slight change from the one i had planned but figured we'll only truly be hard-boiled once we're overdue!

Hiya loves. Twinkle, Octopussy and Yvie, glad your appts went well. Can't believe you were there for 6 hours! My word!

Hiya Waspelly.

Flump, sorry to hear about the cake - did have a chuckle to myself - not laughing at you, laughing with you!!

Back from the farm which was a great success.

Need to sort tea... again! Back later. x

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 18:05

still need an email from those below on [email protected] Oooggs eca Opinionsrus Pesha

and anyone else that wants to share their email, even if they don't want to join the buddy list

OP posts:
maveta · 01/03/2007 18:19

Twinkle, the buddy list is so we are all paired with someone who we share our mobile no. with so we can let them know when we go into labour/ have had our baby so they can then let the rest of the girls on here know. Haven´t checked if you are on the list yet but just email Ellie on the address she´s given and you´ll be added.

Couple of questions for you all

  1. Do we need to put plastic sheets on our beds to protect them from possible damage if our waters break while we are in it and I guess also for afterwards? I have seen these for sale and want to check if it is something people use or not and if so, from when??
  1. All hospital lists seem to include nursing bras but from what I gather your boobs swell a lot with the milk coming in so how do you know what size? 1 cup size bigger? 3????

x

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 18:27

ok, mattress cover is up to you, i never bothered last time, hadn't really occured to me!

as for nursing bra's, they recommend that you get measured for them somewhere that know what they're doing after 36-38 weeks as your milk will have started coming in by then. when i got measured last time they said that you should be able to fit your hand inside the cup as then you'll have room to expand as much as you are likely to during feeding

OP posts:
maveta · 01/03/2007 18:31

hmm. measuring isn´t going to work. They don´t do bra measuring here I have tried in vain several times to explain to shop assts that not everyone is a B cup but they insist that if you just add an extender at the back, it will fit

Think big sis will need to bring selection from m&s and take back whatever doesn´t fit..and I´ll have to wobble around the house braless until she gets here...

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 18:36

ok, give this a go

then she could bring some for you in the size you measure and a couple of sizes either side? or you could order some?

OP posts:
Ellieump · 01/03/2007 18:38

they make them to stretch to fit, so there'll be a bit of space in it to start with. and if you can get your hand in to cup your breast it should be fine, but DONT measure til at least 36 weeks!

I'm here too!

Maveta - I have a few different bras but the most comfortable one is a bravada one which I got in JoJomamanbebe - it comes in small, medium and large - I have a medium and it fits really nicely but there is room for growth. It is soft enough to wear at night with breastpads too which normal bras aren't. My favourite maternity/feeding bras are emma jane ones - so soft and comfy - but more like normal bras!

Been back to the medical herbalist and got some flower waters to help me sleep and am allowed to take during day if having a bad time! She said that the Bachs flower rescue remedy is good for after birth when you are in shock or very anxious but wouldn't recommend them for daily use! I have to say it is like going for counselling - have been through my diet, moods, pain, pregnancy - all sorts! She says I need to eat seeds, nuts, fruit etc every couple of hours to stabilise my sugar levels and therefore my moods which she thinks are completely haywire! Need to avoid choc stuff like that to give my body a chance to level out a bit. Will follow her advice as do feel life is a bit of a rollercoaster at the moment!

Having chicken wrapped in proscuttio, with lemon mayo and asparagus with a rocket and parmesan salad - yummy! also have a glass of red wine!

Off to nose other threads...

octopussyintummy · 01/03/2007 19:26

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 19:35
