Hi smiles

I'm 5w+6 today is my first day for feeling really nauseous, normally I love drinking water, today I don't want to in case I bring it back up

Also I have my first food aversion, my OH and I switched for decaf tea when we had our first bfp, but now I've gone off tea altogether, can't even handle more than a mouthful before I throw it away Sad OH isn't happy as I make the best brews and now I don't want to make any lol

x

alphabook · 21/07/2016 09:48

That was my first aversion as well Carolann, had one sip of tea and was immediately sick! I'm a bit lost without tea!

I haven't actually been sick yet but just forced myself to eat a banana, gagging while I swallow x

Gardencentregroupie · 21/07/2016 10:33

QueenFee I had a fourth degree tear last time and the consultant who debriefed me said he would highly recommend a c section this time. I've read a study that shows you're 5 times as likely to have a serious tear if you've already had one than if you haven't. I have some (minor) issues from my tear so I don't think I'll be risking it.

Alphabook my teacher was www.sonianoypilates.com

neonrainbow · 21/07/2016 10:47

Charlyb im glad your dp has been able to get in for the test. Fingers crossed he isnt a carrier.

Im feeling quite nauseous today. I haven't had any tea for days i used to have about 4 cups a day. All i want to drink is water. It's broken my diet coke addiction anyway!

VeraVioletVinn · 21/07/2016 10:54

Saw my GP this morning to get the ball rolling... starting to feel real now!

I have also gone off tea (sob!), sticking to peppermint as this also helps when feeling queasy.

I am wondering if I will need to be under consultant care as I have rheumatoid arthritis? I guess I can discuss with the midwife at my booking appointment. The rheumatology team seem happy to leave me to it unless any specific problems, which is quite encouraging I guess!

Thinking of all those who are having bleeding and other worrying symptoms... sending hopeful thoughts your way.

Carolann8584 · 21/07/2016 11:10

Really struggling today, trying hard to get my fruit intake up, but nausea isn't helping. Feeling really dehydrated even though I have had 3.5 pints so far today and it's not even 11:30. Sad

charlybs I'm also in the sore breasts club, Im struggling to sleep in my normal position on my side because in that position they kind of squash each other and hurt!

Trying to keep my activity levels up with cycling and swimming, but I'm so tired! Yawning my head off now despite a good night sleep, and it's not even lunch time.

Luckily no nausea yet, but tea does seem a bit 'off' to me.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the ladies going through worrying times.

AlaskanSnow · 21/07/2016 12:27

FXSkip that si good work on the lists

VeraVioletVinn I too have arthritis. Where do you suffer?
I'm waiting a call back from my consultant (who is on holiday) as he knew we were TTC and said if I wanted to, I could drop the meds when I got pg. I was on hydroxychlorquine and naproxen, and also having monthly steroid injections. I've dropped the lot and am now really struggling.
Cannot wait for the relaxin to kick in to ease the symptoms.
My GP didn't mention being under consultant case, although he did put it on the midwife form.

My only symptom is sore boobs too , they are ok during the day, but as soon as the bra comes off at night they throb like anything.

Finger crossed for those who are having concerns, it's so scary. xx

alphabook · 21/07/2016 12:33

Just had my follow up scan after only seeing a gestational sac and possible yolk sac at 6 weeks, was expecting the worst but we have a baby with a heartbeat measuring exactly right for 8 weeks! Burst into tears when I saw the heartbeat!

Amazing news Alpha! Delighted for you

Carolann8584 · 21/07/2016 12:48

Yay alpha so pleased for you Grin xx

VeraVioletVinn · 21/07/2016 12:50

Fantastic news alpha! Hearing the heartbeat must have been such an amazing moment!

AlaskanSnow my RA affects all my joints pretty much but hands, feet, shoulders are the worst. I came of methotrexate to TTC but am still taking sulfasalazine and hydroxychloroquine - this is keeping things under control pretty well although not as effective as the MTX. Not entirely happy about taking meds while pregnant but have read up a lot and my rheumatologist is confident that the doses I am taking are fine during pregnancy. It is a difficult balancing act - if I stop all meds I will basically be crippled and unable to work or look after DS1 so don't really see that as an option Sad. Also hoping that my symptoms will improve anyway as the pregnancy progresses!

ChoChang · 21/07/2016 13:00

That's amazing alpha, I'm so happy for you

Rosey135 · 21/07/2016 13:04

Amazing news Alpha!!

Having serious food aversion to anything with a soft or soggy texture, couldn't eat quiche for lunch, or muesli that had sat for too long. As long as it's firm and crunchy I'm fine!

ElsaMars · 21/07/2016 13:18

Yey Alpha!

My bleeding has stopped and I'm still feeling symptoms so fingers crossed, for me and everyone else (we need an emoticon for fingers crossed HQ)

I caved and told my mum, shouldn't have but it was impossible not to.

I like a lot if you have gone off tea and I am usually seriously addicted. Happened last time too. It's like the milk is off - bleugh!!

Carolann8584 · 21/07/2016 13:19

Has anybody mentioned anything to their employers? I have my yearly appraisal on Monday and don't know whether to mention I'm 6 weeks.
xx

FXSkip · 21/07/2016 14:17

Hi Carolann nope! My manager knows because we are friends, but I haven't told her officially and it won't be getting raised in my review as I will be asking for a promotion. Not convinced I will get it ha ha but I am planning to keep schtum until minimum September, ideally waiting until 17 weeks unless I start to show (more! lol)

Our policy is that you have to tell them 15 weeks before your EDD, which for me is mid November, and I can't be bothered with all the questions and attention it brings to be honest!

NameChange30 · 21/07/2016 14:24

That's not just policy at your work, Skip - everyone (in the UK) has to tell their employer at least 15 weeks before their EDD. And you have to tell them when you want to start maternity leave.

purplesmiler · 21/07/2016 14:24

Brill news alpha

Well we are on our holiday abroad now, coping fine with the heat so far having some shade during the hotter times of day and keeping on top of my fluids. I was worried about the flight however it went well. I felt the effects last night though felt uncomfortable like I was being stretched and bloated. Better today and making the most of relaxing (it is weird everyone else is on the cocktails lol but I'm enjoying the mock tail version).

Tiredness has hit me with a vengeance yesterday and today, feeling bloated and a bit nauseous too and so hot! Got asked today if I was 'expecting another one' so I obviously look as bloated as I feel!!

Cantstringawordtogether · 21/07/2016 14:39

Brilliant news alpha :)

Elsa glad your bleeding has stopped too :)

Blueandpinklove · 21/07/2016 14:46

Fantastic news Alpha!

As for telling Employers ... I don't have to worry about that as I'm self employed at the moment and looking after my other two kids. But with DC1 I told my employers at 6 or 7 weeks simply because I was so sick! I didn't want them thinking I was contagious and still showing up at work Smile.

abbinobb · 21/07/2016 15:21
