slight change from the one i had planned but figured we'll only truly be hard-boiled once we're overdue!

My MS is back a bit as well, not nice.

LOL @ your Monster Raspbery craving - hope you your tummy is not too sore later hon!

mammyjo · 04/03/2007 13:53

I could eat more of them now too but am trying to avoid them as I will end up on the toilet all night!

muminabigtumi · 04/03/2007 13:58

Bugmum - - I know....have to say though seeing how much laundry James generates I don't think standars will be quite so high second time round!

flumppootle · 04/03/2007 14:06

Leg is slightly better today thanks cd and mammyjo although still cant put a sock on that foot - too painful

lol at raspberry craving!

MIABT it depends on the stregth of the arnica. Do you know what 'c' you bought?
(assuming that you have the homeopathic ones)
I cant find any that are non-homeopathic but maybe I am looking in the wrong place????

muminabigtumi · 04/03/2007 14:06

Feeling very queasy....my Dad has just come round like a big kid with a huge bucket of frogs Spawn for James. I swear I nearly threw up....

My Dad was so excited - going on about how he had it when he was little and used to watch them turn into frogs and feed them bacon and all sorts.....so now in my kitchen I have frog spawn that no doubt I will end up killing....

Just spent 20 mins looking up "Care of Frog Spawn" as can't have death of many little froglets on my conscience!...aparently the gestation is 12 weeks!!!! I feel stressed at the commitment of nurturing a load of bloody frogs!!!

James is cock a hoop with excitement...Grandad asked him what he was going to call his frogs and he replied "Babies" - bless him....

Am terrified the cat will get them, have put them in a lidded Jar with air holes....oh lord they will be dead within the hour knowing my luck!

Hi All.
Hope you feeling ok tday Flumpootle.what a shock for you.V.sad that no-one helped.
Mammyjo hope you are managing your sickness ok.I have been feeling really sick on and off for a week or so.I read that it is quite normal to feel sick during the last few weeks of pregnancy[what joy]
I feel quite strange at the moment[emotions hayire].
Ds has lost his first baby tooth and another is nearly out and he made his own toast and nutella for breakfast this morning.I feel like he is growing up suddenly I think it is made more acute by the fact we are expecting a baby but i feel quite emotional.
Section due 2nd April now[4weeks and 1 day!]
Hope everyone is keeping well and enjoys nthe reat of Sunday.

1becomes3 · 04/03/2007 14:20

Afternoon all just popping in quickly as DD is in bed, TFFT she has been so grumpy today I think it is the bad weather.

I have over done it by having a good clean of the kitchen feel like (look away those who are feeling queasy!) this

So uncomfertable today, I don't think I have any room left inside me.

Hope you lot are feeling a little less sore than me.

Eddas · 04/03/2007 14:23

Hi everyone, hope all is well,

Flump, sorry to hear about the stairs how very scary.

Sorry can't remember anything else as usual

MIABT, nice list!!!

We actually got the rest of the baby bits out of the loft yesterday so i now have an absloute tonne of washing to do, ah well.

Feeling a bit more prepared now but really do need to finally pack the labour bag as i'm getting lots of twinges, period type pains and my bump seems to haev dropped about 50cm!!! Can't wait for mw of wed to see what this little one is up to.

Now does anyone know if i should sterilise my bottles etc before i go to hospital as they now expect me to take my own bits in for bottle feeding.

I can't see the point as they won't be too sterile after being in my labour bag for weeks. Will ask mw but thought someone may know. Obviously i will sterilise them once at the hospital!

flumppootle · 04/03/2007 14:59

MIABT I have found it difficult to find the dose aswell but found this on a website:

CAESARIAN SECTIONArnica 30c ? 4 hourly, starting 24 hours before surgery and continuing immediately after the birth for at least a week

I think that we are meant to take one 30c pillule 4 hourly?????

Any use?

flumppootle · 04/03/2007 15:02

Eddas, they expect you to take your own bottles into hospital Thats even more for you remember to pack, dont envy you.

Hope you are feeling better dooby, I am having a wobbly weekend too - hugs.

octopussyintummy · 04/03/2007 15:13

Feeling calmer re school thing - wait for appeal, wait for a space to come up, keep him at preschool and then if all else fails - move house next January. He has to start by April 2008.

Eddas - when I had ds2 the hosp provided formula in little bottles all ready made up.

The bf workshop yesterday was truly shit - terrible, terrible, terrible - nearly got up and left - the woman was crap and the advice was terrible! The clanger was when someone said breastfeeding was free and she said no not really because you have to eat healthily - WTF???!!!!!! Like you shouldn't be anyway - DUH!

DH brother gone into hosp with really bad stomach pains - having lots of tests - probably an ulcer or gall stones or something - on morphine - so must be in lots of pain - poor thing

Eddas · 04/03/2007 16:23

Yep our hospital now says we have to take our own in. They give you the first feed in a ready made bottle though, how kind

Couldn't belive it when mw told me, plus they're gonna show me how to make them up I laughed so much when mw said that but she was firm and said you'd be amazed how many people do it wrongly.

