28 week check today although I'm 29 weeks tomorrow! All good but bambino is breech, not an issue per se due to ELCS but midwife said I'd need another scan if he was still breech at next appt 31 weeks as apparently could be due to a hip dysplasia condition! Doubt it think he's just comfy Grin

Bumplovin · 24/09/2016 13:00

going grey if you feel up to it just take your hospital notes with you and hospital bag. Ive decided im not going anywhere in last 6 weeks but that's just because I was born 5 1/2 weeks early so wondering baby will follow in my footsteps!

Bigfam · 24/09/2016 14:02

If anyone is still undecided on whether to get a co-sleeping cot, the chicco next2me is on offer for £120 which is a really decent price.
www.emmasdiary.co.uk/sale/Chicco/621
(That should work, it did when I searched for it)

Babydreaming · 24/09/2016 14:59

I had both flu and whooping cough in the same appointment, one in each arm! It was fine. The whooping cough one hurt a lot more for some reason and my arm was much more sore on that side! A few days later though and my arms have recovered. I think it's worth doing, I don't want to risk getting flu over winter and passing it to the baby whilst immune system is still developing!

Nojo82 · 24/09/2016 16:22

Ive only had whooping cough so far, the flu vac isn't available in my area yet so prob get it in the next few weeks.. god im shattered today..

SouthDownsSunshine · 24/09/2016 17:28

bigfam that's shocking! I would call first thing Monday, ask to talk to the supervisor of midwives, and request an immediate appointment. I'd be tempted to turn up at triage!

goinggrey I'd go for it! I made the trip to London at 37/38 weeks last pregnancy, staying overnight with friends. It was fine. As long as you take notes incase baby comes early.

I've been washing dd's old vests etc. She was tiny! I can't find many sleepsuits though, no idea where they've gone to, it might be that we need to buy more as we were lent a lot of clothes last time.

duxb · 24/09/2016 17:36

Hi all

Bigfam I hope they sort you soon - that seems bizarre that they haven't checked those things yet.

We've been to collect the pram & car seat today. Really hit home seeing an isofix base and empty car seat in the back of the car. Feel like pinching myself - she will be here before we know it! (31 weeks today).

Hope you all have lovely weekends x

goinggrey1978 · 24/09/2016 19:46

SouthDownsSunshine, thanks and yes i'm sure everything will be fine and i will take my hospital notes and hospital bag with me too!!

Bigfam, are we supposed to carry our hospital notes with us everywhere from a certain amount of weeks??

KitKat1985 · 24/09/2016 21:33

BigFam that's really poor of your midwife. I think you would be perfectly justified to speak to the supervisor of midwives on Monday.

I had my flu vaccine today and my arm is sore now. Sad

Duxb I had a similar 'oooh this is getting a bit close' realisation this morning when I realised I've only got about 2 months left until my due date, and only about 6 weeks until I'm considered 'full-term' at 37 weeks. I still feel really, really underprepared!

Azure83 · 24/09/2016 23:08

I was cleaning the maxi cosi we were given by our friends today. It will go back in the car and next time we need it, there will be a baby in it!!! Can't believe I've got ten weeks left and then we're in single digits and proper countdown begins!

A new pregnancy pain for me - dull pain in my ribs, on the right hand side towards the back. From what I've been reading it's fairly common, due to stretching/growing/pushing.. it's annoying though, feel like it's always there, yoga stretches don't seem to be helping. Any tips anyone?

barkingtreefrog · 25/09/2016 04:52

bigfam definitely contact the supervisor of midwives. Hope you get seen soon.

Goinggrey If you're feeling okay, go for it. You're with family who all sound very understanding and supportive so if you got tired I'm sure they could just deposit you back at the hotel for a nap?!

Azure I have no tips but if anyone does I'm all ears! I must have had a maximum of 1 hours sleep at a time tonight, just in so much pain from my back, ribs and pelvis I can't find a comfortable position Sad.
I had great visions of my early maternity leave being full of lovely dog walks but I'm currently in pain just walking from desk to the toilet when I'm at work Sad. It's the pelvic pain that's the worst, right at the front. I'm usually so active, it's going to be a very frustrating 7 weeks sat in the house in too much pain to go out!!! The consultant at my 28 week appointment said he's refer me to the physio but I have no idea how long that will take, that was over a week ago now. I went to see someone privately who specialises in pregnancy massage and she gave me a lot of stretches to do that should help the back pain, but there's not much she could do about the pelvic pain as that's simply the ligament being too stretchy due to the relaxin hormones (sp?)
Anyone who knows about SPD pain, am I now stuffed if it's already hurting or is there hope that I won't be house bound for the last two months?!?!

