amie-i had to have a scan after i went in with reduced movements with ds1.the trace was fine but they still scanned me anyway.

my blood pressure was fine todaymaybe cos i had a relaxing night last night.but as i suspected the baby is back to back or posterior or whatever its called.the mw said dont worry its got loads of time to turn round.yeah,so did ds1 when they told me he was back to back at 30 weeks.i really dont want to go through a labour like that again

shanks-when the baby gets bigger and the cot base needs to be lowered its usually atound the age the baby is sitting up and can lift his/her arms up for you IME.

foxabout2pop · 26/01/2007 18:34

Hi Amie glad your baby is OK, try not to worry I'm sure the next scan will be fine

Hi everyone else. Am getting a bit confused about this ladygarden business...is everyone making theirs bald for the big day????

I've never done that - is it just in case you have to have a C Section?

Confused
3rdTriMossTer · 26/01/2007 19:00

Amie glad your lo is okay, I'm sure the scan will be okay they just have to be extra sure of everything.

Foxy, I, erm, have always had a well-groomed ladygarden, I can't bear it if it's really hairy! Nothing to do with labour or c-sections, just personal preference! But I would feel a bit odd going baldy!

Diva glad your bp is okay. I had my mw appt yesterday and was told that his head's facing down but that he is also back to back, but that there is time for him to turn around. So is that a load of horlicks then, will he stay like that?

Bethoo I haven't bought any nursing bras yet but tomorrow is Big Baby Shop day, I am currently 34G so thinking of buying 1x34G and 1x36G or 34H, just in case I get bigger.

Dh is out tonight which means I have to eat my own food. Yuk. Luckily I have some Findus Crispy Pancakes in the freezer left over from when they were the only thing I could eat when I had terrible ms at the beginning! Methinks that's my tea this evening!!

sexkittyinwaiting · 26/01/2007 19:25

Aime, I've got a growth scan on monday. A sleepy baby is a good thing. Dd3 was pretty sleepy in the womb and even at 13 months she has to sleep again every two hours during the day and does 12-13 hours at night . This baby ,however, kicks like a mule and doesn't ever seem to sleep

divastrop · 26/01/2007 20:36

kitty/amie-whenever i had to have a trace for dd2 i would end up on the monitor for ages cos she wouldnt wake up.she slept through the night from 12 weeks(although she wakes up now since her routine went tits up when she had that chest infection in december)she sleeps 13 hours a night now...apart from waking for a bottle at 12 ish like a newborn

i will re-train her!

the two boys were very active in the womb and both of them stopped having daytime naps at 12 months and they both now get up at 6am most days

moss-i started a thread about the back to back thing, some of the advice/links are very reassuring...here

re-lady garden-ive always shaved, well, since i had my appendix out at 15 and they 'shaved' me,then the re-growth was unbearable so i just kept doing it.i cant see it atm,i just do the best i can
i do remember in the shower the day after having dd2,i was very to discover i just had a sort of bald strip down the middle and long ,curly hairs either side!

3rdTriMossTer · 26/01/2007 20:40

Diva thanks I will have a look at that tomorrow I am going to bed now for a nice early night, dh is out so I will take the cat with me! (He isn't allowed in the bedroom when dh is around, he's stricter than me!!)

sexkittyinwaiting · 26/01/2007 20:50

Diva, perhaps girls are more laidack than boys. That is certainly the case when they're kids. When my dd's have friends to play they are as quiet as mice, the boys on the other hand tend to tear aroound the place in a whirlwind of chaos and destruction . I'm sure it's payback time for the girls once they get to teenagers though

foxabout2pop · 26/01/2007 20:54

Diva - LOL at the monk's hairstyle you had down below!!

divastrop · 26/01/2007 21:33

kitty-girls seem to be more laidback till about 6...then they start with the attitude IME.dd1 is 8 now and she hates me/cant wait to leave home/nobody ever listens to her/her life is truly awful.saying that,dd2 is starting to go through the terrible 2's so maybe i just breed precocious little madams!

cant think where they may get their stroppy tendencies from

Rosylily · 26/01/2007 21:57

Amie great that you were reassured your sleepy baby is ok. Your dh sounds like mine who also falls a sleep all over the place.

Diva good news about the blood pressure!

