Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

I got really faint 'cute' nausea at week 6, enough to make me think yeah, I'm pregnant! Then debilitating nausea weeks 7-9. Luckily it cleared up after that!

I'm very jealous of everyone getting bigger boobs! Mine weren't big to start with and have only got a little bit bigger.

Kav sorry to hear about work. Hopefully it's just the realisation of all the change and things will settle down soon.

MrsG280516 · 13/12/2016 17:04

Aww Fishy I was hoping I had maybe got away with the nausea. I really am praying I don't get it too bad as I don't want to be walking around New York in a few weeks trying not to barf on anyone!

kavanaughkj · 13/12/2016 17:19

I'm hoping to skip it too, MrsG, or Christmas dinner is going to be a washout! You'll love NYC though. :)

Mooseville · 13/12/2016 19:40

I've been very lucky with sickness. Only suck once very early on. I had the odd bit of queasiness and feeling generally yuck, but that had gone completely by week 12.
Think I've got a bit of round ligament pain now (thanks Dr google) funny pain around my lower tummy/groin at odd times.
Tried to book my 16 week appointment and the surgery said there was no spaces. So not really sure what to do now! Guess I'll have to phone the midwife and ask her what she suggests?????

Hi ladies,

Just catching up.

kav that's a difficult situation regarding work, stick at it and hopefully it'll get better. I've been in my new job and departments for 3 months and still feel very new despite having been in the company for a year now. Takes some getting used to.

Not too much sickness for me, a little but queasy but mainly just feeling exhaused. I travel and hour each way to and from work and find it really tiring. Fortunately I'm able to go to bed early but even getting extra sleep doesn't seem to cure the constant exhaustion, especially in the afternoon and evening!

kavanaughkj · 14/12/2016 19:17

I hear you Wanting! I had a day off work today but fully intended to catch up on card writing, present wrapping and the like - have slept most of the day away feeling utterly knackered and have now woken up to what feels like indigestion but am wondering if is the first signs of pregnancy queasiness.

It's still so early! I'm only 5+5, I didn't expect to be feeling so tired already.

Hope you managed to sort out an appointment with the midwife Moose!

Back to trying to get a bit of work done. Just wanted to check in.

Musicgrrl · 14/12/2016 21:59

You guys with your boobs! Bit jealous to be honest. No change in mine apart from my nipples might be a bit puffier which is not a good look...

Is anyone else waking up early for no reason? I keep waking up at 5:30am without fail. I don't need a wee or anything.

I don't have too much else going on otherwise. Still feeling a bit like AF will start (wet down there and a bit of a heavy feeling in my stomach) and am very tired. I'm 5+0 tomorrow.

kav glad you got the opportunity to rest up a bit today! I think your feelings about you job are quite natural. No surprises you miss your colleagues of 15 years! But I definite think it's worth giving the new role some time Smile

wanting I'm with you on the commute. I'm 1 hr 15 each way and most of the time standing on trains/tubes. It's not very restful! I guess that's where baby on board badges come in handy? Did you say your OH has got you one already or was that someone else?

moose what do they expect you to do about it? If they want you to have a 16 week appointment isn't that their problem?! Hope you can resolve without too much hassle.

mrs sounds like you have an exciting few weeks coming up what with your scan, Xmas and then NY! FX for no nausea!

fishy love the concept of cute nausea! Wonder how many of us will get it. I know that those that don't are really lucky but I can imagine worrying if I didn't that it wasn't normal! (Although I know there is no real 'normal' when it comes to symptoms...)

Excited for those with pre Xmas scans coming up! Xmas Smile

Nicky883 · 15/12/2016 19:33

Hi all
Can i tentatively join you ? Cant believe this but after 12 months of trying i finally got my bfp today ! My stats are
28
Bfp on cycle 12
Due date :25th of august

I have no idea how to calvulate weeks plus dates but the clear blue says 1-2 but i am guessing we are counting from last af ? Just been to the gp had an appoitment to discuss infertility actually but i ended up getting the pregnant package ! Cant stop grinning and running to the toilet to check for spotting as i feel wet down there and have some cramping ! Anyone else has this ??
The information pack has alot of forms am i suppose to complete those before seing the midwife ? I am getting ahead of myself !
Still havent told dh as he is on christmas drinks a box is waiting for him when he comes home !

