Oh my goodness me!!! Your DH!!!

Mine is so downtrodden by comparison!!

Bigfam · 25/09/2016 09:45

Fuck that love I'd be out of there for the day. Is there anywhere you can go to put your feet up and relax?

I still haven't got a changing bag yet, I'm just going to order one from amazon next week though.

DartmoorDoughnut · 25/09/2016 09:47

Fucking hell if my DH dared talk to me like that he'd find a bottle of bleach being thrown at his head! What a cheeky wanker

DartmoorDoughnut · 25/09/2016 09:47
Londonmamabychance · 25/09/2016 10:20

Oh my, My DH would never dream of talking to me like that, not if he wanted to make it through that day alive! Grin hope you answered back to him and didn't do the ordered cleaning jobs!

Re. Changing bags, you may find you don't need it at all once little ones are here! Think they're mainly for super organised people who actually manage to keep their items in all the designated pockets Wink

I had a skip hop messenger with DD and hardly ever used it, found just a simple fabric tote much more handy, and then I got the skip hop pronto changing station which I stuffed in there, it's small and handy and can fit into most bigger bags or just under he buggy and it's v handy that you can just take that one with you into the hanging room/loo rather than the whole big bulky changing bag.

Londonmamabychance · 25/09/2016 10:21

*chnaging room

Londonmamabychance · 25/09/2016 10:22

Btw, any second times mum's who've decided on a double buggy? They all seems so expensive! Shock

Londonmamabychance · 25/09/2016 10:24

Btw there are other smaller changing bags which are just a mat and a holder for nappies, if you look in Amazon, doesn't have to be he skip hop, and I believe others are cheaper

LunaWeaselton · 25/09/2016 10:42

Wow! Thanks BigFam! I've had my eye on the Next to me for a while .

SolomanDaisy · 25/09/2016 11:01

Oh my God love, that's not men not understanding that's your DH being an absolute arse. Sit yourself down and have a rest. Then leave DH to deal with your horrendous in laws.

We used a changing bag loads. We had a back pack one and it was handy to have a separate bag that was kept stocked up with changes of clothes, muslins etc. that either DH or I could just grab and go with. We even used it as hand luggage! The one we had doesn't seem to exist anymore, so I want to get a similar one.

Bigfam · 25/09/2016 12:01

LunaWeaselton That's ok Smile

DartmoorDoughnut · 25/09/2016 12:46

london I want the Out n About Nipper, a few friends have it, really easy to steer and the chairs recline individually. Will wait til boxing day sales though I think and keep my fingers crossed!

stripeyorangesocks71 · 25/09/2016 12:54

I'm glad I don't have a MIL like that.. long story but my other half's mum abandoned him when he was 2 and he was left with no explanation (still, after all these years despite asking) and left to be bought up with grandparents as his dad worked away a lot. He lost his dad many years ago now as well. So my peanut will only really know my parents as grandparents. Something that is quite sad when you think about it, but I'm sure my folks and other family members will provide all the love and support we need for our baby (my mum has taught herself to crochet and is on her 3rd blanket since finding out she is going to be a grandma!)

I've carried my notes around with me since I was given them at the dating scan... huge great bag to lug around everywhere but doesn't bother me so much. My other half bought me a really nice Harris Tweed handbag from Scotland whilst we were on holiday a few months back and I can't wait to use that!

Today i've washed more of baby's clothes, muslin wraps/cloths and grobags, it's all quite exciting! Grin

SouthDownsSunshine · 25/09/2016 13:35

Blooming heck love! I'd be passing MIL a bottle of bleach on arrival and going to bed for a nap. I can't believe the cheek of it.

Grapefruit8 · 25/09/2016 14:56

So glad my MIL isn't like that! Don't know how you cope, I wouldn't be able to hold my tongue. Just wondering, can't remember if we've already covered it on a previous thread but does anyone have a really good hospital bag check list? I'm struggling and feel like I have bits and pieces all over the show! And please can someone let me know how to find and join the facebook group?

SouthDownsSunshine · 25/09/2016 16:32

Can we talk tiredness?

I am ridiculously tired. Painfully, can barely keep my eyes open tired. I slept reasonably well last night, and got a lie in (thanks DH!) until 7.45. I've had a 15 minute lie down after lunch. Not been terribly active (up, church, supermarket, lunch, lie down, garden, tidy) so I don't know why I'm so tired. I've eaten reasonably well (although not enough breakfast) and usually being outside perks me up but today it was an effort. I felt the same yesterday.

