Birdie, meant to say where do you live, not line!

weeonion · 18/01/2007 11:35

birdie - poor u and UI. hope teh antibiotics kick in soon. why is it that u cant deliver in the midwife unit??

flumppootle · 18/01/2007 11:36

X posted birdie.

Grrr at midwife unit, had you set your heart and hopes on going there? Horrible when they change the plan, very unsettling for us mums to be.
at possible UTI but at least that they will have caught it quickly and treat it. Hopefully you will hear soon

1becomes3 · 18/01/2007 11:37

this

1becomes3 · 18/01/2007 11:39

Morning just htought I would let you have a look at my little darlings, as I was emailing the pictures to oz.

They are from my dating scan and my 20 week. I don't think I will be getting anymore as it is a bit too crowded in there to make anything out.

weeonion · 18/01/2007 11:40

wow 1B3 - how cool is that???????

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/01/2007 11:41

1b3, what lovely pictures! How exciting!!

flumppootle · 18/01/2007 11:41

Gorgeous 1B3 - it looks crowded in there already at 20 weeks

GirtWaspbElly · 18/01/2007 11:44

A happy thought about being ill whilst pg is that the babes get to share some of our immune systems responses so that's ONE fewer cold lo will get (yeah right!)
Almost glad that dh is away for a couple of days - for some reason it's easier to get up early without him lounging in bed making no contribution until it's all a mad rush...
I managed to sneak some carrot pieces and spinach past ds last night in a fish pie - as I said the orange bits were fish too - or was it the salmon? hehehe. I think he enjoyed having a token go at mashing the potatoes for it too.
Vile weather isn't it SOL? We're right on the river here so I've a cracking view of exactly WHY I don't want to be outside! Comiserations for having to go walking in the rain Capt Drippy!
Luckily my feet haven't 'gone' yet - although that IS why I've been wearing my favourite narrow boots as much as possible during the early days - as I hated the extra-wide fitting shoes - for all their comfort & practicality!

flumppootle · 18/01/2007 11:45

Has big onion been out for walkies yet wee onion ?
Maybe not the weather for walkies today an extra treat instead?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/01/2007 11:47

Has BigOnion got a special wet weather jacket??

1becomes3 · 18/01/2007 12:00

My god is the weather this bad everywhere else, There are 2 huge tree outside our house and I really think that they are on their way to blowing over onto my house

And the poor gold fish are well on their way to swimming in the flower beds as the pond is just about to burst!

i think I must be brave and mount a rescue mission into the back garden to save the fish!

Wish me luck

liath · 18/01/2007 12:01

Still snowing here but not lying.

Dh got up at half 9 so I crawled back into bed & went to sleep - feel completely spaced out now so could Big Onion come to my house with a nice big Latte and muffin, please?

My bump is a bit furry too but I have to say I've not been taken with the urge to draw on it. Come to think of it, though, my new outie tummy button would make a great nose .

Great scan pics, 1b3 - you must feel like there's a washing maching cycle going on in your tummy with two spinning around!

Sympathies to all with colds, just NOT fun at this stage of pregnancy.

BTW has anyone done a profile? I'm not sure about making one that's free to all of MN to view but it's a good way of reminding ourselves of who's who on the thread.

Katy44 · 18/01/2007 12:04

Bit of a warning re drawing on bumps - make sure you don't have a scan / AN appointment coming up in the next few day
(I seem to remember from school that pen takes ages to wash off skin)

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/01/2007 12:06

1b3, lol at your fish rescue! Hope they are ok.
Liath, I can't bear anyone/anything touching my tummy button, which is now protruding - it makes my legs go all funny!

weeonion · 18/01/2007 12:16

big onion has a special all weather coat - he comes from scotland after all so has little need for sun protection! he is a busy boy - off he goes with the orders- hot chocolate, lattes, muffins, fruit, a new line in lentil soup. barrels strapped all over his body so may be quite a while! he does a nifty goldfish rescue as well - 1B3 - he may call by yr place to save you and the beans a job!

my belly button shows no sign of popping - i was kinda hoping it would as i have been an "innie" all my life.

working at home today - still in PJs with laptop and birthing tales on living TV. eeeek!

mammyjo · 18/01/2007 12:19

Hi all. I really cant keep up with this thread but hope everyone is doing ok. Just wanted to say that I will be 30 (yes 30) weeks this Sunday!! Cant believe it has gone so fast! Bloody scary too that I have only 10 weeks left to go!! Am finishing work in 4 weeks time so not long left to go.

