Mooseville · 05/12/2016 18:41

Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

I did nicky, highly recommend. My friend had a miscarriage thought to be through contracting flu at 21 weeks

Musicgrrl · 16/12/2016 18:16

Omg wanting that's awful! I have had the flu jab nicky but that is because I have a weakened immune system as a result of an unrelated condition and had it before I was pregnant. You should be able to get it if you tell them you're pregnant. I would if I were you.

Nicky883 · 16/12/2016 19:40

Thanks both ! Sorry about your friend wanting how awful ! Do i just call the gp and ask for it ? Do they do it there ? I am more stressed now if thats even possible !

Musicgrrl · 16/12/2016 20:10

Please don't worry nicky Just call up and say you're pregnant and need to get the flu jab. I think most surgeries do it on site but just ask them how they do it. The chances of you getting flu before you get the jab are probably the same as being hit by a car!

Musicgrrl · 16/12/2016 20:10

Sorry, that wasn't supposed to be such a morbid comparison!

WantingBaby1 · 16/12/2016 20:22

Yep, as music says, just call up, explain you're pregnant and want the jab and they'll offer you an apt. Highly recommended everyone on here has it. A numb arm for a few hours is a small price to pay for protecting mum and baby.

Nicky883 · 16/12/2016 20:33

Thanks both i ll call on monday !

LovelyFishy · 16/12/2016 21:21

I don't normally get the flu jab but it was nice and simple, just told receptionist I was pregnant and she booked me in. Didn't even get a numb arm or anything!

So sad to hear about your friend Wanting. Sad

marmitecheesetoast · 17/12/2016 12:29

Aha so this is where you're all hiding! Grin was wondering where you'd got to Moose!

Mind if I join you or am I too far along?! Do feel a bit out of place with all the mamas with their actual babies on the other thread now sometimes, although the insight and advice is invaluable!! So think this thread is good idea!

Marmite EDD 14th April (eep still seems a novelty writing that!) so currently 23+1 - yikes, how did that happen already?!

Congrats Kav on your BFP!!

Hi Fishy nice to see you over here too!

Waves and congrats to the others too i don't recognise from my time on TTC thread!

Need to have a proper read through thread so far, but just on way out door, but got too excited not to say hi when saw this thread! Grin happy to see you guys again!

Mooseville · 17/12/2016 16:00

Hi marmite (waves)

Yes I am waaaaaay out of my depth on that thread! In fact it panics me seeing what hard work it is. I'd just like to stay in my pregnancy and dream baby that will easily breastfeed and sleep all night bubble for now!!!

Musicgrrl · 17/12/2016 16:50

I am having one of those days when I really don't feel pregnant at all. Only 5+2 so know this wouldn't be completely unusual but it's so hard not to worry! Anyone else felt like this?

Mooseville · 17/12/2016 17:18

Music I'm 16 weeks today and I still don't feel pregnant! I look a bit rounder (worse as I had a big tummy anyway!) but I honestly feel no different. It's very strange and a bit disconcerting. In a way it's sometimes a relief when the queasiness hits as you think "aaah that's pregnancy!"

OP posts:
LovelyFishy · 17/12/2016 17:21

Hello Marmite! I've kept a foot in both camps. Like you said, sometimes the other thread can be a bit overwhelming!

Moose I'm with you on the bubble, still hard to imagine there'll be an actual factual baby at the end of this!

Music I didn't feel anything until nausea kick in around week 6/7 so sounds totally normal to me. I had no weird taste/heightened smell/super sore boobs or anything!

I think I can safely say I'm having cravings now. Getting some very specific requests from baby: prawn cocktail with iceberg lecture, chocolate fudge cake, Wensleydale cheese. They're all things I normally like but not normally with such determination! Confused

Musicgrrl · 17/12/2016 18:01

Thanks ladies, that's really reassuring! On some days when I feel a bit light headed or feel a bit wet down there (sorry tmi) I can reassure myself that I'm pregnant and on other days I feel like I'm clutching at straws a bit! Will continue to take each day as it comes.

Musicgrrl · 17/12/2016 18:02

fishy loving your cravings. I'm afraid I'm only with you on the chocolate cake one!

