I haven't moved into maternity stuff yet really, but have pretty much stopped wearing trousers or skirts with normal waistbands and am living in dresses, which works ok for summer I think...

Rainfall, I think a little break will be lovely when the baby is around 3 months, and sounds great for your DD too.

Rosie, I've put on 4kg so far, which I think is almost a stone. I think it's mostly boob and belly so far, but I doubt that will last long!

TinyTickler · 03/08/2016 16:53

I am 19 + 3 and have gained either 1 or 2 lbs depending on when I weigh myself. This is the only time I've ever worried about lack of weight gain Confused no one seems able to commit to what is / isn't normal, but I have a definite bump and baby is wriggling away so presuming all is ok.

20 week scan tomorrow so everything crossed all is ok.

StubbleTurnips · 03/08/2016 17:03

Well after my monumental weight gain of over a stone by 11w, I haven't put a jot on since.

Can't decide between a next2me or a babybay cosleeper. We have long children in our families and this one appears no different, can't fathom which one will lay longer as both have good resale values too.

Nojo82 · 03/08/2016 17:12

I think I've put on loads of weight too. Can't stop eating junk.. oops!!
Can't wait for my scan nxt week. I'm in Northern Ireland and they weren't allowed to tell you the sex when I had the boys. That's all changed in the past few years so I'm excited to know what we're having..

Firsttimer16 · 03/08/2016 17:38

Thanks for all the advice everyone - seems like nipple cream, Muslins and nappies are the only necessities! Hoping to borrow/buy most things from friends/charity shops to keep costs down.

I've put on over a stone so far Confused but have been eating all the time, and as it was a honeymoon baby, I was probably at a weight which is slightly below the norm to start!! rainfall this weather is crazy, I'm desperately excited for winter - half to cool down, but mostly to be further along with the pregnancy! Hate wishing away the year, but winter can't come soon enough!

SpaceDinosaur · 03/08/2016 17:49

Checking in!

My mum was just having a bloody firm feel and felt baby move. DH hasn't even managed that yet ffs!

I've gone through wearing the next size up and I'm in a pair of maternity soft Jean things from next right now.
I am NEVER taking them off. EVER!

Bloody asda don't do tall maternity clothes. I'm MASSIVELY struggling with leg length as I'm a tall girl. These jeans are ankle grazers Confused

mini and london someone at work recommended the NCT bed next to me today at work so I was having a read.

They're back available, I think they just made some modifications. As awful as it was, it sounded like user error from what I'd read. The bed isn't supposed to be tilted more than 5cm to help with reflux, they'd tilted it by 8cm. Then put baby face down to sleep with the side off and left them unattended. The baby had got its head over the side of the cot and because of the angle it was face first over the raised bit and it crushed it's windpipe poor thing.

From what I can tell the design is essentially no different from other cosleepers, I imagine they've just put something in place to stop it being tilted more than 5cm now

barkingtreefrog · 03/08/2016 18:40

I'm 21+3 and nothing pre pregnancy fits now other than dresses that were stretchy/floaty. I'm lucky to have been passed on maternity clothes from two friends, but neither had any trousers that fitted me. Got two pairs of maternity jeans but could really do with some smart trousers for work as I get fed up of wearing dresses!

And yes to whoever mentioned feeling like you hit a wall. Can't get motivated to do anything once I get past that point! I miss having energy!

Place marking!

I put on nearly a stone within the first 8 weeks which has thankfully slowed down now! 23wband 1.5 stone. Still fit in most pre pregnancy clothes (except boobs and bump) so thankfully it seems to have gone to the 'right' areas Grin

Thisisbonkers · 03/08/2016 20:13

Weigh in for me is Friday, but think I'm still below pre-pregnancy weight. I lost about a stone in the first trimester with sickness and nausea.

BonkersJunior appears to be finding it fun to sit poking my bladder, I think. Argh!

weechops · 03/08/2016 20:17

Just checking in. Have a monster of a tension headache so trying to coax big 2 chops into an early bedtime so i can go to bed too Smile

Grapefruit8 · 03/08/2016 21:03

Evening all! Thread 5, madness! Had our scan today, all good and we are still team yellow. The urge to find out was overwhelming so I'm pleased we resisted. Think we have narrowed it down to a icandy peach, silvercross wayfarer or oyster 2 pram wise. Thoughts on these ladies?

Hannahcarp27 · 03/08/2016 21:08

Sueevone thanks I rang my midwife and doctors as I also got a few bites before I had chase to protect myself. They are going to check head measurements on scan and should hopefully get some blood tests as well. I told my doctor and my midwife that I was going and had returned from Bali and no one picked up or said anything about ZIka there. Been doing lots of research and only seems to be 2 confirmed cases in the whole of Indonesia so trying not to worry.

South sorry to hear your news but you sound like an incredibly strong unit & no doubt she will be immensely loved and supported.

goinggrey1978 · 03/08/2016 22:26

Mark's place!!

firawla · 04/08/2016 00:47

Marking my place in the new thread!

bumbleclat yes - these past few days especially I've felt really wiped out mid afternoon and even fallen asleep!

Bella1985 · 04/08/2016 09:03

Tiredness is back, I'm feeling a little cheated, I thought I was meant to have amazing energy in the 2nd trimester?!

TipBoov · 04/08/2016 09:06

Bella I feel the same. I fainted on Wednesday and I've been exhausted - literally coming home from work, having a nap, eating tea then going to bed.

I went to see my GP yesterday who basically said, er... You're pregnant, it's normal!

This is DC2 and I don't remember feeling this tired last time!

StubbleTurnips · 04/08/2016 09:16

I had a sneaky nap yesterday afternoon when wfh, I was saying the same last night Tip. I do not remember being this tired last time, DH mentioned that my forgetfulness is also much worse. Didn't forget a thing with DD, this time I can barely remember where the kettle is. Must be the difference in genders!!

goinggrey1978 · 04/08/2016 09:17

Bella1985 and TipBoov, yes I'm exhausted all the time too!! Hoping it's my wonky thyroid levels but they doubled my medication 2weeks ago and I don't feel any better yet and also my gp had also said the same to me ages ago, your pregnant so will be tired!!

Essybird · 04/08/2016 09:22

And me.. Fatigue is back..

bumbleclat · 04/08/2016 09:51

Phew I'm glad I'm not the only one to be so exhausted. I've had time off eith DH but haven't been able to walk round town with him without having to have long 'sit downs' in cafes.
Off to Manorca on Saturday with very energetic niece, nephew and step daughter so hoping I'm not expected to pull my weight so to speak!

IslandLife · 04/08/2016 09:55

Very tired here too. Felt the first kicks last night! It was so amazing, and earlier than expected as I have an anterior and low placenta. Thought I'd share because DP really isn't into the whole pregnancy thing and the kicks freak him out!
