Ooh that is a good deal fedup!

I've just been sent home from work again, really not feeling good and I'm of no use to anyone.

I have a really strong urge to eat a Mcdonalds cheeseburger. The need is so overpowering, I really feel like if I had one I'd feel 100% better 😄

Fedupithink · 11/07/2016 14:14

Have one Onthe I believe you crave what baby needs - mine was a nandos about half an hour ago. I'm now very happy! If a little sleepy from the carbs!

How funny Copper!! Good to know someone else shares my logic on these things. Kind of reassuring that I've made some OK decisions. I felt really overwhelmed when we first walked into the shop like "erm...where do we even start" but the staff were so so helpful.

tiredmumrighthere · 11/07/2016 14:18

Onthemetro-go get that cheeseburger girl!

22 weeks today and don't mean to brag but I'm feeling rather brilliant lately, energy is back (to the point I've painted and wallpapered two rooms) Infact I don't feel pregnant at all which is surprising not used to this Wink

Baby's moving about nicely which is a nice feeling as it took so long for me to feel any movement.
Sciatica has wore off a bit in the last 7 days but I'm such it'll be back soon which is a pain!

Sorry some of you are struggling Sad hopefully you get that "glow" (that everyone raves about) soon x

coppergrey · 11/07/2016 15:05

Fedup I am an obsessive researcher so went to town with reviews and have a ridiculous spreadsheet. It is really overwhelming but I think concentrating on the big things and getting them right for you and your situation is the best way to approach it. High five for getting it sorted! Grin

Fedupithink · 11/07/2016 17:32

High five right back at you!! I do feel much calmer now I know what we are buying and when and I feel I can back those decisions (questioned by the outlaws...) up with reasonable responses.

They are mostly objecting to the money we are spending - I've tried reasoning but I am now resorting to "it's our money, we both work bloody hard for it, It's actually none of your business" and repeat!

Anyone else have "helpful" inlaws? I do believe they mean well but we live in different worlds sometimes. I'm kind of dreading the post-birth visits already.

mrsdane · 11/07/2016 17:44

Big day today - bought the Joolz Geo as it's good for tall people (we're both tall) and now it's all a bit real! So exciting though. Also ordered the cot etc, and I think we're also going to get a Snuzpod - had a good look at one and they seem pretty clever. Also got the Mamas and Papas deal and they gave us £50 for making us wait! Pretty sweet.

Fedup - it's your money, you do what you like with it. Totally agree with you.

Also not loving being pregnant, although I'm yet to have the feet swelling/heartburn you describe (although now I've typed this, it'll kick in with a vengeance no doubt). I miss being able to exercise the way I did before, or have a biiiiiiig glass of wine. I know I'm lucky, but as someone mentioned earlier, it's so nice to have a forum in which to let off some steam. Also, I HATE MY MATERNITY JEANS. They never stay up but I can't wear regular jeans any more. First world problems I know. I'm getting bad back pain, especially if I let my upper leg touch the mattress, if that makes sense? I know I need a pillow but trying to buy one in Mothercare today was just painful. Going to look at JL now.

Sorry - rant over!

Fedupithink · 11/07/2016 18:00

Rant away Mrsdane

I've found next maternity clothes to be pretty good. The tailored trousers are so comfy I swear it's like I'm wearing leggings. Not sure I'll ever wear normal clothes again!

Just off to collect my jeans which have arrived in store this evening as despite a sizeable bump I'm still somehow in my old jeans - even though by the end of the day they are usually unbuttoned and unzipped!

smellsofelderberries · 11/07/2016 18:36

Fedup, my in-laws don't make comments but I do feel we sometimes get a bit judged for things. DH grew up quite working class and his parents don't have much money, and we are very lucky in that we both have good jobs and are good savers. They came to London the other week and it was raining so we got a taxi to and from dinner and DH wouldn't let them see the bill when he paid as he knew it would cause problems/there would be raised eyebrows. I hate being made to feel like we're frivolous though, and I often do when with them for extended periods!

My Mum is putting the donkey on lay-by for us this week in Sydney and it's costing us £870 equivalent, which I'm quite happy about. I just need to buy new mattresses for the Sleepi Mini and cot (and lots of bedding) and we'd be ready for baby!

I feel everyone on the cravings. I'm on the way to Pilates and have just eaten a croissant AND a kitkat Blush Tomorrow is grocery day so didn't have much in the house to snack on! (Already devoured a heap of fruit and have a salad for supper so refusing to feel guilty Grin)

westergille · 11/07/2016 19:26

Hello, I promised I'd update you on what happened at our scan today. Unfortunately, not good news - no heartbeat. Feeling numb in between the crying. So sorry to be sharing this news with you. Wish you all wonderful pregnancies and give your little ones a cuddle from me in November. I probably won't be back on the thread. xx

FuzzyOwl · 11/07/2016 19:31

So sorry westergille. Words really aren't enough at a devastating time like this. Take good care of yourself. Flowers

west I am so so sorry. As and when you feel ready there is a Rainbow baby conception thread where the ladies are a fabulous support, you would be more than welcome. Even if not ttc again for a while it's a safe place to talk about your baby and the emotions that you'll face over the coming months. Take care of yourself EnvyFlowers
