Hello!!

This is a new wave of grads for those from #TTC1 - Those on the first grade thread are dealing with poonamis and crying babies, while we are still waving our FRER's and wondering if that line is really a figment of our imagination!

Feel free to join in, if you too are embarking on this crazy journey to parenthood!!

Finally 6 weeks tomorrow, I feel like its taken ages to get to this point! Just wishing it was Friday now as it would be my last day at work for 10 days. So not in the mood for being at work right now.

Musicgrrl · 19/12/2016 09:47

I'm 6 weeks on Thursday, Mrs. I agree it is taking an age! And I seem to be freaking myself out more and more as time goes on. At least you know that technically you are further on than that because of your early O. Have you had any more symptoms? A few times now I have had a sick feeling in my throat (not my stomach) and it has eventually gone away when I have burped. (Sorry, that is probably TMI!) but other than that I am still worrying myself with my lack of symptoms!

Good idea to book a scan nicky, I'm planning to book one for early Jan too. wanting do you have one coming up this week?

marmite that's scary stuff! Is the baby okay this early on? Hope the bad sleep doesn't last much longer.

MrsG280516 · 19/12/2016 10:03

Not much really Music still having some worryingly strong cramps, boobs still look and feel huge. DH keeps asking me if I'm wearing one of my padded bras and I'm not! I've felt the odd bit of nausea but it doesn't stay for long enough to put me off my food or anything. I can see me gaining a ton of weight with this pregnancy!

WantingBaby1 · 19/12/2016 10:40

I'm wishing the days away until my scan on Thurs. Feeling symptomless but for the sore and achy boobs, which is making me anxious. 7 wks today. Can't wait to tell my parents at Xmas.

marmitecheesetoast · 19/12/2016 12:54

She was a few weeks ahead of me Music so i think baby was born at 25 weeks. Still extremely early but they are in the NICU and apparently doing well so far, a long road ahead though. Must be so scary. Once you get to 24 weeks your pregnancy is officially classed as 'viable' which means that doctors are required to do everything in their power to save your baby's life if it's born early.

MrsG i put on quite a bit of weight in the 1st trimester as eating was the only thing that actually kept my nausea in check! If i tried to get out of bed without eating a couple of dry crackers first I would just vom straight away!

MrsG280516 · 19/12/2016 13:15

After having previously lost over 3 stone then maintaining within 7lbs or so of a healthy BMI I am scared of piling it all back on! My mum gained 4 stone when she was pregnant with me, it really doesn't bode well haha!

Mooseville · 19/12/2016 17:50

Gosh marmite that's so early. I hope it manages to thrive.

I am overweight so I have been trying really hard not to put on too much. I had only put on four pounds but then have managed to double that in the last week since Xmas snacking came in! Shock

Managed to get in for my 16 week appointment. Really hoping that she listens for the heartbeat as I just really don't feel pregnant at all and would like some reassurance! I keep trying to feel for possible movements but don't think I've felt any yet....

music that's how I described my morning sickness. I said it was like my mouth felt sick but everything else was fine! The one time I was ill in the morning I just couldn't believe the amount of saliva my mouth created, I wasn't actually sick there was just pools of saliva running from my mouth like some horror film!! Ha, sorry waaaay tmi there ...

MrsG280516 · 19/12/2016 22:18

Haha Nicky I just did an IC tonight. Only one more left in my bathroom cupboard now then there'll be no poas action from me after that!

marmitecheesetoast · 19/12/2016 22:32

Haha Nicky! I still have all mine shoved in a random drawer as I'm not sure what to do with them now?! Seems a shame to chuck them but also weird to keep as some sort of souvenir right!? Hmm

marmitecheesetoast · 19/12/2016 22:34

Glad you got 16 week appt sorted Moose. They didn't listen to HB at my 16 weeks appt which I was disappointed with. Was
Basically just blood pressure and pee in a pot.

I didn't feel any movements til 18/19 weeks so don't worry! 16 weeks is early to feel movements when it's your first. I'm sure you'll feel something soon

kavanaughkj · 20/12/2016 00:10

Isn't it lovely seeing those BFPs come up nice and strong after so many BFNs though? Xmas Grin

I stopped taking tests when I peed on a stick and the result was so strong it pulled dye from the control line. That with my funky sense of smell and increasingly achy boobs has me convinced I'm pg.

