Babydreaming my apt is monday too. As for weight gain I'm still near in 11stone (which was my pre pregnancy weight) I always measure small as well, if that gives you any reassurance Smile

KitKat1985 · 09/09/2016 19:45

Hi. Just a quick one. Are you ladies planning on getting the flu jab? I have to admit that I've never bothered before getting it before (I get offered it every year as a frontline healthcare worker, rather than because of any health issue on my part). I didn't get round to it last pregnancy either. I know loads of people who feel really rough after the jab which is putting me off, but I know the risk of complications from flu in pregnancy are much higher than normally, so wondering if I really should?

KitKat1985 · 09/09/2016 19:45

Oh, and I've put on 2 stone. Sad

Bigfam · 09/09/2016 20:00

Kitkat I didn't have it in my last pregnancy, thought I'd be fine. When I caught it I was so ill, I can still remember now how awful I felt. I'm having it done on the 20th, along with whooping vaccine.

Nojo82 · 09/09/2016 21:12

Been admitted to hospital. My heart rate is really high so I'm being monitored. Baby is fine thank God. Also having chest pain and tightness.. have to have a chest x-ray it's being treated as a blood clot.. been here since 4.30, had nothing to eat and I'm shattered. Only just got a bed..

SolomanDaisy · 09/09/2016 21:20

Oh no Nojo, I hope you're feeling better soon. Are you in a maternity ward or a general ward?

Grapefruit8 · 09/09/2016 21:22

Oh nojo poor you. Hope you manage to get some rest, you're in the best place Flowers

Lovewatchingrainfall · 09/09/2016 21:32

Oh nojo that's awful. Hope they are looking after you, are you on a normal ward or a maternity ward? Hope you manage to get some sleep.

SouthDownsSunshine · 09/09/2016 22:19

That sounds scary nojo, I hope you and baby are ok. Let us know how you get on.

kitkat definitely having the flu jab, and dh and dd will as well. We all had flu in Jan and it was awful, we had to get help to cope. Plus with baby having heart problems we're getting all the vaccines we can!

I've put on about 6kg, which I think is close to a stone? My appetite has been huge this week so I'm going to have to watch what I eat a bit more.

SouthDownsSunshine · 09/09/2016 22:19

(That's 3kg in as many weeks!)

TipBoov · 09/09/2016 23:21

Thinking of you Nojo.

I've gained 6kg since booking appt, which is just over a stone.

Had a day full of needles today! Had to have anti-d due to a knock to my bump, then had 2 vials of blood as part of the standard 28week bloods. Midwife then realised she was meant to take 4, so I had to have another needle Sad,

Also collected my blood monitor and after a few issues actually getting any blood out, I think I've cracked how to use it! Interesting to see what food I can tolerate.

Thisisbonkers · 10/09/2016 00:16

I hope you're ok nojo

I'll definitely be having the flu jab. I've had it previously and felt fine, can't imagine it being different in pregnancy? My whooping cough jab was fine today too, but now I've lay in bed it feels a bit bruisey as I'm lay on that arm/side.

Bigfam · 10/09/2016 06:31

Hope you managed to get some rest nojo and that you're all sorted soon.

barkingtreefrog · 10/09/2016 06:41

babydreaming I've gone from 52kg at booking in to around 57kg now.

Nojo hope you managed to get some sleep and some food, let us know how you're doing Flowers

Fed up of waking at 4am every morning....

Azure83 · 10/09/2016 08:54

Yes to all vaccines. I'm having the whooping cough one on Monday and I'll ask about the flu jab. I've had it last year and felt absolutely fine.. Good idea for dh to have one as well south!

babydreaming I'm up by 5-6kg so just under a stone, about half of it in the last three weeks though (which did include a very indulgent holiday in France..:)

nojo hope you're getting lots of rest and they work out what's giving you all these symptoms very soon!

