Oh my word that was dull! On the plus side I bought a Firespiral ring sling whilst I was so bored! On the down side they had to stab me 6 times to get the second lot of bloods

StubbleTurnips · 15/09/2016 13:52

Least it's over Dart - go and eat something!

Bigfam · 15/09/2016 14:58

Thanks londonmama
Glad dt doesn't have to stay in hospital so soon after starting reception elodie

6 times Shock dartmoor I'd have told them where else they could stick that needle 😆

Londonmamabychance · 15/09/2016 15:20

Slightly silly question this, but nevertheless: Are any of you worried that they might have got the sex wrong? They said we're having a boy at the 20 week scan, and they say it's less likely to get it wrong when it's a boy, for obvs reasons, but now have this v silly fear they got it wrong and here I am getting rid of all DD's old clothes (our flat is tiny with no storage space so need to get rid of it to make space for the new baby) and planning to buy blue babygrows, imgaine if suddenly a girl showed up!

Nojo82 · 15/09/2016 16:55

london im scared they have the sex wrong.. everyone keeps saying your having a girl u sure its a boy lol.

I got a perfect prep. Im looking for an easy life with this babba, he has caused enough hassle this week..

So still in hospital, i had a VQ scan today.. lay down on the scanner and i nearly fainted. Had to get off and i was put on a trolley until i felt better. Oh it was horrible. But ive to back again tomorrow, havent a clue why.. bloody fed up. Bang goes the midwifery led birth..

Bigfam · 15/09/2016 17:00

Nojo82 bloody hell what a time you're having! Have they told you that you can't have a midwifery led birth? X

SolomanDaisy · 15/09/2016 17:04

I was wondering about that with the sex! I'm pretty confident because we got a scan pic which shows very clearly it's a girl, but you never know for sure do you?

What a nightmare nojo. Are they still thinking it's a clot? You must be completely fed up by now.

barkingtreefrog · 15/09/2016 17:31

Are they keeping you in again overnight nojo?
You must be so fed up now Flowers

OP posts:
Nojo82 · 15/09/2016 17:39

They havent ruled out a clot yet. I think ill b home for saturday. Yep pretty pissed off, even more so at the lack of communication in here..

KitKat1985 · 15/09/2016 19:38

Oh dear Nojo. Can you ask to speak to the consultant tomorrow?

Re: getting the sex wrong, I have worried a bit about this. I feel somewhat reassured though as I had essentially 2 sonographers doing my 20 week scan (actually one was a nearly-qualified sonographer who was in training - but very good; and the other one was supervising her) but they both seemed confident it was a girl, so I figure it's unlikely they both got it wrong!

After my expressed guilt this morning about hardly having done anything for this baby, I forced myself to spend several hours today washing all of DD's baby clothes and clearing out a wardrobe to put all the washed baby clothes in, so now she at least has her own wardrobe and set of clean clothes, which I figure is a good start!

DartmoorDoughnut · 15/09/2016 19:50

Oh nojo I really feel for you, you're having a hell of a time you poor love Sad

Re the being stabbed 6 times they were threatening to make me do the whole morning over again so I was determined to give them blood Grin they were hitting veins just not getting any blood, too silly!

SouthDownsSunshine · 15/09/2016 20:01

DD was flashing her bits at the sonographer so we're pretty sure she's a girl. Supported by the NIPT results.

nojo what a shitty time you're having. Your baby had better sleep through from 2 weeks to make up for this hassle!

Having a major indecision about what crib to go for. Going to post on fb group as I need someone else to decide for me!

Thisisbonkers · 15/09/2016 20:03

This is my first and I'm not organised! I just keep buying random stuff (like a high chair, today!) rather than concentrating on what is needed imminently. I figure we can't go far wrong when we have Amazon prime Grin

(This is until I start flapping that We Are Not Ready!)

Eskerina81 · 15/09/2016 21:04

Hope you get out soon nojo.

Sorry if this makes no sense to the first time mums, but I was watching the cbeebies prom today and it seemed pretty obvious that Gem from Swashbuckle is pregnant & probably due at around the same time as us all Smile

DartmoorDoughnut · 16/09/2016 07:46

My DH pointed that out to me Esk Grin

Lovewatchingrainfall · 16/09/2016 08:26

Esk I had not noticed however after going back to watch it I see it now, just goes to show how much attention I pay to these programs.

Thisisbonkers · 16/09/2016 08:57

Just bought some bits from Aldi 👍 A lot has sold out online already but will head out next Thursday lunchtime.

KitKat1985 · 16/09/2016 09:11

Esk wouldn't it be funny if Gem from Swashbuckle was a Mumsnetter and was amongst us? Smile P.S. Gem if you are here - where did the old Captain Sinker go? The new one isn't as good! Grin

Have reached 'pre-payday limited cash reserves' now, but after getting paid I'm going to go an buy all the odd bits I need to make up my hospital bag (maternity pads, breast pads etc).

OrianaBanana · 16/09/2016 10:57

I had a girl crush on Captain Sinker (the old one) I thought she was awesome.

SolomanDaisy · 16/09/2016 15:37

I wonder how long ago it was filmed? She might be a bit ahead of us.

I just ordered some stuff from Marks and Spencer with 20%. I really like their bodysuits and other basics.

StubbleTurnips · 16/09/2016 15:43

ive sorted the cupboard for Turnip2, I can not buy anything else for the first six months - I had much more than I thought, I'd done a Polarn O Pyret sale order and had stuffed the bag in a cupboard Blush

Need to stop ordering clothes and sort the bloody crib out!

Lovewatchingrainfall · 16/09/2016 16:59

Nojo how are you doing today? Are you home yet?

I really need to go clothes shopping but just don't have the energy too.

Hope everyone is okay.

Eskerina81 · 16/09/2016 17:30

KitKat I saw in another thread that Captain Sinker had a filming clash and will be back next series :)

Lovewatchingrainfall · 16/09/2016 18:01

From the information I could find CBeebies prom was in August. So she would be ahead of us, but only just. I can't find anything else about her being pregnant online tho.

SouthDownsSunshine · 16/09/2016 20:23

On her website it says that due to personal commitments Gemma can't do parties between November-Jan. So she must be due about the same time. I thought she did really well in the prom considering her bump. I'd struggle to be that active!
