Sol must have just missed at Exter College. I was there 90-92!
Claricebean thanks for the advice. My dcs are 6,4 and 2. The same as yours I think. Will stick to strict bedtime regime to give myself some peace. I do run out of patience at that time of night who doesn't ?

Goodluck with scans Pesha and Liath, hope that everything is resolved and that you can both enjoy the rest of this pg without worries.

On a complete tangent did anyone see Prison Break on Mon night? Wentworth Miller is YUMMY

Katy44 · 18/01/2007 16:20

don't shatter my illusion!
Anyway, I'm 27 so this may be the last time
Think I'll nip back out and get it anyway as we're havoing curry tonight and he'd really love a lager with it. Also forgot a couple of other bits and pieces.
When I start rambling like this will someone pls tell me to shut up!

weeonion · 18/01/2007 16:23

katy - have some chocolate

geordiemacminx · 18/01/2007 16:30

If anyone is interested, I got a swiss birthing type ball from tesco last night - £3.96.. lovely pink colour, very comfy for sitting on when hips are sore..

Also comes with a hand pump.. was worth the £3.96 to watch dp trying to inflate it.. took him about 3/4 of an hour, had sweat dripping off his nose and swore a lot.. especially when I told him that it would be better if we deflated it every night so that "it wouldnt be in the way"

Poor cat is terrified of it mind.. dont blame the wee thing.. its like a giant bowling ball..

I bought 2 HUGE boxs of biscuits for work last week, bourbons, custard creams, and the like.. anyways I think I have devoured a box by myself... baby likes tea and biscuits!!!

1becomes3 · 18/01/2007 16:40

Runny- you really have to stop looking at things like that, it is hard enough being pg without all the worrying things that could happen.
We all have to be POSITIVE
So I want positive thinking while doing your pelvic floor exercises, while typing on MN!

Multi tasking at its best

I got I.D(ed) not so long ago in a thresher, I was quite chuffed as I pulled out my driving licence I said "Thank you for that, you've made my day, I am a 25 year old mother of one, but thanks"

To which the girl behind the till said "yeah well I am a 19 year old mother of 4"

UMMM still don't have an answer for that one
May be a "well done" is what she wanted?

Some people do say some strange stuff.

CaptainDippy · 18/01/2007 16:44

Mmmmmm, biscuits .....

I get ID'ed ALL the time, I'm 24 - Makes me chuckle - The funniest time was when I got ID-ed for a KITCHEN KNIFE - just after I'd got married!!

CaptainDippy · 18/01/2007 16:45

19 yr old mum of 4 - But she needed to do her pelvic floors BIG TIME!!

1becomes3 · 18/01/2007 16:46

yeah what is the legal age on kitchen knives these days?

Katy44 · 18/01/2007 16:47

The other thing that did occur to me is that being pregnant made me look about 15...

Bramshott · 18/01/2007 16:48

I love getting ID-d too. Got asked in Sainsburys in the summer when had just turned 32 [preen emoticon required].

Runny - looking health stuff up on Google is always scary so always best avoided! The main thing with any problem / complication is that they are looking for it, and they identify it early. As others have said - very, very unlikely to be anything serious, but if it is, much, much safer that they find out now. I bet you'd find that most of the people with serious complications / stillbirth will be people who didn't even know they had a problem.

Liath - good luck for next week. Hope it sets your mind at rest.

A quick poll, as I'm quite worried too (like someone else posted) that DH is under the impression that this labour will be a breeze and all he has to do is say "you're doing great" at intervals - how normal is it to have a midwife with you the whole way through, or do you get left by yourself if it's a long labour? Last time I had a very quick labour, and lots of stress as DD was very early, so we had midwives, doctors etc there the whole time, and tbh, all DH did have to do was say a few encouraging things. But this time I am hoping to get much further on, which will hopefully mean a longer labour, otherwise I will be having this one in the car!

Better go and give DD some attention - haven't done much with her this afternoon and now she's watching Peppa Pig in just her vest and pants!

Katy44 · 18/01/2007 16:48

I think it's 16 - so CD must look very young!!

Katy44 · 18/01/2007 16:51

Bramshott - that is impressive at almost twice the legal age!

Bramshott · 18/01/2007 16:53

God, now that is depressing (that I am twice anyone's age, let alone anyone old enough to buy booze)!

CaptainDippy · 18/01/2007 17:01

Nice one Bramshott!

Yes, legal age for knives is 16 - Couldn't believe it, don't think I look that young!!

