Ahh that's fab island. I love feeling kicks, mine are muffled because I've got an anterior placenta too, but the odd one is really strong and I can see it too!

bumbleclat · 04/08/2016 11:10

I have put on 3kg so far and I'm 20 weeks I think that's 6 lbs

Firsttimer16 · 04/08/2016 15:26

TMI alert!! Hi Ladies, wondering if you can offer any advice. DH and I had sex last night in the first time for a while (I've been asleep so far before him and up much before at weekends!). Today when I peed, I had quite a lot of discharge, which appeared to be really quite firm but no blood - not really like normal stuff I've been having, and not really like his "stuff"! I panicked thinking that it could be something to do with my mucus plug, either having been disturbed, or just coincidently coming out - obviously my immediate panic was that this means stuff is happening and could go wrong. Has anyone else experienced anything similar, whether related to sex or not? Really sorry for TMI! But don't know whether I'm being silly or whether to ring midwife.

SpaceDinosaur · 04/08/2016 15:33

Golden rule of pregnancy, if you're worried then ring your midwife. No exceptions.

But my discharge is all crazy too. I think your mucus plug is all bloody and horrid looking but I don't know.
Honestly, check with your midwife my love

TipBoov · 04/08/2016 15:46

Definitely check with your midwife for peace of mind x

Nojo82 · 04/08/2016 17:41

Yea prob best to check, better to play it safe..
Total exhaustion today. Worked from 7.30 til 2. Was on my feet the whole shift apart from 15 mins break. Have come home in the hope for rest but my legs are in complete agony and cant settle. Hoping for a long hot bath later when hubby gets home. Wish he would hurry up..

OrianaBanana · 04/08/2016 18:17

Scan today at 20+6 and all fine - we are team pink Smile

Thequilltosurvive · 04/08/2016 18:21

What colour was it? My mucus plus was straw coloured and like sloppy, thick jelly. Very different to anything I'd seen before. I think it's very unlikely you lost yours :)

StubbleTurnips · 04/08/2016 18:32

Definitely ring the midwife.

My mucus plug last time gave me nightmares - it was like the biggest lump of thick snot like jelly, a pale brown colour. And it was huge. We've all got to look forward too again.

Firsttimer16 · 04/08/2016 18:49

Thanks all. It didn't have any blood in it at all. I rang my midwife team who somewhat unhelpfully told me I was too far gone to go to the EPU so if I was really worried I should ring the delivery suite...what I really wanted to know was if I should be worried! She seemed pretty bored calm about the whole thing and told me to look out for bleeding or cramps, so I guess I'll just watch this space. Oh the joys!! Ps never Google mucus plug - I did not need to see those pictures!!!!!

becciandbump · 04/08/2016 20:02

Just place marking hope everyone has had a good day x

cnchapmanxx · 04/08/2016 20:09

Place marking with baby C!
Feel her more and more everyday! And I feel like I'm a big fat whale. See attached pic xxx

Hi all, thanks for all the kind words. I'm feeling a lot more positive today, I've ordered a few bits for baby which is a positive step.

We had the bed nest with dd and it was great. We could tilt it, which was great as dd had reflux. And it made breastfeeding at night so easy. We might reorder it again. Although I do like the look of the chicco one. But the price 😱

SeashellHoarder · 04/08/2016 20:21

Hi all, can I join? I'm 20 weeks today with dd3. Had a scan yesterday which showed placenta previa, so I'm quite worried.
In answer to previous question, I've put on 14lb and I'm very large out front. I look way more than 20 weeks.

TipBoov · 04/08/2016 20:23

The Chicco one looks fab, but it does seem expensive! DS was in a crib (similar size) until he was 4 months, so it seems a lot to spend for just 4ish months...

lilydaisyrose · 04/08/2016 20:23

South, I've been thinking of you. You sound like a lovely Mummy and I know you'll manage this with love, patience and understanding. I know it's not what you would have chosen, but I bet she'll be a super special wee girl.

I've had a couple of small mucusy discharges - like a tiny bit of plug (a streak) - I had a wee Google and apparently, unless its a lot or bloody, then don't worry. It can repair itself.

becciandbump · 04/08/2016 21:07

seashell horder I was told I had a low lying placenta. The consultant told me that this and placenta previa were not normally a concern at 20w as as the uterus grows the placenta tends to grow upwards you should have been offered a scan around 32 weeks to recheck its position. Maybe ring you midwife for some extra advice if you are worried? X welcome to the group

IslandLife · 04/08/2016 21:50

Seashell - At my 20 wk scan they told me i have a placenta previa. It's anterior as well. I've got another scan booked for wk 32 and they said if there was no change then I'd be re scanned at wk 36 and if still no change they would book a c section for probably wk 39. The midwife seemed quite relaxed about it and she told me to stay away from Dr Google! Good advice as I briefly googled c section with anterior placenta and now I've got myself worried!

kittyscot81 · 04/08/2016 21:51

I've not weighed myself. I am huge though, Deffo look more than 21 weeks. It's disconcerting in a way because I'm not consciously eating more, think I have a big boy in there! It's also all up front, not really noticed much change anywhere else!

DartmoorDoughnut · 04/08/2016 21:53

Just remembered about these: tuppenceandcrumble.com/shop/fleece-baby-star-wrap-brights a friend had one last time round and her DS looked so snug and comfy in it, but for some reason I never got round to buying one Hmm December baby = perfect excuse!

Dartmoor they are gorgeous!!!! Ooo, a red one just around Christmas time Grin

BristolLFR · 04/08/2016 22:09

Ooh they are lovely dartmoor!
I've just sent my mum the link as a hint :)

Anyone get kicks in the same place? My little one definitely has a favourite position, I can't tell if it's arms or legs yet, but I always feel the movements strongest at this time in the evening, and always really low down by my right hip!

BristolLFR · 04/08/2016 22:20

Have posted this in chat for a wider audience, but you ladies night have some ideas too...

My next door neighbour is (over)due her third baby imminently. We know each other to say hi, and given that I'm also preg (a few months behind) I'd like to extend the friendship.

I'd like to get her/ her family a little something when the baby arrives, but not sure what? She has 2 DC already, about 4 and 5ish who are very excited about their impending sibling.

Was thinking something that's mainly for the DC so they feel included, and possibly a meal since they'll have their hands full. It's the wrong weather for a casserole or lasagne, thoughts on doing a roast chicken? At least they can pick at that/ make it in to salad/ sandwiches etc

Any suggestions on either the meal or gift?

SeashellHoarder · 04/08/2016 22:40

Thanks becci and island. I've had a previous emcs so dr Google tells me it's only 50%chance of moving. Normally 90%. I know the best thing is not to worry, but can't help it. Another scan at 28 weeks.
Island, are you on an island?
Bristol, depending on the set up. if it was me I'd take her kids to my garden for a few hours for a play and a snack. But not sure if you know her well enough?