Anybody else having stabby underarm pains or just me?

marmitecheesetoast · 20/12/2016 08:14

Probably all related to boob pain Kav!
I've got my second full on cold of this pregnancy Sad feel like it shouldn't be allowed to be ill when you're pregnant and can't take any drugs!! Envy

Nicky883 · 20/12/2016 08:44

Kava yes it is lovely seeing two lines after so long. But i am obsessed about them getting darker .I still have 2 digital clear blue ones 4w+4 today so hopefully i ll get a 3+ when i am 5 weeks
Mrg i think i have hundreds of IC i bulk ordered them when i started ttc last year ! Still cant believe am here ! I am trying not to let myself get excited just yet
Marmite Plenty of fluids and rest :)

Its been a very productive day(not workwise though) yesterday i have booked :
Flue jab this Thursday
First midwife booking appointment on 11/Jan
First private scan at 8w+2 on 14/Jan

Could the days go by any more slowly ?? I have so much work right now and all i do is google symptoms

MrsG280516 · 20/12/2016 09:52

Nausea seems to have kicked in properly today, I feel so awful. Managed to have some breakfast but now hoping it stays down!

Nicky883 · 20/12/2016 10:17

So reassuring to get nausea though mrg ! My boobs are not so sore today and i am freaking out ! Sad

WantingBaby1 · 20/12/2016 10:37

Same here nicky, I feel pretty symptomless which is making me worry!

Musicgrrl · 20/12/2016 10:56

mrs yay for what nausea represents! But booo for having to experience it. Hope it is on and off and not too full on, especially over Xmas and your NY trip. So that's come on around 7 weeks going by ov? Was it gradual or all of a sudden?

nicky I am with you and making myself paranoid with everything. If it's any comfort I think everyone does it. From my experience I get different things on different days! Some days literally no indication at all that I might be pregnant. Also, with the clear blue digitals I have read a lot about how the change to 3+ weeks really varies as to when it happens and for some women it happens quite a bit later than 5 weeks pregnant so don't be worried if that happens to you. I am not going to take mine until 6 weeks I think as don't want to give myself worries for no reason!

wanting only one day until your scan! So exciting but can understand that is a mix of excitement and worry! From my googling it seems that plenty of people don't get morning sickness or many symptoms at all, especially this early. I know it's easy to say though and I am exactly like you with my worries!

I have more to say but run out of time. Will be back!

MrsG280516 · 20/12/2016 11:08

Music yes I'm 6+4 today going by ov date. Its annoying me that all my apps say 6 weeks exactly, can't wait to get a more accurate date at my scan next Friday.

I've had the odd waves of nausea here and there for the past week or so but its not stuck around for long. Yesterday I just felt crappy all day and now today since about 8.30 I've just felt sick and it hasn't gone away.

Mooseville · 20/12/2016 14:18

Uuuurgh no one warned me how awful prune juice is!!! Xmas Shock

All I can say is it had better do the trick and help 'move things along' Pregnancy constipation is not fun!!!

OP posts:
marmitecheesetoast · 20/12/2016 15:17

Oh no Moose is there anything you can mix it with to make it taste more palatable?! I shouldn't say this and jinx myself but, so far, this is something I have thankfully managed to avoid - if anything I've been going more the other way recently! Maybe it's all the citrus fruit I'm consuming at an alarming rate Xmas Hmm

Thanks Nicky doing what I can. Did you know you can't even use olbas oil in pregnancy!? Baah. Just wish I wasn't at work all week!

Hope you're not feeling too bad MrsG. Sorry if you've been told this lots already but ginger things did help me with really bad nausea in the first trimester (ginger tea, ginger sweets, ginger biscuits) plus eating dry plain crackers like Carrs Water Biscuits. Also try the accupressure points - MW walking past showed me this at my booking in appointment when I was sitting in the waiting room clearly looking rather grey! - www.wikihow.com/Stop-Nausea-With-Acupressure

Nicky883 · 20/12/2016 15:24

Moose i love dried prunes :P am i weird? maybe you could try them instead of juice? I swear they are not that awful

MrsG280516 · 20/12/2016 16:53

Thanks Marmite if it gets any worse I'll be sending DH to the shop for anything ginger related. It seemed to go away after about 4 hours so still managed to eat my lunch.

LovelyFishy · 20/12/2016 16:56

Nicky I love dried prunes too! Glad it's not just me, no one else seems to share my love!

Moose good luck with getting things going!

Musicgrrl · 21/12/2016 08:08

wanting realise I got my days wrong. Spent most of yesterday thinking it was Wednesday. Pretty gutting! So one more day before scan for you?

I'm excited that between us we have a scan a week - wanting first, then Mrs, then me, then Nicky. Anyone else?

moose hope the prune juice works! I don't think I've ever actually tasted a prune so don't know whether I like them! Also, love the saliva story and it's good to know that my random throat nausea is a thing! It's only a small inconvenience so if it stays like that I'll consider myself lucky.

marmite sorry you're in full blown cold, such an annoying time of year to get one. Think I'm fighting a small one off at the moment. Hope are resting up or can at least rest up soon! Isn't it funny that we spend the first 3 months or longer hiding our pregnancies but once you get to 24 weeks you could already give birth 'viably'! Glad her baby is okay although does sound like a long journey ahead.

kav no stabby underarm pains here. That sounds unpleasant! Has it gone away now?