Your labour will be totally different this time Bramshott, I am pretty sure of that - Don't worry about DH and his expectations, just "go with it" - He'll just "know" what to do when the time comes - If DD was a quick natural labour last time, chances are, you'll have a quick labour this time, but doesn't always follow - Just concentrate on how you want this labour to go, write a wee Birth Plan and just let it happen - Ignore DH's preconceptions - Bless him, he is only a man, after all!!

at the 19 year old mother of 4.. her parents must be so proud!!

Another little tip before I pop home.. boots.com have triple advantage points on at the moment, plus a bonus 500 points if you spend £50 on baby stuff.. which means if you spend £50 you get 1110 extra points which is equivilant to £10.10.. so there!!

Katy44 · 18/01/2007 17:08

Trip to boots some time soon I think!!

CaptainDippy · 18/01/2007 17:09

Thanks for the top Geordie - Wish I had the money to spend in the frst palce - we are completely skint atm -

Whhops!! Did my post scare everyone off!!?

OP posts:
flumppootle · 18/01/2007 17:43

No not scared just trying to cook dinner cd.
How are you feeling now?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/01/2007 18:13

Millions of posts.

Good luck with the scans Liath and Pesha - let us know how it all goes.

Runny, my cousin had cholestasis when she was carrying twins and she had no problems. Try not to worry, which I know is easier said than done. Usually you have pain as well with it I think. Anyway, step away from the PC!

CD, hope you are feeling better soon, and everyone else who is feeling cack.

All ok here, although I am getting some sharp twinges which really make me catch my breath.

See you later.

eca · 18/01/2007 18:39

Hey lovlies

Runny - i think benig paranoid and going ott on google is part of preg! Hope that you can set your mind at rest. I'm sure the fact that they're investigating things so soon is good news.

1b3!!! Those photos are amazing! Really lovely.

Very impressive ID stories everyone. Bramshott, you are definately in the lead. When did youthwork in schools I would get mistaken for a student all the time. I was 27! What was interesting was how rude the reception staff would be to me coz they thought i was a young person!

Just seeing all the news about the gales. Really scary! So many people have died!

I caved in today and made more biscuits . Even bigonion's fruit barrel couldn't save me! And I only have 4 left !!

maveta · 18/01/2007 18:49

Hi Girls, Had a busy day at work today which was fab as it flew past and now I am off again until tues. got to love 3 day weeks. Feeling exhausted though and might need to veg in front of the tv. Typing is proving difficult!!

Pesha. that is so annoying about the beds, I would be furious too.

Hairy tummies--Oooooh yes. Quite. I am waxing now. It´s not even particularly dark but as you may have noticed, I´m a bit of a waxing fiend and so OFF it comes. Can´t stand excess hair. Belly buttons on the other hand do not bother me in the slightest. It seems like everyone is funny about touching theirs but anyone could poke around in mine and it wouldn´t bother me It actually looks quite nice now, I think. Normally it´s a deep long tunnel that collects fluff and god knows what and now it´s a very clean shallow bowl type. I often poke around in there

Bramshott - I got my GTT test back today and it was GREAT news!! No probs whatsoever and I can carry on eating sweet things, YAY!! And just goes to show...RUNNY..that we shouldn´t be allowed to look things up on the internet and freak ourselves out until absolutely necessary. And probably not even then.

Claricebean - sounds like you are doing a wicked job. My dad worked on an oil rig so my whole life he was 1 month away and 1 month at home or sometimes away even longer (once for 9 months!!!). But in my mum´s case, she swears it´s the main reason their marriage has survived 30 years!

Sorry, I know there is more but I am having trouble focussing..need..to...lie..down..

oh yeah, bummer news - dh only gets 3 days paternity leave!!!!! a new law is being passed for 10 days but they don´t know if it will come into effect before April. Poo.

Will pop in later x x

runnyhabbit · 18/01/2007 18:51

Thanks sweeties xx Will be looking at lots of cute baby stuff from now on, and can tell dh that you all told me too

lol at the id stories

I got asked for id in B&Q just after Christmas, for getting dh a stanley knife. I thought the sales asst was joking at first -

Him - are you over 21?
Me - are you joking?
Him - are you sure you're over 18?
Me - I'm sure I am
Him - definatley? you look very young.
Me - I have my driving licence if you want to see it
Him - Ok i believe you, but you do look very young.
Me - Thank you very much, I'm celebrating my 31st birthday in a weeks a time

maveta · 18/01/2007 18:52

Just had to add re. ID stories...v. indeed... if anything I am the complete opposite .. people always look so shocked when I say how old I am..as if ´wow, so young? really?´

Of course, I put it down to my precocious maturity for my age

runnyhabbit · 18/01/2007 18:58

Maveta - my dad has worked away from home for as long as I can remember too. Usually away for the week though, and home at weekends. Funnily enough, my mum says the same thing about it being the main reason that they've stayed together for 30+ years