I forgot my maternity notes twice for appointments so now I leave them in the car!!!

Lovewatchingrainfall · 25/09/2016 05:21

For rib pain and hip pain, I was told swimming is the best thing. It helps to relax everything. For the rib pain your best to hold out a float and just kick your legs. Hope this helps.

I'm fed up with not sleeping now had an ill toddler now for over a week so with trying to look after toddler and tidy house while DH has been no help has really tired me out and then I get woken up by a text at midnight to say the In Laws are coming over today to see us and to make sure the house is tidy to their standards! Not what I wanted on our only family day this week.

bumbleclat · 25/09/2016 05:28

Your in laws sound like they need to reign it in love
I haven't slep much for weeks I suppose a sign of things to come but it makes me so irritable during the day. Just had some cereal and am not going to bother trying to go back to sleep now.

barkingtreefrog · 25/09/2016 05:41

love was that the in laws telling you to clean the house or your dh?! If that was me I'd be telling them to get stuffed!!

I'm already swimming at least 1.5 km a week, feels great while I'm in the water but doesn't seem to be helping when I get out!
I'm going to up the swimming to twice a week as it's the only exercise I'm getting at the moment.

OP posts:
Lovewatchingrainfall · 25/09/2016 07:40

It's the in laws. Well my mother in law, she has never worked a day in her life and has a cleaner. I have already heard from her this morning with a list of things that should already be tidy. I get the feeling it will be a long day. Does not help that DH is a mummy's boy so will expect it to be done too.

On a different note can't believe how long the due date list is and how quickly time is going. We are already more then halfway through another thread too.

SolomanDaisy · 25/09/2016 08:27

Barking, depending on the stroke you're using and where your SPD is, you could well be making it worse with swimming. An aqua natal class might be better as they'll be used to people with SPD. I wouldn't give up hope that it's just going to be getting worse though. Mine was very variable last time and actually improved towards the end when the head engaged, which is quite common. You need to work out what your triggers are and avoid them. It might not be walking, it might be sitting in certain positions, the way you get in and out of the car, carrying stuff. It's not true that there are no exercises you can do to help, I've got loads from the physio to do daily.

Has anyone else started snoring really badly?! I keep waking myself up with a massive snort!

I had a dream last night that I'd had the baby and was totally disorganised and couldn't find a nappy to change her.
DS had a dream that we bought her a seesaw!

Bigfam · 25/09/2016 08:41

Oh my god love the bloody cheek of it, I can't believe she's even telling you to tidy but to send a list.... And your dh should have your back! My mil can be annoying but at least dp is on my side. (Everytime she comes over, without fail, she will change the 20 month olds bum Hmm)
I'd just try to be polite and explain that actually, your poorly toddler is your top priority. X

Bigfam · 25/09/2016 08:43

Actually, stuff the polite part! Wink

firawla · 25/09/2016 08:47

Wtf at your inlaws love how rude is that!!! Unless she wanted to give you vouchers for a cleaning company to save you the effort in late pregnancy etc then i don't really think she should bring bringing up the topic!!!

With the pregnancy notes I've had mine in my handbag the whole pregnancy, midwife told me to do this at booking in, so I just followed that. Looking forward to going back to my nicer smaller handbag though!

Thisisbonkers · 25/09/2016 09:01

Oh love I'd be telling her to do one!

My notes live in my car, I'm not often far away from it.

30 weeks today. How did that happen?!

DartmoorDoughnut · 25/09/2016 09:14

Personally love I'd forward the email back to her with something like "I think you sent this to me in error, surely it's for your cleaner?!" Or in person the same with the MN tinkly laugh! Totally out of line Angry

OrianaBanana · 25/09/2016 09:24

Can't believe that love, the cheek of it! DH would be having to deal with that I'm afraid, both the tidying and the rudeness. Just couldn't be doing with it, especially if I had a poorly toddler. I can't even bend down because of the shooting pains up my hip/buttock! DS has been loading and unloading the dishwasher, he stacks things in random teetering piles in the wrong place but at least he's helping!

bumbleclat · 25/09/2016 09:26

love write them a list of jobs to do and hand it to them on entry.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 25/09/2016 09:36

Thank you all. Have been cleaning since 5, and now in pain with my back, I struggle to bend down as it is.
DH comes in from work at 8 and tells me to make sure I tidy the kitchen and not forget to bleach the kitchen and bathroom floor and then to wake him up half hour before his parents arrive! I am so pissed off right now!! Men they don't understand at all.

I carry my notes around with me, has anyone decided on a changing bag?
