Possibly.

BooBoo - on my right hand the 3rd finger is longer than the index finger, but on the left it's the other way round. So what does that make me - a hermaphrodite?

muppetisacat · 29/01/2007 11:45

Good luck with scans Foxy and Kitty. Hope your placenta has shifted Foxy - can't remember why you're having scan Kitty... is it checking growth?

Just had more bloods done and saw mw. I have a sore varicose vein just under my bump which has popped up - owwwww - I HATE veins too... gives me the heebie jeebies...

Plus baby is STILL BREECH despite my crawling round on all fours and trying the odd bag of frozen peas.

The old fungal/fundal height issue raises itself again - i'm now measuring 2cm over dates - my midwife wasn't in the least concerned so I'm going to forget about it and eat more chocolate.

My ring fingers are longer than my index fingers and I'm def pretty 'assertive'

Amie your pampering sounds wonderful, I join the list of those who are .

Foxy, good luck with the old scan today and fingers crossed that the plancta has moved out of the way. Glad arsey bloke has been put in his little place .

Rosy I have a nest of pillows and duvets now, it's so lovely to clamber into isn't it.

Right I've decided NOT to go for the pool as it costs ALOT of dosh and I can't be dong with the hassle. I have bought these instead, I got the home birth one and the birth music one. though and hope that they will get me into the positive frame of mind to ease me through labour. I keep telling the jumping bean in residence that he is to come out nice and SLOWLY. I reckon he'll be so busy leaping around that he won't be able to find the exit
I have to wash my hair now. Does anyone else find this a really, really backbreaking task atm? I put it off until my head just feels so itchy and skanky as I hate the back ache it gives me.

divastrop · 29/01/2007 12:27

the 'wine' i dramk was only lambruscocant stomach owt stronger atm.

good luck to those having scans today-im sure all will be well.i want another scan now cos i'm starting to think this is a boy again after that dream the other night.i want to know!!!

muppet-a friend of mine is going in for a section tomorrow as her baby is breech.its her 4th baby and will be the first time shes had a section.she's very excited.youve still got plenty of time.

my middle fingers are longer than my index fingers.i've never been girly in any way

i managed to stay up till 3am this morning as dp and i were watching a good film.its the first time in weeks i havent fallen asleep on the sofa and had dp wake me at 1am to tell me to go to bed.but i forgot 3am isnt a good time to go to bed when you have a ds who gets up at 6am.

hope everybody is ok.

sazzybee · 29/01/2007 12:36

Good luck with scans today. I forgot to look at the baby when I went for an unexpected scan last week - I was so scared there would be something wrong with him. If I have another, I'll have a look.

I'm a bit cross today because my sister seemed to be implying last night that it was my fault that the baby was breech. I was probably overreacting but the exercises I've done have had no effect. I think the polyhydramnois will make it really difficult for him to turn anyway so I'm going to talk to the consultant next week as the SPD means the all fours position isn't the most comfy thing in the world. And I don't want to be shining lights up my fanjo and playing music up there if I don't have to

When is everyone due? I've lost track a bit.

spongecake · 29/01/2007 12:59

hi all, have been scanning the posts, glad about all the posts, and knowing all going though it! Just met man in lift here at work who said -ooh my wife is due today! me-"really, is she in hospital" him-" no, shes in my office" me-"blimey..."
have also been relaxing my no alcohol, caffeine rule as bump is so close to being a baby now... I mean 1/2 glass wine a week and no decaff teabags... I haven't been able to sleep for a few nights now- not really bump kicking, more can't get comfy at all -really restless legs..... thats 3 nights now I have hardly slept, and tuning over makes my tummy hurt-anyone else? my dp is convinec I will be early and is nagging me to pack bag/ do birthing plan etc

oh- ... i get a sudden pain all over my tummy-which makes me realise how BIG it is and it feels like cramp. Feels like it lasts for 5 mins but DP timed me and said 30 secs.(raised eybrow and can see he is re-thinking the present-at birth- promise its VERY VERY painful- is it braxton hicks? am only 33 and a bit weeks !

YankeeFish · 29/01/2007 13:03

Sazzy - I have lost track as well - so we should do an update.

YankeeFish - 34 weeks DD 12/03/07 Surprise

Scans - why is everyone having scans? I do not have any others schedule? Should I? Am I missing something? I wish everyone luck with theirs today...only good news now!

sazzybee · 29/01/2007 13:11

Yankeefish we are due on the same day!

Sazzybee - 34 weeks DD 12/3/07 boy

Rosylily · 29/01/2007 13:15

spongecake definately sounds like the old braxton hicks there. I get them loads. When you go into labour its something like that usually along with back ache/ period-pain-like cramps and it'll be much more powerful than braxton hicks once it gets going. Good to keep your dh on his toes

kitty you can have a nice warm bath instead of the pool. I wouldn't be bothered either, probably go to all that expense and bother and then baby will pop out on the landing on was back from a toilet break or something

Yankeefish you are the day after me and laidback wonder will we go on time!!
edd 11/03 (boy)

foxabout2pop · 29/01/2007 13:18

Blimey!!

