I don't really know her well enough seashell, although offering to babysit had crossed my mind. Her mum appears to be round quite a bit so I think she has plenty of help.

Bigfam · 04/08/2016 23:21

TipBoov & any one else looking at the chicco next2me, they're bigger than a crib. 18month old can lay flat in it with a couple of inches space, it also tilts if baby has reflux. I bought one second hand then a new mattress from amazon for £30.

Welcome to seashell 😊

bumbleclat · 05/08/2016 05:41

I'm getting the chicco, they're not to expensive on eBay and I love the way they're travel cots too. It just means driving to some random part of the U.K. One day soon to collect it, there are plenty on eBay though.

I was woken up this morning after a horrid anxiety dream about my imminent 20 wk scan whereby Karen Brady was a midwife who was to tell me about the scan, she gave me and another lady some broken equipment to see/ hear our babies through and wouldn't hear that they weren't working, she was really infuriating!! Smile
Ive just woken up in a rage!
Scans at 8am so looking forward/ nervous about it!

Bigfam · 05/08/2016 06:53

Good luck with your scan bumble, nice and early so you don't have to wait all day 😊

weechops · 05/08/2016 07:08

Good luck with your scan this morning bumble

IslandLife · 05/08/2016 07:24

Seashell - it's so hard not to worry, and I am a born worrier. This is my first baby, everything is so new! The sonographer told me there was a 90% chance the placenta would move and then the midwife said its more around 60%. I live on the Isle Of Man, so yes, quite a small island, not very glam, but very lovely Smile

Mejse · 05/08/2016 08:11

Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I posted but I have been trying to keep up with the thread.
I had my 20 week scan yesterday and was told we have a big healthy boy. She checked his brain, spine and heart and said everything was as it should be, as well as his little face, however when she went on to checking his legs she found that his right foot is slightly turned in. After printing us out some pictures we were left in the room for about 20 mins before she came back with an appointment for another scan on Wednesday with a doctor. It was all quite confusing because she kept emphasizing that everything else was good and he is healthy but then she said that the doctor might want me to have an amnio.
I really don't know how to feel at the moment, I keep trying to tell myself that it could be much worse but my anxiety is really starting to kick in. I can't understand why they would want me to have an amnio if he is healthy and they can't see any other problems.

On a more positive note DH felt baby move properly for the first time last night. I have been feeling movement since 16 weeks and DH has really wanted to be involved.

SouthDownsSunshine · 05/08/2016 08:37

Sorry you gave that concern mejse. Did they tell you what they'd be looking for with the amnio?

SeashellHoarder · 05/08/2016 08:58

Thanks bigfam.
Mejse, that's really worrying, not long to wait till Wednesday I hope it's nothing serious.

Island, the IoM sounds lovely I hope you're having a great summer there!

I've been up most of the night with stabbing pains, which were normal in my last 2 pregnancies, but really worried now due to the placenta.

Mejse · 05/08/2016 09:28

South she said that on its own the foot doesn't mean anything but if they find any other indicators when they do the more detailed scan they will what to check. Its all a bit difficult because we were speaking a mixture of english and danish and she didn't know some of the names for things in english and I don't know them in danish. She kept telling me though that the foot didn't indicate anything and that he is big and healthy.

I have had a look online and it looks like he has a clubfoot/talipes. If they don't find any other indicators worst case will be that he will need to wear casts for a few weeks, then boots and bar 23 hours a day for 3 months and at night up to 4 years. Best case he will be like my nephew and just have positional talipes which can be sorted with some exercises.

How is everything going with you south? I saw you have had some really difficult news, I have been really impressed by how strong you have been.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 05/08/2016 09:43

Thought I would share my baby bump I'm currently 21w I feel like I am going to be huge.

Bristol how about a mixture of things for the Dc and a roast chicken sounds amazing.

My DD keeps telling people she has a pretend baby in her tummy and she feels it kick. Oh the joys of being a toddler.

Did far to much yesterday and was up all night being ill I really do need to start slowing down. But promised toddler a day at the zoo tomorrow. Will be shattered I think

Thank you for this Kitkat.. For next time, I found out today I'm team pink sooo exciting Grin

KitKat1985 · 05/08/2016 12:42

Hi all,

SouthDowns sorry to hear you've had some more bad news. Are you getting plenty of support from family and friends? Have the hospital been good?

Getting lots of kicks now. Was exciting for a couple of weeks until I remembered how annoying it is having to go for the umpteenth pee of the night again. This is probably contributing to my tiredness kicking back in again. Work has been pretty stressful as well recently which hasn't helped.

