Welcome needahug and statsy there are a fair few of us south London and surrounding areas.
I have just acquired rib pain this week, it's really adding to the 'glow' of second trimester.

latinata · 06/07/2016 21:04

Also in the painful rib camp, just on one side.

Also never wearing normal jeans ever again. Have been in my topshop maternity skinnies since week 6 because the design is just so comfortable!

Deffo want a pushchair update from those looking this weekend!! If anyone claps eyes on the iCandy Peach and has an opinion would be very interested, as my shopping will be virtual until we're back in the UK in August.

I'm sure it will get tiring after a while, but I do love a good kicking!

DuckWaddle · 06/07/2016 22:14

I had the icandy peach for my Fd and did like it. It has Lots of room but fits fine on buses etc. it is quite heavy though but maybe that's what makes it feel sturdier than the bugaboo new.

DuckWaddle · 06/07/2016 22:15

Dd not Fd!!

smellsofelderberries · 07/07/2016 15:43

Anyone else having trouble sitting without back support for too long? Hanging out in the sun in a park today, no blanket so can't lie down, and baby girl does not like it! If I'm hunched over she'll start kicking. It's like she's going 'oi! Stop squashing me!'

tapismagique · 07/07/2016 16:34

sympathy to all those with rib pain ... pregnancy is just full of delights, isn't it?! I've been getting stiches whenever i walk for more than 5 minutes (I'm an active person!) which made the unexpected 35-minute walk through central london this morning due to a signalling failure fun!

I second latinata's request for pushchair feedback after the test runs, please. specifically: which super-light ones are still sturdy enough, have solid seats, and work for 0 months onwards? Mumsnet seems to love the city mini (which is about 7kg i think) but are there others? thanks!

DuckWaddle · 07/07/2016 22:08

Anyone else getting foot swelling? I had it really badly last time and it looks like I'll be suffering again this time! Joy!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 08/07/2016 07:52

Sorry to those suffering aches and pains etc. My worst problem atm is round ligament pain when I stretch. Really hurts!

Anyone with multiple dc able to tell me which (cheapish) tandem pushchairs I need/should avoid? We're probably going to have to get it second hand as it is but want to avoid something too flimsy (it's mainly for dh to be using after I have my brain surgery in the new year. DD will be 19 months at my due date so probably not old enough for safely walking when it's just the 3 of them...

AlbusPercival · 08/07/2016 08:53

I lost you all for a while. Glad to be back.
Hope everyone struggling feels better soon.

smellsofelderberries · 08/07/2016 09:45

Magique, the Bugaboo Bees are excellent, but the Mamas and Papas Urbo is another excellent light-weight city stroller. Lots of great designs too! Good from birth and can both be parent facing, which is why I'd never have a city mini for my from birth buggy, I hate not having them facing me for at least the first 6 months.

LittleGrey, I would avoid all side by side maclarens and the like. They're cheap but crazy wide, difficult to push and end up killing your back. I like the Oyster Max 2 as a good, solid, cheap double. They're quite heavy, but very sturdy and not too big. They're basically an iCandy ripoff!

AlbusPercival · 08/07/2016 10:15

DSis has just asked me to babysit baby nephew for a couple of hours tomorrow morning. Hes a month old. I've never had sole care of a baby before so am terrified.

How am I going to manage one all by myself full time in 16 weeks?

CakeAndChocolate · 08/07/2016 15:07

Albus Grin you'll be fine and if he screams and cries it has zero reflection on your parenting skills, It's just what babies do

AlbusPercival · 08/07/2016 15:24

He vomited on me last week cake, on my boobs, I looked like I was leaking milk Grin and that was when DSis was present.

Canters15 · 08/07/2016 16:43

albus I'd be terrified looking after someone elses baby, I'm hoping it's instinctive once you have your own!

FuzzyOwl · 08/07/2016 19:54

Little we're going to get the Upperbaby Vista 2015 as we have similar ages children and also want a tandem buggy. I've spent months looking into different ones and think it is the best one for us, especially since you can buy a buggy board for it for times when eldest DD doesn't want to be in the pram but is too tired to walk/going uphill.

Good luck Albus.

We're going to look at pushchairs tomorrow. The Bugaboo range seem ridiculously expensive so have pretty much ruled them out. Hopefully we'll see something we like.

Just booked flights to Barcelona for the first week of September as we have some friends that are living there. I'll be 30 weeks then so hoping I won't be too tired or ill.

funkky · 08/07/2016 20:40

Hi ladies! Reading all the posts and glad to hear all the positive scan news. I have rubbish spd and gp was going to give me a prescription for codamol a few weeks ago but as it wasn't too bad then she thought maybe see a physio first.
Now my back/ hips are going crazy and I have bought some over the counter ones and want to check if anyone is using/ has used them while pregnant? Google is giving me so many different views I don't know what to do!

FuzzyOwl · 08/07/2016 20:56

I'm taking cocodamol (30/500) funkky although i don't feel it really touches the pain a lot of the time and it adds to my constipation woes.

Thanks Fuzzy. Just taken a dosage hopefully helps a little bit as paracetamol
Does nothing for me.

latinata · 08/07/2016 21:57

Sorry to hear you're in so much paun funkky Sad

There's a bank holiday here in Argentina and having had all sorts of ambitions for the day I've mainly been on the sofa. DH and I heading out later for street celebrations of 200 years of independence tomorrow abd the prospect is exhausting!

Does anyone else only feel like curling up and shutting the doors for the next 3-4 months?!

FuzzyOwl · 08/07/2016 22:19

So far so good. Have given DNephew a bath and nappy change and bottle. Now he's sleeping. Can't believe by the time I am opening my advent calendar DS will be this big and here!!

needanewjob · 09/07/2016 16:24

Eek isn't it exciting! I think I'd forgotten that despite the heartburn and aches and pains I do really love being pregnant. I'm starting to plan the nursery for him and it's making his arrival seem so very real to us

latinata · 09/07/2016 17:18

Also so excited! Trying not to wish away the intervening months & enjoy sleeping whilst I can!