Fox, Yes I always shave down below for comfort but not going baldy. I still laugh about the poodle on your lap maybe just leave it as it is for the entertainment of your future audience

I'm so uncomfortable these days, I'm stuffed full of baby now, I can hardly eat...no room, I'm huffing and puffing and my hips are dislocating everytime I relax. So it takes ages to get up and click back together.

And I'm so slow! Back to having my 'walking fast' fantasy for the next 6 weeks and so....

sazzybee · 26/01/2007 22:06

I get overtaken by old ladies now when I'm walking down the street - it's very embarrassing.

I was on the bus today and stupidly sat in the middle seat at the back. An idiot pulled out in front of us and the driver slammed on his brakes and I nearly got flung down the aisle. Thankfully I was holding onto the pole but I was really shaken and teary. So my tip of the day is - don't sit in that seat!

Amie - so glad your LO looks like he's doing fine - I wish mine were a bit more sleepy. He seems to be awake 24/7 which is a bit alarming!

foxabout2pop · 27/01/2007 06:20

Sazzy - I feel very vulnerable too physically - feel as though the entire world is threatening to harm my baby be bumping into me, knocking me over etc...

Rosy - I so can't wait to walk fast again too! I really enjoy a good long walk and now I could not physicall walk more than about half a mile, and even that would be at a very slow waddle. I have a really achey pain between my legs in my pelvis, plus low back pains and sciatica each time I walk

BTW DH woke me up at 5.30am YET AGAIN today!!

I was so annoyed I had to console myself with some swiss dark chocolate from M&S.

foxabout2pop · 27/01/2007 06:22

PS Booboo Buddy if your out there, we are both officially "eight months PG tomorrow"!!

I shall try and get the words "heavily pregnant" into each conversation I have now, as I love that term!

34+6

3rdTriMossTer · 27/01/2007 07:47

Sazzy I also get overtaken by pensioners when I walk anywhere. Dh forgot to get the money out for my driving lesson last night I have to walk up to the Spar cash machine.

It's a ten / fifteen minute walk for any normal person, but it's up a slope. If I go in about ten minutes I reckon I might just make it back in time for my lesson

Foxy I love "heavily pregnant" and I do feel heavier and heavier by the day!

I have no butter or spread for my toast so I'm going to see if I can find any chcolate for brekkie!

LunarSea · 27/01/2007 08:43

Amie - I reckon you're having a girl then - ds (whose middle name ought to have been duracell because he never stops) was another who was active all the time before he was born.

sexkittyinwaiting · 27/01/2007 08:46

Morning all Dd2's kidney scan went much better than I expected yesterday. They get strapped to a bed in a sort if winding sheet and they have to keep stock still for 30 mins. She was a star and didn't move at all. I fed her nad the staff mini eggs

We all have nasty sick bug here. It's my turn now but mine seems to be going on longer than eveeryone else's which is unusual. I had the most horrendous stomach ache all last night and horrific heart burn. Everytime LO wriggled it made it worse.
I feel a bit better having having puked up yesterday's lunch which was undigested .

I know what you mean about feeling heavy. I feel like I'm going to fall through the floor

3rdTriMossTer · 27/01/2007 08:54

Kitty glad your dd2's okay, but sorry you have a nasty bug , it's no wonder you have it longer than everyone else, you don't get any time to rest and relax and recover!

Dh took pity on me and drove me to the cash machine. I'd still be half way up the road now if I'd walked!

Better go & wait by the front door for my driving instructor.

TheBlonde · 27/01/2007 09:28

Hi all

Kitty - DS has a yuck bug too. I think I have finally got the smell out of his room but he's still not well. I was hoping for a quiet morning on my own but DH decided he couldn't take him out as he might give the bug to his best mate's kiddies

Question for those thinking of tens machines - when are you supposed to order them for hire?

(33+4)

Rosylily · 27/01/2007 09:28

Fox my sis got me a voucher for a beauty parlour session for christmas, so I was on the phone booking it and telling them I'm 'heavily pregnant' so they are going to give me an aromamassage with oils for heavily pregnant people.

Kitty you poor thing, I am just shaking off my bug now 2 weeks later. It's a big fat bummer. I hope you feel better soon. Glad your dd kidney scan went well.

If girls are less active than boys that would figure, my guy never stops wriggling!