I thought this was a thread for PG Mums2be, but judging by your fingers, I've been chatting for the last few months with a load of blokes!

Rosylily · 29/01/2007 13:23

Do you think the fact that we are all half blokes has anything to do with nearly all of us carrying boys????

3rdTriMossTer · 29/01/2007 13:26

Rosy / Spongecake, I get a feeling that's like really bad stitch, when I walk for any more than about five minutes, could that be BH?

Sazzybee / Yankeefish, my dates are:
EDD 27 March
31+6 - Boy

Spongecake I did wonder actually about seeing if I could go into work with dh when I am at my edd, because if I'm at home, he's got to leave work, then come home, then drive me all the way to Liverpool. But then I thought I might frighten his colleagues!!

Muppet sorry your lo is still breech is there anything the mw can do? What does that mean, will you have to have a cs?

I have just had nutella butties for my dinner. On wholemeal bread though, so not completely devoid of nutritional value!!

Rosylily · 29/01/2007 13:31

Moss I get a pain round the side of my bump which is my poor stretched tummy muscle I think. with BH, your bump goes all hard its not meant to actually hurt....

3rdTriMossTer · 29/01/2007 13:40

Oh, then I don't think it is bh then, must just be sore tummy muscles!!

Is anyone else struggling doing simple tasks atm like going upstairs? Does this go after you give birth? Will I once again be able to walk a ten minute walk in ten minutes instead of 20?

sazzybee · 29/01/2007 13:52

Moss - I quake when confronted by a flight of stairs. I live in a ground floor flat - I've never been more thankful

My middle finger is longer than my index as well. I'm obviously in the right place!

Rosylily · 29/01/2007 13:52

oh yes! You should see the state of me huffing and puffing slowly up the three flights to the top where the childrens rooms are and all the toys live. And after all my going up and down stairs my legs are still like tree trunks at the moment (fume)

sexkittyinwaiting · 29/01/2007 13:53

Mossy, after the birth you will walk like John Wayne for a while!! After my first vag birth with no.3 my fanjo felt so swollen that it felt like a baboon's bottom looks iyswim!!!
Soon you will be up to speed though. it's lovely being able to bend over again. Best go, taxi will be here in a min.

Rosylily · 29/01/2007 13:57

it's like chinese whispers, isn't it meant to be your 3rd finger and pointing finger we are comparing?? Anyway never mind that, I've got really broad shoulders, flat chest and hairy nipples...I'm definately a bloke
Actually just looked and my nipples aren't hairy at the moment

spongecake · 29/01/2007 13:59

thx rosy- it defintely hurts when I get the tight feeling like a band around my tummy! just had another one, and its HURTS like anything!

mossy, the feeling I get isn't like a stitch-if i do walk further than say 50yards I have to stop as feel baby is going to fall out as all the weight goes down. For this reason I cannot wash up as more than 5 mins on my feet and I HAVE to sit down.

must do some work..

btw dolly tax for advice re my over-zealous health visitor.

sazzybee · 29/01/2007 14:02

kitty - that sounds lovely - not!

the more I hear about birth, the more offputting it sounds. Is it too late to change my mind?!

spongecake - mine don't hurt as such but they are uncomfortable. I have trouble with the washing up as I'm getting further and further away from the sink

Rosylily · 29/01/2007 14:03

Where does it hurt? Does the bump hurt? or is it hurting down below??? Maybe some people do feel some pain with BH. Anyone?

3rdTriMossTer · 29/01/2007 14:19

Ah Sazzybee the joys of a ground floor flat... everything within easy reach!

Actually, I have to say, I have always been very of people with upstairs toilets. Until now. Seeming as, if I'm not in bed, I'm lying on the couch, it's so nice to just be able to get up, go the loo, and go back to the couch again.

Rosy three flights of stairs!!! Omg you poor thing!!! And here's me moaning about one flight!

Kitty walking like John Wayne doesn't sound great admittedly but as long as I can walk somewhere without having to stop every five minutes to take a rest I don't mind how I walk there!

AmieR · 29/01/2007 14:21

mossy - hmmmmmmm nutella gets jar and spoon

Yankee - wasn't supposed to ahve another scan before birth but sister on ward when I went to be monitored last week suggested one, as my last measurement was small... so just a check to see if growth all ok

I'm not sure If I'm having BH's or not... I get sudden moments of feeling so full, with a slight tightness at top of bump but not much (not sure if that's becuase i have a squidgy tummy!) but I just feel so full for a minute or two.. odd.

My dog has just tried to bury his postman's leg bone in my plant pot! bless him!

Rosylily · 29/01/2007 14:28

Amie has your dog eaten the postman?

Moss actually its only two flights of stairs...can't count. It blinking feels like three flights obviously!

3rdTriMossTer · 29/01/2007 14:28

Amie

"My dog has just tried to bury his postman's leg bone in my plant pot!"

Either, your dog has his very own postie, who has lost a leg, that your dog has taken (which worries me greatly)

or, your dog has a toy postman.

Please put my mind at rest, which one is it?