MrsG280516 · 17/12/2016 19:27

I've usually got a major sweet tooth but I'm finding that I really only want savoury things lately, I'm just not too fussed about chocolate or cake at the moment! Very strange for me.

kavanaughkj · 17/12/2016 23:37

Heya marmite! You're sooo welcome to join in around here, all the baby talk on the other thread is fabulous but scary at the same time and when you're halfway through a pregnancy it must feel like you're not ready for that yet! It's lovely to see you too, btw _ I kind of stalked the other thread but could never really post there.

I had a flu jab Nicky too - when I went for my initial consult with the GP she gave me one then and there. Definitely feel happier for having had it and just had a bit of a bruised arm after was all.

No cravings or sickness for me yet. Majorly achy boobs and things smell really weird, plus I am MEGA gassy all the time. I'm hoping that last thing is just the pregnancy and not me!! I'm also getting breathless more easily.

marmitecheesetoast · 18/12/2016 08:46

Ah thanks guys!

Realised reading back I didn't do my stats properly, so;
Marmite
31
BFP cycle 3 (of loooong 35+ day cycles!)
EDD 14th April
(Maybe we should start a list of due dates? Bit like the bus tickets of old days!)
Also I'm 'team vanilla' as we kept sex a surprise at 20 week scan!

I too am still not quite 'on board' that there'll be an actual baby at the end of this. I feel like by about 15-20 weeks I was like ok, I'm pregnant, this is a thing. But the fact that means there's an actual BABY growing INSIDE ME?! Nooooo...! I still feel like I'm just pretending?!

Don't worry Music sounds totally normal to me. I only had mild nausea that early on (oh and gassiness too Kav!) proper nausea didn't hit til a week or two later then actual sickness got a lot worse about 11 - 14 weeks which took me by surprise! I also didn't have sore boobs at all til about 10 weeks - which meant I was v surprised by BFP - don't trust the boobs guys! Wink Hang on in there you'll definitely feel pregnant soon enough! For me having private scan at 8 weeks was the first thing that made it seem even vaguely real - definitely recommend if you can afford one. So amazing to see a heartbeat.

Just wait til you get to 2nd trimester and you (hopefully) lose all the 1st tri symptoms and also suddenly have loads more energy and feel back to your normal self - then the whole questioning of am I really pregnancy kicks in again! Although at least you'll have the start of a wee bump by then!

Fishy I've been having major cheese cravings too! Even though I know I'm definitely getting enough calcium. My other cravings have mainly been citrus - can't get enough citrus - grapefruits, grapefruit juice, satsumas, lemons, freshly squeezed lemon juice on everything I could possibly put it on mmmm Hmm

I would definitely have the flu jab, although I was told to book it after 12 weeks by MW at booking in appt, GP never mentioned it to me.

I need to figure out about booking whooping cough jab now

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

Oh and you'll probably eventually stop with the constant knicker checking around 15 from my experience?!

Mooseville · 18/12/2016 09:34

Just a quick note on the boobs. What I thought were sore boobs during the 2WW were poor imitations. When the actual sore boobs hit at about week 6-10... did I know about it! I literally would almost cry after taking my bra off, and I couldn't even cuddle DP in bed asthey hurt when they touched him!!! Ouch!!!! Grin

Ha sounds familiar Moose! Have you had the stabbing pains yet?! Fun! Grin

Nicky883 · 18/12/2016 18:13

Have a weird question :p i am 4w+4 does that mean i am on the 5th week technically so impantation has occured ? I an bit confused when reading how the baby grows each week

MrsG280516 · 18/12/2016 19:17

Nicky implantation happens before you get your BFP. The apps/website info for the early weeks aren't really all that accurate as the baby is just a ball of cells at that point. I found it quite annoying tbh as I had already implanted and got my BFP at just past week 3!

Nicky883 · 18/12/2016 21:42

Mrg thank you . I am kind of glad i didnt test before af was due i would be even more crazy with worry !

Nicky883 · 19/12/2016 08:29

Just booked a viability scan on 14th of jan ! I ll be 8w+3 on that day ! Is the first time i am wishing christmas away :p

marmitecheesetoast · 19/12/2016 09:24

Hahaw aw that's exciting Nicky!

Well after a month or so off, the boob pain has returned with a vengeance Shock

Also have not slept properly for a week now as I cannot get comfortable my hips and back ache all night long and every time I wake up I've rolled over onto my back again ConfusedSad

I'm also feeling a bit freaked out this morning - a girl in my April due date group has had her baby! Obviously that's super super early but yikes!