1b3, your scan pics look so lovely but cant imagine what having two in there must be like. My one kicks the hell out of me just by itself.

Hope the Bristol meet up went ok yesterday and apologies if someone has already posted about it. Have been reading for nearly 2 hours and still havent read all the posts from the last 3 days since I was here last! Did have a look at the childbirth thread which is hilarious and had me really belly laughing to myself!

flumppootle · 18/01/2007 12:21

WO do you find your tummy muscles tensing every time they ask someone to push on one of these programmes???
Or am I a complete weirdo?

1becomes3 · 18/01/2007 12:24

my belly button had popped so far out I'm not sure it is ever going to go back, and it looks horrible.
They are not nice looking things when they are in but out they look 10 times worse.

mind you it does save the job of having to pick fluff out! (tmi)

weeonion · 18/01/2007 12:58

flump - i thik everything tenses when i watch these programmes. i think i scared the cat there with my gasps.

i really am petrified of labour. oh lordy!!!!!!!

nuttygirl · 18/01/2007 13:02

Wow lovely pics of the dts 1b3.

OMG...my brain just doesn't seem to be working...I must start making notes when I catch up on the gossip!

Hairy belly here too

Glad to hear someone else (sorry - can't remember who ) has been told their bean is head down. Midwife told me that mine is too, was worrying a bit that it might pop at any time!!! Does anyone know if family history affects due date...i.e. if I was born late is my bean likely to be late? (I'm asking cos DH & his bro were premature and I'm a bit scared it means this one might be too...)

nuttygirl · 18/01/2007 13:06

WO - are you a first timer too...I feel a bit odd cos I'm not too worried about the labour, just worried about what DH will be like during it. I'm not sure he knows what to expect. I worry he thinks it's a quick drive to the hospital and a couple of pushes . I'm more worried about the pain relief than the pain . Think G&A/pethedine will make me dizzy (big fear of feeling dizzy as i had blackouts when I was younger) and worried about epidural cos I have a mole on my back and don't like anyone going near it.

Birdiebump · 18/01/2007 13:10

1B3 - am loving your scan pictures!!

Flump - My midwife unit policy has a cut-off point for mums over 40 and as I'm 41 she doesn't think she'll be able to persuade them. I wanted to give birth there as ideally I would like to have her in water again and there is much less chance of bagging the pool in the hospital !! Still, I guess I must just keep my fingers crossed. I don't think I could face a pool at home like I did with DS2 - too much hassle where we are now and I'm too old and tired for all this!!

SOSPL - We live in a town near Exeter, but I was brought up in Dublin, Ireland! Have lived in Devon all my adult life though (so a long time then.... ), first in South Devon, near Totnes, and for the last 6 years in and around Exeter. Love it here but boy is property prohibitive!! We may be looking to move into a 4 bedroomed as I can't get my head around LO eventually having to share with DS2 (who is a light sleeper) and it's not looking good, tbh!!

Re pics on tummies - isn't there an artist who does the most amazing works of art on pregnant bellies??

Pesha · 18/01/2007 13:13

I have a very deep belly button so hasn't ever stuck out, just gets abit shallower!

Flumppootle - my tummy muscles dont tense when i watch those programmes but my fanny muscles do!! Actually should watch them more, would be like doing pelvic floors!

Talking of which EVERYONE DO PELVIC FLOORS NOW!

She says sat here doing nothing!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 18/01/2007 13:15

Have come home early from work - feel hot/cold and then dizzy etc - off to bed. Wind here is terrible - trees down, roads closed - tile just flew off top of next doors roof and smashed on drive

Not going into work tomorrow unless feel better - not terrible just errant teenagers with behavioural problems and dizziness don't mix!

Birdie - good news on growth - a UTI can irritate your uterus which may trigger contractions.

sleep time...zzzzzzzzzzzz
