Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 48th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 47th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 61st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread <a class="break-all" href="//onwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2588689-we-re-still-teething-trying-to-wean-and-our-babies-just-won-t-go-to-sleep-when-we-re-trying-to-js-for-another-one-it-s-just-mumming-no-11" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Oh Elbi how heartbreaking for you. Look after yourself and hopefully see you back here very soon.

Sounds like all is going well TriJo.

I had my booking in appointment this morning. All good and now waiting for scan date.

Elbi · 17/08/2017 15:38

Thanks both and ta for mentioning that thread Nova - finding it really useful. Right, signing out.

justtheonethen · 17/08/2017 16:36

Oh elbi I'm so sorry Flowers

SofiePendragon · 17/08/2017 19:19

Sorry Elbi

Good news Tri must have been nice to hear the heartbeat.

The appointment/MatB1 form timing is really annoying. I got mine from my GP last time although last time my HR department told me that the deadline is for informing them that i intend to take maternity leave, not for getting the form in (so an email was sufficient to mean I was entitled to it).

TriJo · 17/08/2017 22:16

DH's company has a bunch of salty middle aged Irish battleaxes in both payroll and HR who seem to exist to be as unhelpful as possible. They also have a crap attitude towards paternity leave.

NovaArt3mis · 18/08/2017 08:15

DH still hasn't told his work! Think he'll say after the 20 week scan but I have a feeling they're going to be pretty unhelpful too.

People who've done this before (and other's opinions) - if he can should he take 2 weeks paternity plus annual leave on top. Or go back to work and then book time off for a few weeks later?

justtheonethen · 18/08/2017 08:51

Yes I want to know that too nova. DH has told work but only because they knew about the ivf.

SofiePendragon · 18/08/2017 09:19

We're really lucky as my DH's work are very supportive and his immediate boss thinks that paternity leave allowance isn't nearly long enough! Last time DH was off for the full week after DD arrived (she was born on a Thursday so it worked out at about 10 days off in total) and then had Tuesday and Thursday off every week for around 6 weeks after that which took us almost up to Christmas (October baby). We both found it worked for us, as DH could keep up with work (he tried keep his diary as free as possible as well and not take on extra projects) but also if we had a bad night a day off was never more than one day away so it felt more manageable. Similarly, if I was struggling at home on my own, I knew he'd be with me the following day.

I'm hoping he'll be able to do something similar this time but I'm sure with a toddler in the mix there'll be different challenges this time round!

TriJo · 18/08/2017 09:33

Nova My DS was born on Easter Monday 2016 so my DH took the first week as annual leave so as not to lose the benefit of the bank holiday and then took the 2 weeks of paternity leave. Worked for us at the time, he then went back on an overtime Saturday while my parents were over visiting to make the transition back to work less stressful.

NovaArt3mis · 18/08/2017 09:43

Your DS's birthday is the day after mine tri, my birthday was Easter Sunday last year!

FuzzyOwl · 18/08/2017 12:25

My DH took paternity leave and then annual leave straight after last time and it worked really well for us. I know some people think you need the help when the baby is that bit older but I really like cocooning yourself as a family and having as much time together as possible in the early days.

FuzzyOwl · 18/08/2017 12:25

Also if you end up with a c section and can't drive or lift anything heavy for a few weeks, it will be great to have your DH around for longer than a fortnight.

CountryGal4 · 18/08/2017 12:44

Dh only took the two weeks as it was an awful time of year for him to be off anyway. If you have c section get him to take a couple more weeks. Not driving for six weeks will make you go MAD! Also dh wishes he'd taken more time

justtheonethen · 18/08/2017 15:20

These are the bollocks. That is all.

pretzelpieces · 18/08/2017 17:57

Oh elbi I'm so sorry. :( Sad news.

tri Glad all is well with you.

My DP is a teacher so I'll count us lucky if we get the two weeks! He could only take a week last time because he hadn't worked there long. Praying I avoid a c section again for this reason.

justtheonethen · 18/08/2017 18:43

I am/was a teacher too. They are shit for paternity. I won't even get any mat pay as I'm technically unemployed. I'm starting a new freelance job in two weeks and I'm bricking it Shock. I'll get the mat allowance though as my qualifying period will include 14 weeks of my last job so only 12 more to prove!

SofiePendragon · 18/08/2017 19:01

The six week no driving thing after a section isn't a hard and fast rule. You need to be able to do an emergency stop. It could take 4 weeks, it could take 8, so if you feel ready you can just speak to your GP and get the ok.

NovaArt3mis · 18/08/2017 19:52

I hadn't thought about the lack of driving if I need a section. The thought of leaving the house with the baby terrifies me anyway haha! Thanks for the input.

I ordered a huge pregnancy pillow yday and it just turned up. I hope it helps, so fed up of bad sleeps.

Two weeks today til our 20 week scan Shock

FuzzyOwl · 18/08/2017 22:24

My insurance company says you are fine to drive after a c section as long as it isn't against doctor's advice. I think I waited five weeks the first time but took longer to recover the second time.

I'm very lightly spotting. Really hoping it isn't anything as I saw a strong heartbeat last week. Gx for me.

justtheonethen · 18/08/2017 22:41

Gingers and everything else tightly crossed fuzzy.

NovaArt3mis · 19/08/2017 10:54

Hopefully it's nothing fuzzy, you hear about so many people spotting throughout a healthy pregnancy. Not that that makes it any less worrying I'm sure. Call EPU if you need reassurance Flowers

FuzzyOwl · 19/08/2017 13:30

It has stopped but now I have cramps. In fairness, it could easily be digestive pains or ligament ones but I am worrying regardless. Am under the recurrent miscarriage clinic, so fairly certain the EPU would scan me if I called but unless anything changes I think I will just wait for my next scan with the consultant. I absolutely hate the anxiety pregnant brings!

justtheonethen · 19/08/2017 17:52

to fuzzy.

My pillow arrived and it's MASSIVE. I love it so much already. Anticipating a much better nights sleep tonight.

NovaArt3mis · 19/08/2017 18:00

Enjoy just! I still woke up a lot last night but got back to sleep much quicker. Takes up half of our superking size bed tho!Blush

justtheonethen · 19/08/2017 18:10

I'm not sharing with DH at the moment anyway Blush. Makes me feel sick 😷

How are you zyla?
