It doesn't always take place in your home, ours are in our community hospital. I had to collect my notes folder when I booked the appointment and fill in is much of it as possible in advance. I've got my appointment on Wednesday.

Cath1212 · 19/02/2017 18:44

Thanks Lovechild2016 and emwithme
I'm sure it won't be an issue for us Smile think it's because I've had two makes me a bit more concerned! But I'll leave it in the hands of the doctors I guess

CarpeDiem83 · 19/02/2017 19:42

Wow, there are so many of us on this thread now!

We went out for Sunday lunch today and there was a couple with very cute baby twins in the pub - DH and I had a bit of a moment where we looked at each other in horror that could be us though! One will be plenty thank you Grin

I had proper booking in appointment with GP on Friday, got my notes and had a letter about 12 week scan on 27th march, so all feeling a bit more real. Seeing the midwife in a couple of weeks when will be 8+4.

Hope everyone is doing well.

rainingcats · 19/02/2017 20:07

Just been catching up - lots of people on here now since i last checked in! Spent this weekend feeling a bit wobbly ... almost like a hangover hope this isn't the start of the sickness! 7 weeks tomorrow and im also feeling so tired, having to nap after doing anything even slightly active. Moving house in two weeks so need to get motivated! Went to the doctor on Friday who is referring me to midwife, a bit pointless really as she didnt tell me anything I didnt already know although she did give me the flu jab there and then!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 19/02/2017 20:25

Re LETZ a friend had that and had to go for extra scans as they said it could mean the cervix could be weak and lead to premature labour, and sure enough her little one arrived at 34 weeks (all well though). No idea of what % come early versus on time though.

Booking in for me was always at GP, and no don't take wee. When you've got into the midwife system they will supply you with sample tubes and you take a sample to each appointment with the midwife.

Anotherminime · 19/02/2017 20:28

Silly question, for those who have said they either ovulate on both sides or know which side they've ovulated - how on earth do you know this? Is there some thing I can do to find this out? Although it's a bit late for me now, non identical twins run in the family, I'll be kicking myself if I could have known and avoided them 😂

The thought of twins scares the bejeesus out of me, especially as I already have one!!

DancingUnicorn · 19/02/2017 20:48

I was wondering about the flu jab actually. Is it recommended any time of year? I assume it's still recommended?

emwithme · 19/02/2017 20:51

Another I have always just known when I ovulate - I get a sharp pain (like someone's punched me). Sometimes it's so sharp it takes my breath away. I never thought it was weird though, as my mum said that she'd always been able to feel when she'd ovulated, as had my gran.

PlayOnWurtz · 19/02/2017 21:01

That pain is mittleschmertz or middle pain.

rainingcats · 19/02/2017 21:05

The doctor said that February is normally the cut off for the flu jab ... she said i was in luck as the surgery still had a few vaccines left giving me the inpression if they had not have had any she would have told me not to worry

DancingUnicorn · 19/02/2017 21:20

Ok, glad to hear that! I hate needles, dreading all the blood tests!!

Rufus200 · 19/02/2017 21:52

I thought twins would be awesome with my 1st pregnancy. I categorically do not feel that way now. DS has been a nightmare sleeper at times. The idea of two waking each other, OMG no. I had to take Clomid so multiples are a risk.
I've had violent nausea most of this afternoon. AF isn't even due until tomorrow, with DS I didn't get nauseous until gone 6wks.

Nausea tips- find out what works for you. I need air con on my face blasting while in the car. Constant supply of polo mints. Cold water to drink and elderflower cordial. Pressure point wrist bands. Sweet and salt popcorn. The popcorn was the only thing that took my nausea away with DS long enough for me to go to sleep otherwise I lay in bed retching all night. Literally had to eat a bag just before I went to bed.

Amyappletree · 19/02/2017 22:01

Hi ladies! Can I join in too please? I am 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant. My due date is 20th October. Didn't think so many people would be on here, really exciting and reassuring! xx

punkpuffin · 19/02/2017 22:12

I always loved the idea of twins until I had my first. I definetly would not cope with twins, luckily I had an early scan and there's only one in there!

DancingUnicorn · 19/02/2017 22:34

Hi! Apple tree! Congratulations.

SophieGiroux · 19/02/2017 23:47

Welcome AppleTree! Same due date as me Smile

punkpuffin · 20/02/2017 02:44

Anyone else awake? I have to keep getting up to go to the loo, I'm sure this dodnt happen so early last time!

Zookeeper73 · 20/02/2017 06:20

I'm up, puffin! Though it's 5 in the afternoon here Grin

I hope I'm not having twins, 3 under 2 sounds a bit too hard!

Dancingunicorn, I hate needles too! Last pregnancy, I almost fainted after the first blood test but got progressively better with each one and in the end they didn't worry me too much. Not looking forward to them again though

Trytowin · 20/02/2017 07:25

I raise you having to keep getting up to mine not a wink of sleep. No reason why as soooo very tired :-( plus side app says it's the size of a blueberry! Not sure how I'm gonna get thru the day tho!

PlayOnWurtz · 20/02/2017 07:32

Does anyone know of any tracker apps that allow you to adjust things if you've got an odd length cycle? I only have 24 day cycle and the apps I found only account for a 28 so kept telling me I couldn't possibly know I was pregnant by my lmp

doomkittycleo · 20/02/2017 07:42

The NHS website asks for your average cycle length, not sure about apps though

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 20/02/2017 08:56

Re ovulation, I get a massive pressure in the build up to ovulation, feel swollen like I've got a golf ball inside that there isn't room for, and then a pain, and then I get one surge on an OPK and ovulate that night and once I've ovulated the pressure subsides quickly (and my cervical mucus dries up) so I can't fail to notice ovulation. This cycle i had the surge on the Saturday, left ovulation on the Sunday, another surge on the Sunday and then pretty sure right side ovulated on the Monday (have never had both sides before, normally it's just my left that ovulates, kind of thought my right side was faulty!)

Got a 3+ today on clearblue digital, at 5+1, which bodes well I hope for location scan later today, as from what I've read if it's ectopic then hcg is usually low. Today can't be over fast enough. Then it's just the waiting until the next scan 6+4 for heartbeat and then waiting to make sure chromosomes all ok. Then I might start to believe there will be a baby coming home in 34 weeks time!

Zookeeper73 · 20/02/2017 08:58

Good luck for the scan, Loopy!

Starfish83 · 20/02/2017 09:08

Hope all goes well today, Loopy!

Star xx

TippetyTapWriter · 20/02/2017 09:16

Good luck loopy!

6 weeks yesterday, took an age to get there and it's still so early!! Insomnia has struck the last few nights and also keep needing to pee every hour or two. Get bladder cramps so I can't ignore it!! Forgot how fun pregnancy was! Still no nausea but didn't get it last time and my mum never got any with her three so perhaps I won't get it. I'd had two early scans at 5 weeks and 7 weeks last time as got pregnant straight after a chemical pregnancy so I needed dating scans. Seems so weird to have to wait until 12 weeks this time. It's so far away! I had already seen a heartbeat and had a scan pic this time last pregnancy. It's doing my head in having to be patient. I hate uncertainty :(
