Great news re the GTT test Maveta. But on the paternity leave front. Can he take more as holiday?

EllieK · 18/01/2007 19:24

what shitty weather! most of suffolk is at a standstill, either due to trees down or lorries overturned. Stephen is working in thurrock today and staying at mine tonight, he left there at 3 ish and hasn't left essex yet! has averaged 8mph .

oh, we have power cuts too, thankfully not here but my dad is 5 mins away and they have nothing so i get the pleasure of my bro's for the evening (16 & nearly 18). irritating me beyond belief!

muminabigtumi · 18/01/2007 19:25

Laith

EllieK · 18/01/2007 19:31

ironng, what's that?

YvieE · 18/01/2007 19:35

I'm sure I'm going to x post with someone - its taken me that long to catch up.
Pesha\Liath - Good Luch with the scans, oh and Pesha make sure you complain to customer services about DD's bed, you never know they might chuck a freebie your way. I've lost count of the vouchers I've recived from making a complaint about customer sevice or lack of it.

1B3 - Loved the scan pics - they look absolutely adorable.

Runnyhabbit - just echoing what everybody else said don't get yourself worked up, i'm sure everything will be fine.

Can i join the hairy belly club? Although Maveta i don't know how you can wax, i'd be be petrified. Its bic razors for me, i tried leaving it but i found myself stroking it during times of deep thought - it had to go.

Also PMSL at spit\swallow comment...so true

Biscuits??? Did somebody say biscuits??? I've eaten 5 fruit shortcake, 5 party rings and just to make it lucky number 15, 5 chooclate fingers....and I don't feel sick

maveta · 18/01/2007 19:41

Urgh. I just made chicken nuggets (homemade from chicken breast and breadcrumbs) and on the last couple I suddenly noticed a really off taste. Now think maybe the meat wasn´t as fresh as I though. I feel sick at the thought.

Yvie - NO FEAR! I´m a bit of a waxing veteran so it doesn´t bother me in the slightest. Whack one of those prewaxed leg strips on there and get rid of those little buggers. I don´t trust shaving, reckon the last thing I need is a 5 o´clock shadow!!!

By the way, where did Harimad go? Is she another name changer and I´ve missed the connection or has she been away for quite a while?

maveta · 18/01/2007 19:43

bramshott - yeah he can and I guess that´s what we´ll do but it means even less annual leave left for the rest of the year and we were really hoping to get a holiday as a new family in autumn somewhere. It´s not the end of the world by any means, but it´s a bit of a bummer.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/01/2007 19:43

Maveta, fab news on the diabetes front - bring on the chocolates - to celebrate of course!

I too cannot believe you are waxing your tum - does baby not leap about with the sensation! Oohhh makes my legs go funny.

Our boiler has been sorted thank God, so we have heating and hot water again - hurrah! So lucky that we have got elec, as I know lots of places are without.

Also, on the count down to a Becky free and dh free weekend!!!! Can't wait! SLEEP!!!
I will probably have really bad insomnia having said that and will be up on the hour. I have got loads of stuff to do, including the ruddy ironing - boo hiss.

Right, need a drink. See y'all later.

CaptainDippy · 18/01/2007 20:06

Yey to test results Maveta - EAT CHOC NOW - I COMMAND YOU!!

Still feeling pretty rough - DH making dinner -

My belly's a bit hairy - around the bellybutton sort of area. Nice.

Enjoy your w/e SOSPL - How exciting - Soooo !!

Dinner's up .... Yum!!

Glad to hear your test results are ok Maveta. What a pain about dh's paternity leave!

SOL - glad to hear your heating's ok now! No-one wants to loose that in Jan!

Have been inspecting my bump and it definately looks a bit more hairy than usual! No waxing here though! The thought of it while preg makes me want to faint. And I've given up waxing my legs, I get sooo many ingrowing hairs and spots as it grows back my legs end up a complete mess.

Yvie, glad to hear i'm not the only one scoffing the biccies!

maveta · 18/01/2007 20:26

Oh my god what a bunch of WUSSES!! I´ve got a mind to come over and wax you all myself!! It just really doesn´t bother me at all and I thought bean would jump the first time I did it but seems he doesn´t notice at all. I just can´t do a hairy belly. No way uh-uh no sir. No hairy tummy for me.

Chocolate duly eaten, thank you all for the encouragement

1becomes3 · 18/01/2007 20:26

I have 1 hair next to my belly button, actually it is 1 stray pube. I was going to attack it with some tweezers but surprise surprise I keep forgetting.

Aren't you worried that shaving or waxing you tummys will make the hair grow back thicker?

Or that might just be an old wives tale.

1becomes3 · 18/01/2007 20:29

Maveta I have waxed my legs twice in my life with a 7 year gap between each time.
Both times I have done it it has made me come up in horrific bruises, I think I may have been doing something wrong?

Did my bikini line once and the same thing happened there it looked very when I was on holiday. IYKWIM

1b3 - actually if anything waxing should make hair weaker and thinner. Or so goes the theory. I have been a waxer since I was about 16, I remember the first time I kicked the poor woman in the chest! , so now the hair practically jumps out at the sign of wax. Um. ish.

Long term I would like to slowly kill every stray hair on my body with laser, it´s not that expensive if you just do bits at a time.

I am on a full on body-hair-attack-offensive. Beware...BWWWWWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH

maveta · 18/01/2007 21:00

1b3 - did you do it yourself???

EllieK · 18/01/2007 21:26

waxing - too scary!
have my eyebrows done but not going any further than that

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 18/01/2007 21:36

Evening all - have popped down for cup of tea and a few episodes of Baby Days/ Birth Day Girls! Head still hurts - just above my eyes - making me grumpy! Need to go back to bed!

Can't decide whether to go to work tomorrow - they said stay at home...will see in morning!

Bramshott - I know baby is back to back because can't feel his back/bum/head running across/up down tummy - soft tummy rather than hard iyswim! Also kicks are at the front - more movement today which is good I am planning to spend the last 4 weeks of pg leaning on my birthing ball to get him to turn.

I was chatting to Birdie yesterday about how to get another scan before birth - was planning to ask for a growth scan at about 36 weeks...if my GTT comes back positive then have good reason but if not will have to think of something.

I am getting into the idea of gas and air more and more - last time had a bit, went all giggly then the epidural kicked in - can anyone enlighten me as to how you breathe out and do your long out breaths when have that thing in your mouth (easy ladies - don't get too excited - mean the gas and air mouthpiece )

Off to check other threads, drink tea then back to bed!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 18/01/2007 21:37

and as waxing does hurt more than childbirth - has anyone tried hair removal cream instead and can you use it down there???

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 18/01/2007 21:38

Birth will be a breeze for maveta

opinionsrus · 18/01/2007 21:40