Got all of DD's baby stuff out of the loft a few days ago. A lot of it is a bit grubby looking and needs a good clean. I feel a bit sorry for baby girl as her big sister had lots of lovely new things as a baby and she's only got a load of second hand stuff. I keep telling myself she won't mind though, and they only really need a lot of the baby stuff for a few months so it would be madness to buy lots of new stuff when we have pretty much everything already. I also feel a tad sorry for me as it's far less exciting having to clean up a lot of stuff from last time than getting to go shopping and buy it all new like you get to do with a first baby!

KitKat1985 · 05/08/2016 12:44

Congratulations Bumbleclat! Grin

DartmoorDoughnut · 05/08/2016 13:33

Thanks for the list KitKat my EDD is now 5/12 due to ELCS and we're team blue Flowers

OP posts:
ElodieS · 05/08/2016 13:46

Thanks kitkat! And I know what you mean about the hand-me-downs! This LO is going to be wearing his or her big sisters' stuff for a good while to come. Sad

Congratulations on joining team pink bumble!

Steffimuse, how are you doing? I just noticed that you're having one of each - congratulations! I remember feeling pretty far along at this point with DTs, despite only just being over half way, hope you're feeling ok!

Lovely bump rainfall, have a great time at the zoo!

Is anyone thinking of going to Baby Fest in London? www.mumsnet.com/events/babyfest?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Babyfest%20solus%202&utm_content=Babyfest%20solus%202+Version+B+CID_86f238dbe9ec9d5b95cfba13733fdd89&utm_source=newsletters&utm_term=Babyfest

Insertwitticismhere · 05/08/2016 13:49

Just marking place - couple of busy days at work and I find you all already on p4 of a new thread Smile

TipBoov · 05/08/2016 14:25

Managed to get a few baby bits today, some little bootees and some grobags in the John Lewis sale - two for £20 which is a bargain!

I got rid of most things from when DS was a baby, so I need to buy a lot, except for travel cot, pushchair and bouncer. I had a fab baby bjorn bouncer that if definitely recommend.

NotAClue82 · 05/08/2016 14:55

Just marking my place on the new thread!

Thanks for the updated list KitKat!
All going well I will have a section at the start of November (between 34 and 36 weeks), but I hope it's still okay for me to hang out on this threadSmile

SeashellHoarder · 05/08/2016 15:32

Thanks for including me KitKat. I'm team pink. Edd meant to be 22/12 but I don't know when they'll schedule the section.
Rainfall, that's a really great bump!
Has anyone else noticed that the bump grows a lot during the day? I start of looking 20 weeks, but by bedtime I'm more like 35! (Not sure if this is actually due to all the bread I'm eating)

Bigfam · 05/08/2016 16:05

I wish of kept some of dd3's stuff, she's only 18months by I sold the majority of it! I was just thinking, when all of our babies arrive and we start the postnatal thread (I appreciate we'll be super busy and tired with newborns) but I'd love to keep in touch and see how everyone's baby grow into little people. The thread from January 2015 has completely died, around when our babies were turning one. Makes me a bit sad 😢 would love to keep in touch with everyone here as long as possible, you're all a bit lovely 😁

That's a great bump rainfall, mines a bit naff, I was huge a few weeks back but I guess now it's nice a firm it was definitely chub before

(Please excuse dd3 she's a bit camera happy Grin )

TinyTickler · 05/08/2016 16:26

Kitkat just for the next list - I am user14961.... X

Stargirl84 · 05/08/2016 16:41

Thanks for the list kitkat - we are team pink for the next one! This poor child (DD2) will be getting a lot of hand me downs from her big sister! Knew we kept it all for a reason!

stripeyorangesocks71 · 05/08/2016 17:01

Thanks for the updated list KitKat!

Nice to see some bumps and read some scan stories! Our chicco next2me crib turned up today so exciting!! Gone for the denim one as found one on a deal. Was going to so for second hand and buy a new mattress but my better half suggested a new one as its my first pregnancy so that was lovely to hear Smile

Not sure what else I need to get now! There is bound to be loads more things! Found some reduced clothing in tesco yesterday all different sizes, ended up with some 3-6 month joggers (£1.50 each), some Disney Mickey Mouse bibs £1 down from £4 and some seaside themed socks 3 pairs for £1 down from £3. So I was pleased with that!

Have any of you found any good baby bargains recently?
