Morning! Have been up since 6am as wide awake and totally bored of just laying there switching from laying on one hip to the other. Have been enjoying the peace and quiet down in the kitchen, but I hear noises from upstairs which means Emily will come barging through the door any minute......
Bugger Hellcat!!! You've just reminded me that I wanted to watch the moon eclipse too, but was zonked on the sofa by 9pm last night and dh had to drag me upstairs to bed. Bum bum bum!!!!! Not quite the same watching it on TV.
Funny as I seem to have all this energy 1st thing in the morning, but by mid-afternoon I'm ready to drop. Am going shopping later today to pick up the final load of bits and bobs for the baby - dh is coming so he can carry everything! Have been reading and nodding my way through the lists of 10 best and 10 worst things to buy and have agreed with pretty much all of them. The only one I didn't concur with was the Avent handheld breast pump - I found it brilliant, really easy & convenient to use. But then I always had plenty of milk, so I guess that's why it worked for me. If you were considering getting one I'd say wait til you've established breast-feeding and see whether you're a Jersey cow (like me). If you are then a hand-held pump may be the way ahead!.
Pesha - hope it all goes OK with XP today. Why's he turning up now to cause turmoil? Hope you get your ground-rules sorted and agreed so he doesn't confuse & upset dd.
Ellie - can't believe Stephen comes on here and lurks! Are you reading this now Stephen? Hope you're not going to come on here pretending to be a pregnant lady. Tut tut, if you're here you should pipe up as we feel we all know you now!
All this talk of peanuts!!! I keep looking at the jar of peanut butter in the cupboard and fantasising about peanut butter on warm toast. Think you are indeed supposed to still avoid peanuts when bfing, esp if you have a family history of excema, asthema etc (I can't spell medical words!) which I do .
As for eating during labour, last time I remember the midwife saying to me "you must eat something, you're gonna be here for ages and you need your energy" and virtually forcing some biscuits down me. Which I promptly threw back up again. I'd just say listen to your body - if you need to eat something then do, but stick to simple things like toast or biscuits and have a bucket close by just in case!
Baby was having major wiggles yesterday, can't help feeling sorry for her as she must be very squashed laying across my tummy. I keep thinking she must be trying to turn herself around to get her head down, but can't seem to make it. I can literally put my hand on her bum on the left hand side of my tummy and push, and then feel her head pushing out the other side of my tummy (feel a bit mean doing this but it's quite fascinating!). Have another scan on Friday so will hopefully find out if I can have her naturally, or will have to be the dreaded CS.
Sorry have rambled on for ages, hope you've all had a decent night's sleep and are feeling bright & breezy today.
