Thanks for that Solomon, ordered :)

Bigfam · 10/09/2016 20:44

Got my perfect prep machine today, it's bright red and I'm slightly excited about using it Grin can't believe I got it for £45!!
I also may have had a bit of a tantrum try to fix the buggy board onto the pram, but got there in the end.
Are you home now nojo?

Lovewatchingrainfall · 10/09/2016 20:47

For the second time this week baby has been very quiet. It tends to kick away in the evenings, but once again it's been quiet should I mention this on Wednesday when I see the midwife. Or do they just go through quiet periods?

Is there a list of things I need to have? I feel like I have so little. So far I have
Cot
Pram
Car seat
A few clothes
A blanket.
A coat

I really can't think what I need and I know if I go into a store I will buy loads. Was not like this with my first.

Bigfam · 10/09/2016 20:53

Are you bf'ing Lovewatchingrainfall?
Could you try drinking something cold/sugary and see if that gets baby moving & if not maybe check your notes and let someone know? If you're used to a routine and baby isn't moving as much I think you should contact them.

SouthDownsSunshine · 10/09/2016 21:03

My baby has quiet days and very active days, but I've been reassured by everything being ok at the growth scan. Definitely talk to your midwife if it's not normal for you.

Anyone else craving ice cubes? I've eaten so many today!

Lovewatchingrainfall · 10/09/2016 21:03

Thank you BigFam. I'm used to baby moving in the evening normally really active about half 7-9ish.

Not sure if I will be bf'ing or formula feeding yet.

becciandbump · 10/09/2016 22:01

It's been a worrying week movements reduced since Tuesday been down twice they said too early for monitor but hb was ok. Keep worrying she's tangled in the cord or something. Even when she does kick they are smaller not like the ones where my tummy was actually jumping. Hope she livens up tomorrow im missing feeling her

StubbleTurnips · 10/09/2016 22:27

Always ring maternity triage for any changes, it's only a quick call / visit in for monitoring if you need it. I think Turnip2 has moved position as the kicks are in a different place now, they're moving around a lot now.

Bigfam · 10/09/2016 22:28

Lovewatchingrainfall give your mw a call tomorrow, in the meantime I hope baby starts moving.
How far along are you becci? If you're not feeling reasurred you should let them know, hopefully they will listen to you.

southdown I wasn't... until you said that Grin now I really fancy crunching one all up! I've been craving prawn crackers for days now, forgot to order some in my shopping and the local one doesn't have any Sad

becciandbump · 10/09/2016 22:35

Im 26+2 big fam I'll ring again tomorrow if im still not sure but today she just said hb was fine too early for the monitor on Monday and last week she was squirming and kicking every 2 hours I just feel that the odd kick doesn't seem enough. On holiday I counted 14 kicks in 10 min once I think ive only felt about 10 all day today just having a bath to try relax

Popskipiekin · 11/09/2016 08:50

Becci I'm right where you are. Bump has such gentle movements and goes for so long between them. I'm sitting here prodding, poking, shining my phone light on the bump and putting loud thumping music against it! I have been rewarded with the teeniest tiniest flicker. He can be very active, but generally is just quite still and it's so disquieting. Definitely going to call on Monday. I do get movement from time to time but I hate it being so gentle (ironically I'd probably be annoyed if it was really intrusive!). Hope we both get reassurance soon.

BristolLFR · 11/09/2016 10:32

lovewatching you may already have most of the bits if you already have a little one...

Things I can think of:
Swaddles
Changing mat
Changing bag
Bouncer/ swing
Cot bedding
Monitor
Room thermometer?

*i haven't got half of this stuff yet!

becciandbump · 11/09/2016 10:34

popskipikin she has just rewarded me with half hour of kicks this am which is back to her usual pattern. Someone on the fb page suggested visiting the 'kicks count' website for info ive just ordered a wristband kick counter for £5 x

BristolLFR · 11/09/2016 10:36

becci I'd give your midwife a call just to be sure. This website has loads of info on what to look out for

www.kickscount.org.uk/mums/your-babys-movements/

They specifically say not to prompt baby with a cold drink etc as it could give false reassurance. The baby may kick as a reaction, but it's normal movements are still reduced.

They also say not to expect a certain number of kicks. Each baby is different and you need to get used to your babies own pattern and base it off that.

It does say that they want to hear if there is anything unusual and you are absolutely not wasting your midwifes time if you are worried X

BristolLFR · 11/09/2016 10:38

Has anyone watched the Motherland pilot on BBC? It's got the woman that does Philomeana Cunk in it and it's bloody hilarious!

Based on school age mums, but can still see it being my life soon!

Grapefruit8 · 11/09/2016 12:24

Hi all! Is it just me or is anyone else thinking "have I seriously got to do this pregnancy thing for another 3 months?!" feel shattered and huge already Confused

Bigfam · 11/09/2016 12:53

I'm swinging the other way Grapefruit8 I can't believe there's only three months for me to prepare for 4 birthdays, a birth & christmas! Then 2 more birthdays in january. From friday I'm going to be buying christmas presents at 1 a week each and wrapping them as they arrive, I hate wrapping presents anyway but trying to do it whilst 8 months pregnant is my idea of hell.

StubbleTurnips · 11/09/2016 14:48

I'm with grape I can not do this for another 3 months. Im awful pregnant this time round, can't motivate myself at all.

Have my GTT in the morning too at 8.30, so will have to battle the rush hour in Manchester for it. That's making me bristle already.

bumbleclat · 11/09/2016 15:03

Im hoping that the because Ill be giving birth around xmas, I can 'call in sick' for xmas duties this year!
I need tot keep as much money back as possible for my ML and don't want to be spending it all on xmas nonsense.

Thisisbonkers · 11/09/2016 16:14

I swing between "ugh, 3 more months of this" and "holy f*ck, only 3 months to go, argh!"

I'm exhausted today. Slept terribly last night but elected to stay home and do some gardening rather than go see my MiL and be grabbed at constantly. I should have really told DP why I didn't want to go (ie, I'll say something I shouldn't, and not regret it!) but couldn't be arsed. Still, half the back garden looks vaguely respectable and both lawns are mown.

Currently getting gooey over my floofball cat who is snoring on the sofa!

Bigfam · 11/09/2016 16:37

Thisisbonkers my garden and my own lady lawn are a lost cause. Both completely overgrown and in need of some preening! Grin

kittyscot81 · 11/09/2016 17:11

Is anyone else suffering from bad lower back and pelvic pain? I seem to be stiffening up after the least amount of activity like walking or going to the supermarket. I just did a bit of housework this afternoon and I can barely walk now.

Thisisbonkers · 11/09/2016 17:55

bigfam what I can't see doesn't count Grin unfortunately, I can see the garden (only just, mind, windows are filthy!!).

Minispringroll · 11/09/2016 18:36

Grapefruit I've only told DH yesterday that I've had enough now. I'm not sleeping well. (I'm getting weird acid reflux in the middle of the night. I never get heartburn normally!) Being back at work isn't helping and I feel knackered. I've very much taken a step back with the beginning of this academic year. I usually work 70 hours a week. This weekend, I haven't even done any planning. Not done any marking, yet, either. (It really helps not being class based and proper teaching hasn't fully kicked in, yet. So far, I've covered only art lessons and taught Maths to what should have been "my" class. Grin)

I've managed to get a rocking chair from ebay, which we'll collect at some point. DH had seen one at Mothercare and really liked the idea. So,...we've got one now. I've got a lovely pillow and our wonderful blanket to drape over it. Should look great in the nursery,...which at the moment is stacked full of boxes. Hmm
