Great news, Slumber! I have been charged £45 (had already used my £10 gift card on something else) and it's being delivered today so all is looking promising!

If you've had your order cancelled by Amazon definitely give them another push - all I said was I was unhappy with the situation and found it unfair... worked a treat!

Slumberparty · 23/08/2016 11:47

Paid £37.50 in total including p&p so an amazing bargain and lucky I didn't have to argue with them. I just sent an only slightly snotty email asking them to confirm that they will be sending me the item at the price they had advertised at and that my previous email from them had confirmed.
Seems I was very lucky!

MissObsessed · 23/08/2016 12:06

Called Amazon again and asked to speak to a supervisor. Said I was unhappy with the unfair treatment and that I had heard of other people receiving the pod for £45 and they honoured it! I was even able to add my £10 gift voucher and no postage because of prime so got it for £35!! It's coming tomorrow - well worth the extra push and standing your ground Grin

tapismagique · 23/08/2016 12:31

on the topic of birth prep courses, has anyone done/have opinions on Daisy birthing? It seems to be a combo of yoga and breathing techniques. I'm considering doing one because 6 x 90 minute sessions for £75 seems better value than any of the pregnancy yoga around here (which is £12-15 per hour!). but any thoughts welcome!

FuzzyOwl · 23/08/2016 12:37

Great news about all of you getting the sleepyhead.

I have heard really good things about the Daisy course tap and would have done it if it was closer to me.

tap the local daisy teacher near us is on maternity I would have done it. Also, pregnancy yoga is amazing - mine is £12 per class and so worth it - I sleep the night I have it and can't wait to up to twice a week when I finish work.

Spottyladybird · 23/08/2016 13:15

I did Daisy last time and am doing it again. It's fantastic and well worth the money. It tends to be split into sections:
Yoga/stretching/breathing
Educational antenatal info
More yoga
Relaxation/hypnobirthing

I think it's really worthwhile. Ours also does Daisy Baby classes so it's nice to see some of the same mums after.

tapismagique · 23/08/2016 13:17

thanks everyone! It's decided, I'll sign up for Daisy. The teacher seems really accommodating too.

madeinmorningside · 23/08/2016 15:58

So annoying I have just spent 30 mins on the phone to Amazon and they won't honour the order. They said all orders have been cancelled and sent £10 voucher and didn't believe me that other people had been told different things. Will try an email now and one to their complaints department. Was happy to let it go if everyone was treated the same but this seems unfair.

MissObsessed · 23/08/2016 16:12

made Did you ask to speak to a supervisor? That's the only time I got a decent answer. It was people getting treated differently that made me carry on with it.

madeinmorningside · 23/08/2016 16:25

Yup tried a supervisor after getting nowhere with the first person. No luck. Will see if my emails get me anywhere!

Ionacat · 23/08/2016 17:00

Food poisioning here. Feeling rubbish, thankfully no vomiting, (not much sleep last night due to everything elsee though) but the stomach cramps aren't pleasant, drinking vast quantities to avoid dehydration and wracking my brains to what I could have eaten. DD and OH are fine so far. Baby kicking away as usual though. Bless my DD she has been brilliant today - even made her own lunch (we were supposed to have gone swimming) and one of my sisters is taking her out for the day tomorrow so I can relax.

RosyP13 · 23/08/2016 17:21

Thanks for advice regarding breastfeeding and buying milk/bottles etc. I've been looking for these disposable bottles which a few of you mentioned but can't find anything? Anyone got a link so I can see what they are?

I did a Daisy course last month and found it relaxing and helpful. Doing NCT in October too. Tempted to go back for another daisy course though. Im using this DVD at home and really liking it: www.amazon.co.uk/Yoga-Mindfulness-Pregnancy-Nadia-Raafat/dp/B00PKG9JHY/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1471969216&sr=8-12&keywords=pregnancy+yoga+dvd although not done all the routines yet.

Fedupithink · 23/08/2016 17:27

Hi Rosy they seem to be listed as starter packs, here's the SMA one from Tesco m.tesco.com/h5/groceries/r/www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=291571039 but all the brands do the same thing for about the same price.

Daisy didn't cover my area but I would have done them. Instead of opted for NCT, hypno birthing and pregnancy yoga. It's my second yoga class tonight but it was so so so good last week. I slept so well afterwards and felt really chilled and stretched out afterwards.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 23/08/2016 17:46

Aww I'm sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish Iona! I hope you get well soon. How sweet of your DD, how old is she? It seems she'll be a great help with the baby!

coppergrey · 23/08/2016 20:14

That's so bad of Amazon, made - all I did was send an email, didn't have to speak to a supervisor or anything. Really hope you get it sorted, it's so unfair of them to treat people differently... seems like it totally depends on who you get at customer services! Mine arrived today and order processed for £45 so they're certainly not just cancelling and issuing the gift card.

Hope you feel better soon, Iona x

Spottyladybird · 24/08/2016 09:04

Too hot! Really struggling with the heat.

Trying to drink lots and keep snacking through the day but feel really faint if i do more than walk around the house.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 24/08/2016 09:16

Take it easy today spotty. Just make sure you have a frozen something or other to put on your head from time to time and have a lazy day if you can. I can't actually remember who else was a teacher on here so I keep on assuming we're all off of work!

My appetite seems to have gone completely this week as well. I know the midwife told me to eat lots because the baby is small but I just can't seem to finish a meal. Maybe it's the heat too.

CakeAndChocolate · 24/08/2016 09:46

I'm also far too hot. 23 degrees at 9am here, I'm dreading the rest of the day. DS is at nursery and I'm working from home so hoping to stay as still as possible in front of the fan. Can't wait for the weather to cool down, it's unbearable.

Stretchedfortime · 24/08/2016 09:48

I'm with you on the heat. On a bus without air con and it's 31 degrees. Plus had a bad glucose reading this morning so I'm very grumpy indeed!

coppergrey · 24/08/2016 09:58

Sorry to all those suffering in the heat! I was very breathless and hot yesterday but feeling a bit better today. And I'm in the north, it's only low-20s here so can only imagine the struggle at 30 degrees and up! Flowers

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 24/08/2016 10:22

Very hot here too. And all we seem to do is go for walks! Luckily I can walk at 16mo toddler's peace which makes it just about manageable, and have little sit downs fairly often!

Spottyladybird · 24/08/2016 12:57

30C here in the south! I'm a teacher but do some tutoring and had two students this morning and could tell they were struggling to concentrate.

Feet have gone all puffy so going to try for an afternoon of feet in the paddling pool but doubt DD will go for it!

bobcat85 · 24/08/2016 13:15

I work in an air conditioned office so it's not been too bad but I know it'll be too hot in the house when I get home. Was also too hot last night so it was quite difficult to get to sleep.

Been training my cover today so it's been a pretty tiring week so far. Only two and a half days at work though and then I'm done for at least a year (or more).

Thurlow · 24/08/2016 13:31

Same, bobcat - I'm actually enjoying being at work because of the air-con, but the Tube and train home, and then the stuffy, boiling house.... urgh. At least it's only for a few days.

Barely slept last night and not imagining much sleep over the next night or two. It's a pain because these three days are my busiest at work (lots of standing up and training) and I could do with some decent sleep but hey-ho.

Keep reminding myself that in five weeks' time I'll be on maternity leave with DD at school and then can nap in the day to my heart's content.