I can't remember being this tired last time. I had my iron levels checked a few weeks ago and I didn't hear anything back so I assume they're fine.

I've been super super thirsty, but then I didn't hear back after the lucozade test so I assume it's not GD.

Mozfan1 · 25/09/2016 16:39

London I've got a bugaboo donkey Smile

Hi all,

South I am massively struggling with tiredness. On Tuesday I thought I couldn't sorry on working for the rest of the week but gave myself a pep talk. Having to think of getting through one day at a time at the moment. Seriously reconsidering my original plan of working full time until 37 weeks.

Things getting a bit more real in our house, ordered the pushchair (I went for the egg) and the cot has arrived. I seriously need To go through everything that we have got as I seem to just keep buying every time I'm out. My trolley at the Aldi event was over flowing!

Which appointment do you have the gd test at? I have a maid wife appointment on Tuesday....would I have been told before hand that this test would happen?

Got another scan a week on Wednesday to check if the placenta has moved )it was fully covering the exit at 20 weeks). Glad I have another scan as it seems ages since the last one.

Also started with Braxton hicks which aren't painful but uncomfortable. Xx

Minispringroll · 25/09/2016 16:58

Love You are kidding, aren't you? I'd have told my MIL to do one (or she could come and clean herself, if it's presenting as such an issue...she wouldn't, though, my MIL is lovely)...and DH wouldn't dare to utter those words. He tends to clean the bathroom and kitchen and puts on the first load of washing on a Sunday morning, while I'm in bed playing on the iPad. He's far more tidy than I am. Blush

Bigfam I got my Pacapod bag this week and think I'll be using it to put all the baby stuff in for hospital, so it's easier for DH to find. It seems quite spacious and I've managed to fit quite a lot of stuff in so far (have taken the feeding pod out, don't think we'll need that at the hospital).

Londonmamabychance · 25/09/2016 17:05

Solomon, you must be one of those organised people I talked about Wink I just ended up stuffing everything in the main pocket of the changing bag and never use fall the other compartments! Blush buy can see changing bags being handy if you don't fancy rummaging around for stuff in a big tote, but that's what I'm like even with my own handbag Grin

South, Omg, I an sooo tired. And yet dugger from insomnia. Last night I went to bed at 10 but didn't fall asleep till 1 then woke up at least tree times during the night and woke for real at 8. Sigh. Then I got up and did housework then took DD to our local city farm, and after three Boris there she still did not what to go for her nap but wanted to go to the playground. So I called DH and aides if he could come and take over as I was massively exhausted. But he said no as he wanted to finish watching a show and then wanted to cook dinner and also prep some food for the rest of the week. Which is fine except I really couldn't handle staying out any longer so it ended up me coming home 40 mins laters in years of exhaustion and DD crying like mad because she did not want to leave the playground. I then had a row with DH about him not understanding that I meant it when I said I needed help, and am currently sat on a bench in our local park in a strop. DD sleeping in her cot when I left.
Am I the only one feeling the strain of pregnancy on their relationship? It makes me so sad and worried for the future, I'm so afraid we'll argue more now there'll be two kids and loads more work.

Londonmamabychance · 25/09/2016 17:06

Arg sorry about the many typos!! Me at here hours not Boris, suffer not digger, asked and my aides, and tears not years

BowSurprise · 25/09/2016 17:07

Opinions please...the cot I was thinking of getting for our room doesn't fit a sleepyhead in. Would most of you recommend needing the sleepyhead in the cot?

Nojo82 · 25/09/2016 17:14

Yep im really tired too.. i really don't know how I coped when I was working full time. I feel so unprepared. Ive got loads for baby but nothing for me when in hospital. Well I did but all that got brought out when I was in a few weeks back..

Im really tempted to put the cot up. Its been sitting in our room since I bought it.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 25/09/2016 18:29

sorry about my rant So my day did not go as expected. MIL turns up early so DH had only been up half hour. However according to her i should have let him sleep as he had been at work all night. She then looks around and says to me that i should have cleaned before she turns up did i not get her list!!! I'm fuming at this point. I said well i have been up since 5 cleaning and her response was well it does not look like it. DH stays quiet. I am more annoyed at this point and storm out in the rain without my coat. Walked to the beach front, luckily only a short walk. While quietly crying to myself a lovely old lady brought me a cup of tea and just sat there talking to me about the weather and other bits. It took my H a whole 45 mins to notice i was not in the house!!!!
I went back and got my toddler and took her to do a bit of shopping for the afternoon.
He has not said anything since i have been back i don't think he dares. However i have noticed he has eaten my gingerbread man!!