KitKat1985 · 10/09/2016 09:09

Nojo sorry you're so poorly. Hope you managed to get some sleep last night. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your replies re: flu jab. You've made my mind up to get it done. I have to get all my jabs done at my GP surgery (rather than the midwife so them) so I'll give them a call next week. Annoyingly I only went in there about a week ago to get my whopping cough one done, but they've only just released their flu vaccine clinic dates, or else I'd have tried to get it done at the same time.

SolomanDaisy · 10/09/2016 09:46

I'm jealous of all your flu vaccines, as I'm not allowed to have it done here! DH will be having it though and I'll get it after the baby's born. The only reaction I've ever had was a sore arm.

Babydreaming · 10/09/2016 11:02

I'm definitely getting the flu jab! I've asked my husband to get it too. Does anyone know how early we can get it? I'd prefer to get it over with earlier than later as things get more stressful and uncomfortable!

I've also put on about a stone...gone from 7 stone to 8. I was told at the beginning of pregnancy that I needed to put on more than average due to low BMI and I managed almost half a stone in the 1st trimester! Unfortunately it's now slowed and I don't seem to be gaining anymore! I made the cheesiest lasagna last night, going for pub lunch and 3 course dinner today and drinking gallons of milk so hoping it stays on! I've always had problems trying to gain weight though...just really don't want it to affect my baby! I have a very active lifestyle and work a lot so I think that's why I struggle, also trying to cut down on that!

Bigfam · 10/09/2016 11:29

Babydreaming I was like that once (couldn't gain weight) now (nearly) five children later I hate it. At one point I weighed between 7-8stone and now weigh 11 Sad ah well, my children are well worth it Grin
Enjoy your 3 course dinner, sounds lovely.

Hope you're ok nojo

SolomanDaisy · 10/09/2016 11:53

Amazon have the medela swing down to £79 as deal of the day today. If you haven't used BABYGC16 yet then you can get it for £65, which is a really good deal! I had it on a camelcamelcamel price watch for £95!

Nojo82 · 10/09/2016 11:58

Thanks everyone. I'm still here. Waiting on the doctor to do his round. Feeling a good bit better apart from being exhausted. Hopefully get home..

goinggrey1978 · 10/09/2016 11:59

Hi everyone, had a fantastic week back at work, got my 1:1 to announce to the class that I'm having a baby, due date and nickname, he also showed them all bubbles scan picture too, the classes reaction was to all gasp and turn round to look at me, I had lots of congratulations and one turned and said miss your going to be a mummy!! I don't know how I didn't cry!! Children are the best!!
We also had after school training this week as well and bubble spent the first half an hour going crazy in there, I was memorized just watching all the movements through my clothes, hands, feet and I'm sure elbows too!!

lots of questions!!
The midwife tried to convince me to go to birthing classes on a Sunday at my local hospital where I see the midwife, it's all day though and I'm really not sure about messing up my whole weekend routine, yes I know I'm very ocd atm, especially now I'm back at work, do I need to go or can I just read about it all online??
Then there's feeding classes on a Thursday afternoon as well, do I need to go to those??
Last question who has been on a hospital tour?? Is it worth it??

doubletrouble41 · 10/09/2016 12:05

Hi all, I saw there were two or three other twin mums on the list, wondered if any of you had had your growth scans and a big difference between your two twins? I'm expecting non id girls and ones growth has slowed andis petite and the other is soaring great chubber! To everyone; anyone else suddenly feel now its september that everything feels just round the corner.... and panicking .... not ready!!!

Bigfam · 10/09/2016 12:25

goinggrey1978 lovely to hear going back to work went down so well, bless your class! If you're bf'ing I'd defintiely go to those classes, but I never attended birthing classes or toured the hospital. I didn't really feel the need to.
I can't believe it's already september either, this pregnancy feels like it's flying compared to my others! All my other children were due after christmas and January, so this time round everything feels like it's happening earlier (if that makes sense, probably doesn't!) I'm sure another twin mum will be along soon to give you some advice.

Glad you're feeling better nojo hopefully you're all better and discharged soon.
