Super so pleased to read this! I've been thinking of you.

SuperDuperJezebel · 07/08/2016 14:20

Thank you all for your crossed fingers and kind words, it's nice to know people are thinking of you when you're worrying.

On the subject of double buggies, I really rate the in-line, rather than side by side, buggies... Have been a nanny for 15 years and had quite a few multiples, it just makes getting around a lot easier. Having said that I really like the look of the Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double... I use the single at work and it's excellent.

Magic I just had my booking in appointment and the midwife was very strongly of the opinion that pregnancy multivitamins are pointless and just make you more sick trying to swallow a big tablet. All you need is folic acid and vit d which are more smaller tablets and easier to keep down. Even if you're not eating that well at the moment the baby will be getting nutrition from your existing stores for the first trimester.

Congrats Super, that's wonderful news!

Congrats Super! So relieved for you x

ItsMagicYouKnow · 07/08/2016 17:11

Super Great news and how wonderful to be seen so quickly!

Thanks alpha, I think you're right about the prenatal vits, just taking folic acid as it is and that's hard enough to swallow. I just wonder if I'm anaemic, in which case the vits would provide some iron. I haven't eaten red meat in a while, and I can't imagine my current diet of carbs and cheese is doing much to help. Might try a burger this evening Grin

WelliesAndCake · 07/08/2016 17:45

Great news Super! Really pleased to hear all is ok x

Cantstringawordtogether · 07/08/2016 17:57

Ah Super that is such good news :)

SuperDuperJezebel · 07/08/2016 18:20

I was really surprised how quickly I was seen... DH missed the whole thing, I told him to drop me off and then drop our friends off with all their camping stuff, because I'd waited several hours to be seen with my last miscarriage. This time I was in and out in just over an hour and that included them squeezing me in for an ultrasound - the list was full but someone was late so the nurse doing ultrasounds offered to do it right then. Can't get over how lucky we are in the UK to get all this for free at the point of service. My SiL lives in the US and reckons it cost them $10k each time they had a baby.

neonrainbow · 07/08/2016 19:01

it's funny because my midwife said that I should take the multi vitamin because hardly anybody has the healthy balanced diet that they recommend for pregnancy and to make sure that me and the babies are getting everything they need she said I should make sure I take the multivitamin. However I am also struggling taking the vitamin so have been cutting it in half.

alphabook · 07/08/2016 19:46

Neon i think if you're still sick/not eating well past the first trimester then it's different but I've also read elsewhere that unless you're seriously malnourished from HG, your baby will still be getting enough nutrition from your body's existing stores for the first few months.

Magic carbs and cheese is all I can cope with at the moment as well! I think they're testing my iron levels as part of my routine bloods, if that's not the same for you then you could always ask your GP if you're concerned?

Super we are so lucky to get it all for free! With all my fertility treatment and now having the baby, I dread to think how much it would all have cost if I'd had to pay for it.

Although Neon I don't know if it's different with twins as you obviously have two to nourish!

MW told me that folic acid and vit d are fine but if I want to spend alot on other vitamins I can but to keep my money! I'm on a higher dose of folic acid as my bmi is over 30 but under 35. Is anyone else? I'm not sure if it's making me feel sick/sicker. They are much bigger tablets and after iv taken it I feel awful.

Greentrees, I'm also on the higher dose, by my tablets are tiny, about the same size as the contraceptive pill

SuperDuperJezebel · 07/08/2016 20:43

MelbournMel, have you tried the GT? The handle is adjustable on it, I think the tyres are better too, foam filled and really smooth to push. I love the way it folds up just by lifting the one handle on the seat, my boss and I looked at a few diff buggies online and in store but both of us really liked this one! I have used a variety of buggies in the past because work and I think this is up there with the best.

Oh the midwife told me that before she knew it was twins. Unfortunately I've got two whole boxes left of vitamins as i got them on multibuy not realising how massive they are.

ItsMagicYouKnow · 07/08/2016 21:12

Thanks alpha, I'll definitely mention it when I see the doc next week (it's kind of a booking in app.). The nausea has let up today thank goodness, but am feeling ridiculously weak and dizzy and have been lying down most of the day. I also had what felt like Braxton Hicks, which I suppose is just things expanding down there. Freaky though!

ItsMagicYouKnow · 07/08/2016 21:12

Oh, and breathless! Confused

QueenFee · 07/08/2016 21:26

Interesting weekend here. In laws staying. Somehow they didn't guess despite my thickening waist and being sick in the garden this morning as someone was in the bathroom!
The strolli rider is a good alternative to a buggy board. I had the Jane power twin it was fantastic but better with siblings than twins.

Butterpuff · 08/08/2016 08:38

Morning all. Hope your all hanging in there with evil first tri nausea, sickness, dizzy, exhaustion. I'm hating it. And I think I'm only just coming up 8 weeks so have ages to go.
Multivitamins are indeed evil. I only manage them about every other day.
We told my parents and in laws last week and it makes life so much easier as we see them often. Saturday we had family and friends round. As soon as Dad saw me looking tired and sick he made a move home and everyone else left so I could sleep. Normally they would all have still been here in the garden drinking and chatting at midnight.

Zenzie · 08/08/2016 09:07

Morning all. I have a fever, aches and pains, chills and all. Just spoke to my doctor who didn't seem too bothered but I'll be off to the GP if it doesn't improve.

I feel rubbish! Hence the me me me post. Hope you're all doing ok.

Butterpuff · 08/08/2016 09:21

Sorry Zenzie that's horrible. I hope it passes quickly and if not that the GP can find something to help. Flowers Brew

Carolann8584 · 08/08/2016 09:32

Sorry for all who are struggling

8+3 for me today, feel exhausted, keep getting sharp pain in left boob. I did notice over the weekend my nipples are huge now (sorry if TMI) it shocked me, Just got out of the shower when I noticed. It's amazing how day to day my body is changing, one day its ok then the next I notice something like this.

Hope everyone is getting the support they need Flowers

PeanutButter82 · 08/08/2016 10:20

So pleased for you Super - what a huge relief for you!

Sorry to hear some of you are having a hard time of things.

Has anyone else noticed that their sense of smell has become really sensitive? I keep noticing that things smell revolting - anytime I walk past a bin or walk through the tunnel bit at my station, for example. I know the weather doesn't help with smells like that but I've never noticed it before. It's also not ideal when you have to get the tube to work everyday!
