.
Good luck to all with tests/scans/appts today Smile

yellowismyfavourite · 18/04/2017 08:18

Morning all! @RaspberryInAMelon hope you are resting that ankle... It looks so painful! @mightymouse76 hope your night was ok and things continue to go well today. @teainbed glad things are going well still... will be asking you for advice in a week or so!!!
@1004Rise I asked HV about car travelling and she said an hour in a car seat is fine so long as someone sits in the back to keep an eye on them, and they have a good break from it each hour. Hopefully you won't need it though

Hopefully going to get a mw appointment today for a second attempt at a sweep. Feels strange this morning as today is my first official day of maternity leave... children back at school and I'm still here!!

lullaby23 · 18/04/2017 08:37

Ouch raspberry hope your ankle heals up soon and glad scan was ok.

mighty great you weren't in a crowded bay, I would say hope you had a restful night but not with 2 hour tests!

Can't believe some of you braved Ikea on a BH that is very dedicated.

Hope everyone starting their mat leave today enjoys it.

After not feeling hiccups at all baby seems to be getting them once or twice a day now, such a funny feeling. Took DS for his 2 year check up then supermarket shop, completely wiped out now.

RasperryInAMelon · 18/04/2017 09:01

Thanks for the support ladies. It's very tender this morning - feels like I need it to click but I don't want to overdo it and force it / do more damage.

@vanilla8 I got stuck in the tub the other day 🙈 after I'd let the water start to drain and had to get DH to help me out... such a dignified moment!

How was last night in the end @mightymouse76 hope you managed to get some sleep?

@Sipperskipper I guess that's one way of looking at it. I know it's only a plan and of course ultimately I just want her to be safe, it's just annoying I guess

@Rustler74 They haven't really given me a reason as of yet to be honest. The reduced movement has been explained in that it's because her limbs are all behind the placenta so it doesn't make any sense... (I was awake at 4am but resisted temptation)

Sipperskipper · 18/04/2017 09:31

Completely agree raspberry - I had a very clear idea of how it would be, and it really helped me to keep calm and look forward to birth. Its so much more unsettling not knowing what is going to happen!! Let us know how you get on at your appointment.

Ouch autumn, hope you feel better soon.

MrsJW15 · 18/04/2017 09:47

Morning all. I was up late with indigestion but once I'd finally got to sleep managed to just about sleep through. Had lots of lovely cuddles with my friend's 3 week old yesterday. She was born at 35 weeks so is not yet full term. She's a very chilled baby though - hope ours is similar!

Well done those who braved Ikea this weekend! I'm glad our Ikea furniture building seems to be done, my dad nearly smashed one bit up with a hammer this weekend! (He never seems to believe that I might be able to help).

Mighty hope you got some sleep!

Autumn hope you are feeling a bit better. I've found sleeping on a duvet can help. I'm seeing my physio today, but as far as I can tell the best cure for PGP is no longer being pregnant!

jennymac31 · 18/04/2017 10:32

Morning ladies

Can now properly enjoy my first day of maternity leave as found out that my dd got her first choice of primary school!

Am in absolute shock, as didn't expect to get any of our three preferences. One of my dd's best friends was also allocated the same school. Just got off the phone with her mum and we were both in tears!

MissMooMoo · 18/04/2017 10:46

Morning all! First day of Mat leave for me too, a few hours in and I am bored! Waiting for a John Lewis delivery that is supposed to come before 2 (our pram!) So not much I can do before then.

mighty hope you managed some sleep
autumn hope you don't have to be in pain for too much longer!
raspberry hope your ankle feels better soon and that you don't need an induction, fingers crossed.
jenny hooray for first choice!! What a relief

Hope I haven't forgotten anyone in my catch up.
Baby was quiet most of the night but has spent the last 10 minutes or so pushing their foot/knee/elbow/random limb? Into my belly button, very strange feeling!!

jennymac31 · 18/04/2017 11:05

Miss moomoo - I know what you mean. I swear baby boy is attempting to wrap his toes around my ribcage with his constant jabbing! Shouldn't really complain, as it is reassuring feeling his movements.

BouncingBlueberry · 18/04/2017 11:11

I hope I don't go overdue now there's going to be a General Election. I'm a bit obsessive with politics and have never missed a chance to vote.

savagehk · 18/04/2017 11:13

bouncing time for a postal vote! We do that already.