Musicgrrl · 15/12/2016 19:47

Nicky yay! So glad you have joined us! How exciting! AF style cramping and having a wet feeling down there has pretty much been the extent of my symptoms for the last two weeks so yes, I think it's normal!

You count weeks and days from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP) but if you have funny cycles and know when you O'd I think it's better to adjust. That way when you go for scans etc the baby will measure the right size for that number of weeks (hopefully!) So if you were 14dpo today you would be 4+0, i.e. add two weeks onto your ovulation date.

Can't wait to hear how your DH reacts! I haven't had a doctors appointment yet. I called reception and they booked me straight in for the booking appointment with the mid wife that happens at 8 weeks. Guess I'll do forms then. Mrs definitely saw a GP first so sure she'll know about forms.

Mooseville · 15/12/2016 20:25

Moose i dont think the worrying will ever end !

LovelyFishy · 15/12/2016 21:43

Welcome and congratulations Nicky! Sounds normal to me, I only wear black knickers now so I can't drive myself too mad!

Music I go through phases of waking up for no reason, luckily it's never lasted more than 1 week but I've had it a few times now!

MrsG280516 · 15/12/2016 21:58

Hi Nicky congrats!!

I had a what was called an "early bird" appointment after seeing my GP which involved some forms, it was kind of like a pre-registration with a community midwife before the actual booking appointment. She weighed me and measured my height to work out BMI, did a carbon monoxide test and went through the basics of what not to eat/do. I got given some booklets and one of the forms needs to be taken with me to my booking appointment.

kavanaughkj · 16/12/2016 08:16

Nicky! Welcome, lovely to have another long timer join us :) I'm happy when anybody from the TTC thread joins ofc, but I feel a special kind of empathy with the longtimers who had probably been on the way to convincing themselves (like me) that it would never happen!

Looking forward to Scottishlady joining too - so far that TTC thread has been well named! Long may that continue Grin

Nicky883 · 16/12/2016 08:29

Thanks Kav. I am a bit terrified today . Don't really "feel" pregnant no nausea etc just bigger boobs ! I would thought i would feel over the moon when i finally got my bfp which i do but i am also so scared !I think these 12 weeks will go by very slowly.
Was thinking of getting a private scan earlier. When can you realistically here the babys heart ?

Mooseville · 16/12/2016 08:46

I had a scan at 7+3 and you couldn't hear the heartbeat but could see it flashing in the middle of the 'blob'
See my earlier posts on the thread for my rant about the NHS nuchal testing and recommendations for private harmony testing and 12 weeks scans if you are slightly older in years and if you can afford it. Wish I'd done it and saved a week of worry that baby had Down syndrome from being high risk on NHS testing due to my age, 38 at term. I'm still a little sore about it!!! It's also happened to another couple of ladies on the June babies thread too...

WantingBaby1 · 16/12/2016 10:59

Welcome nicky! I totally understand the fear. I've been worried for the last 2.5 weeks since I found out I was pregnant. Totally normal and not much you can do I'm afraid. Every day the risk goes down though Smile

Nicky883 · 16/12/2016 11:13

Thanks Moose i had a read through i am so sorry you had to go through all that !
Well i take it back nausea just started !!

Musicgrrl · 16/12/2016 11:30

Haha Nicky that is pretty early to be getting nausea, maybe you've got twins in there! SmileSmile I don't feel at all pregnant it and I'm 5 weeks.

MrsG280516 · 16/12/2016 11:41

I'm starting to get the odd wave of nausea here and there but I find it happens more often when I'm hungry. Also I can smell EVERYTHING. So annoying!

Nicky883 · 16/12/2016 11:43

Music It was like a wave of queasiness /nausea maybe like mrsG says i am just hungry :p

Musicgrrl · 16/12/2016 12:24

I think it's a good sign guys, means hormones are ramping up! Grin How many weeks are you now mrs? 6?

MrsG280516 · 16/12/2016 12:28

Music I'm 5+3 now from LMP but I reckon its more like 5+6 or 6w going from ovulation.

Nicky883 · 16/12/2016 17:44

Did anyone had the flu jab ? My gp didnt mentioned it at all but is in the midwife pack