This morning I didn't want to wake up but 2 little ones were beside my bed demanding my attention and tiny one started hiccupping and I felt as if I was being hassled by all 3 little ones when I wanted a lie in. (no chance)

foxabout2pop · 27/01/2007 10:04

The Blonde - you need to hire the TENS about 3/4 weeks before. I hired mine from boots I think and they sent it in the post.

Kitty - glad DD's scan went OK, but sorry to hear about your vomiting bug

All my three have been mighty wigglers. DS one was quick and light wriggling (so much so that the MWs always laughed). DD was very active too. This one is not so fast but feels a lot stronger than DS1 or DD, so think he may be larger (DS and DD were long and thin). This one never seems to rest though

foxabout2pop · 27/01/2007 10:04

Rosdy - am very of your heavily PG massage..sounds wonderful

AmieR · 27/01/2007 10:42

kitty - glad your DD's scan went well, also hope you feel better soon!

Rosy - tomorrow my Uni mates are treating me to a day of pampering at a hotel in Oxford, I"m having a "Mum to be" treatment day while they get bits and bobs done to their fine, slim, selves... I'm looking forward to it! Hope you enjoy your massage!

Moss - How'd your driving lesson go, I hated learnign to drive, my first instructor was a right idiot and I got out the car once half way through my lesson and never saw him again!

Lunar - I've always suspected I'm having a pink bundle! Bit worried I'll find out at scan next week as I've been so "Strong" not to find out this far! Esp as DH won't be able to make it and he's been the enforcer of the "I want a surprise" campaign... will I Buckle?

off to get my hair chopped off today, and to buy a new toiletries bag.. i found mine yesterday andits in no state to go to the hospital.. good excuse eh?

3rdTriMossTer · 27/01/2007 12:09

Rosy your heavily pregnant massage sounds wonderful!

TheBlonde I haven't decided about a TENS machine yet, I don't know when you hire them I'm afraid. A friend of mil's has one for her arthiritus (sp?) so I might see if nearer the time I can wangle borrowing it. Or I might just go for a hot bath & a bit of deep heat

Amie driving lesson wasn't as bad as some of them, I wish I had learned earlier when I was still young and in the habit of learning things! I learned to reverse around a corner today though. Which is great, although I'm still not sure I've mastered going forward round a corner yet!!

I am shopping atm, I hate rl shopping so I'm trying to get as much done online as I can. I'm gonna buy one maternity bra now, just in case I go early! And the other one three weeks before I'm due like they say.

What does everyone think, I'm 34G now at 31+4 weeks (I'm usually 32F so I've not grown loads) what size should I buy, and where will do me one that doesn't look like something my gran would wear, for a reasonable price?

morocco · 27/01/2007 13:18

hi all
hurrah! I am finally organising some birth stuff, like a cot matress and nappies. Hope I get organised in time.

bethoo (I think it was you?) are you still having muscle cramps and are you on iron tablets already? I had loads across my stomach for the last few weeks and lots of pelvic pain but a few days after starting the iron tablets and eating red meat (have been veggie for about a million years) they have almost completely gone. then I read that iron deficiency can cause muscle contractions, which I never knew before, so I think that was what was happening with me.

amie - glad the hosp is keeping a close eye on baby's progress, hope the scan next week goes well. enjoy that pamper day - sounds fab [jealous]

moss - I am amazed you can reverse! I can hardly turn round in the car these days. it must be even harder if you're learning all that stuff - I am impressed!

love to all, got to go, library hour is up!

Rosylily · 27/01/2007 14:30

Morocco did you find it hard to stomach the meat? I was veggie for years but now eat chicken and fish too but I can't force down anything else meatwise and I can only eat small amounts of chicken and fish. I bet my iron is down...

My massage is booked for 22nd feb so ages away and my sis is going with me for a facial.
Amie enjoy your day tomorrow that sounds like such a fab plan for a day with your friends.

Moss happy shopping! Don't know about bras, I got mine in mothercare but I'm a bit of a flatty compared to you!

We nearly got clamped yesterday. It's so annoying at the car tax office, there's absolutely nowhere to park. There was loads of space in the staff carpark and I was sitting waiting for dh when along came two guys with their clamp in hand!
I was able to move the car and wait with indicator on and engine running on the double yellow lines along with all the other people trying to get their car tax While the clamping guys made sure that the trillions of disabled spots and staff spots remained empty

Anyway dh loves me even more deeply now because I saved him the £85 clamping fine