So the three thousand times i made dd's bottles doesn't give me an advantage then

Eddas · 04/03/2007 16:24

Oct, it's a real shame about the school. In our area they take into account siblings already attending but i guess if there are too many applicants to places they can't always do it. What a pain. Fingers crossed your appeal works or a place comes up before he has to start

Whendoobygotstuckupthechimney · 04/03/2007 16:42

Eddas you can get pre sterilised disposable ones i think from mother care and the jojo maman bebe catalogue[not sure how much they are tho]Or you can get bags that can fit 2 or 3 bottles taht you put in the microwave to sterilise i think they are in the jojo maman bebe catalogue. They have a website. The bags can be used numerous times[20] i think.and i think you get 2 or 3 in a pack.
Depending how long you are in hosp for would ready made formula be an option? Not sure how much more expensive it would be.
I like the lists of good and bad buys.I have been thinking of investing in the Lindam day and night feeder so i don't disturb the dogsDidn't have them first time round!
It is surprising how little you need really isn't it?
Never had bath stuff used to bath ds in the sink. But am thinking of the bath support thing.
Am interested in Arnica as having a section too.So start taking 24 hours before the op?
I am taking in some of that Matron stuff that Leslie Ash promotes as am really worried about MRSA AND THE Clostridium infections wafting around. In my hosp the antibacterial hand rub is situated on a wardrobe by the bed so anyone wishing to use it would have to clamber over a chair etc to get to it.I have one to put at the end of the bed and one to take into bathrooms.

Eddas · 04/03/2007 16:53

Thanks dooby but readymade is a no no, they've already said that and they say they provide a cold water steriliser so presume i'm supposed to use that. Have bought the microwave bags for home emergency use. Last time i thought you could only use them once and therefore were overpriced, what a dumbass

It's a joke really this bottle lark, obviously not the case all across the country so will quiz mw on wed to see exactly how it works. Personally think they could still let you use the bottles there like i did with dd.

I got a night and day thing last time for dd, but she slept through after the first week so didn't use it. I think it is worth it though and have it ready for this time as i'm sure i won't get another great sleeper, keeping fingers crossed

muminabigtumi · 04/03/2007 17:26

Eddas - am shocked at you having to take your own bottles in - what a right royal PITA that is!!

Flumpootle - thanks re the Arnica - I shall start taking it then the day before and every 4 hrs.

Dooby - good idea re antibacterial stuff - think may get a bit of that to take in too - have to say the thought of MRSA and other infections really does worry me too.

I have just woken up after a 2 and a halfhour nap - I was shattered and conked out on my bed upstairs...would have slept longer if it were not for the pain in back and legs - so uncomfortable if I lie in one position for any length of time.

1b3 - sorry to hear you are feeling so full of baby...as I've said before - I have nothing but admiration for you.

Grrr - Had Haggis planned for tea - really looking forward to it - Phil has decided he "doesn't like it" - like a small child he has never really tried it and just doesn't like the idea of it....sometimes it's like having 2 small children. He can swing if he things I'm wracking my brains for what to make now!

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2007 17:43

Gosh I am tired - been painting with the DD's and then SIL and fiance dropped in - Have soooo much to doooo and am baby sitting for a friend tonight - bugger. Feel a bit all over the place. At least I still have tomorrow night.

Must go, girls screaming ......

maveta · 04/03/2007 18:37

Hello! I´ve been popping in to read but not had much to add, my head is swimming with all the lists and plans and organisation going on! I´ve still got 7 weeks to go so, hopefully, still plenty of time but feel quite panicked at how organised some of you seem!! I was so organised to start with but haven´t done anything more for over a month. Nursery still to paint, mattress for cot to buy, haven´t even THOUGHT about starting washing baby clothes etc. yet and my hospital bag is a vague list in my head that I can´t remember from one day to the next!

Some of you seem so close now! Am very jealous - I don´t want to be last!!

SOSPL - I am with you on the rib pain - just an hour or so walking around town yesterday sent me straight to bath when I got in and again today after a little walk around I already felt sore. They are still hurting now, think I am going to lean over my birth ball for a bit and see if it eases off. Saw so many women today with teeny babies and I just know they could see how much I wanted to be them!

Katy44 · 04/03/2007 18:42

Don't worry maveta, I'm sure I'll be last.

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2007 18:43

Girl's in the bath now - still feeling all over the place - Wibble. One hour til baby-sitting ....

YvieE · 04/03/2007 18:45

Evening all

CD - Thanks alot for the ticket, i arrived home today to find it waiting for me, am very excited. Have you finshed packing for scotland yet? I bet the DDs are excited.

MIABT like you I've been eating peanut butter and peanuts during pregnancy and i suffered from eczema as a child. I just couldn't resist and seriously everytime i ate it even though it tasted so good i felt so bad (after). I am looking forward to alcohol, haven't had a drop since i found out i was pregnant - am now gagging for a large glass of white whine or two

Pesha - your DP sounds like mine. He has forbidden me to give birth on my due date 21/04 because Ultimate Fighting Championship is on at Manchester Arena - I didn?t even dignify him with a response when he came out with that one!

Ellie - Glad to hear you and Stephen worked it out, looks like its going well - tea with the family and all!

Flump - So sorry to hear about your fall, it must have been very distressing for you and DD - I'm just glad you are ok and no serious damage was done. I can't believe some people, but at least there was one good samaritan.
Octopussy - you made me chuckle re BF advisor, was it just the one workshop or will you be attending any more?

To all who are feeling sick and yucky - get well soon, hope you get a good nights rest. x

maveta · 04/03/2007 18:57

Katy44 - did you finish your assignment??!

I´ve been eating peanuts and peanut butter all the way through. I didn´t for the first few months and then just couldn´t hold out anymore, had the biggest craving for peanut butter and just had to. Longing for wine but mostly longing to ENJOY wine again. Have let myself have the odd glass but to be honest it doesn´t seem to taste the same and I don´t think I´ve finished a glass yet. Had a 0% alcohol beer today which was actually nicer than I expected.

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2007 19:02

Glad it arrived safely Yvie!!

Oooops, I shouldn't be here....
